  1. I hate saying this to anyone, but your reading comprehension is lacking. When you take the first part of my sentence as a stand-alone sentence then sure, but you're incorrect in doing so. Take the first part of what I said and then add it to the second part and you will/should be able to understand what I'm saying, which I did clarify as well.
  2. You think it's insane of me to say that Quinn is already an amazing talent that is far ahead of the high majority of his peers and that he will be even better once playing with NHL-caliber players like Petey, Boeser, and Horvat?
  3. It may serve you better to read the last part of that sentence with the part you put in bold.
  4. I disagree that he likely won't ever have a good shot, as I see him take many shots from everywhere, which means he isn't hiding from it and is keen on getting better, unlike someone like Tanev who has accepted his ability and ostensibly thinks it won't ever get better. Quinn is close to the level of Petey, IMO, in that he is unbelievable already prior to the NHL, but once playing with NHL-caliber players he will be next level good. Once Quinn joins the team this/next year he will be training with the big boys and playing with players as good/better than him, something he doesn't have the luxury of just yet.
  5. Very impressed with Mikey. I sense he may end up beating out Demko one day for the #1. So quick with unteachable battle. High hockey iq, which isn't something really noticeable with a goalie.
  6. Hahaha, how could I have forgotten?! #FireBenning Seriously, tho, after a few blunders, he has been on fire for a while now. Great move after great move.
  7. Also gave up nothing to get him in the first place. Man, Benning is one gigantic breath of fresh air with how willing he is to follow through with his plan any chance he gets, especially after years of moves that coulda/woulda/shoulda happened.
  8. Well, in my post prior to the one you responded to, I did mention that he's on the run of his career, so I have given him some credit. However, a ten-game run does not mean he's magically overcome all of his past discrepancies, hence my interest in seeing how he responds to Demko.
  9. You certainly don't have to agree, but I have noticed multiple occasions where you can visibly see Marky upset with himself after letting in yet another soft goal, either early or late. I agree with you that he has rebounded in some games here and there, but I think it's more likely than not that he has historically displayed a mentally fragile game that has provided more losses than wins. I think it was due to putting too much pressure on himself, which is why I'm interested to see how he handles Demko pushing him soon, as it can be this type of situation (i.e. just a matter of time before the agreed-upon predicted new #1 starter takes over) that can potentially see Marky put too much pressure on himself again and we see him regress back to letting in soft goals and deflate the team. I hope it doesn't happen, but I do think it's a possibility.
  10. It will be interesting to see what Demko does to Marky's confidence. Marky has been on the run of his career, but I feel like his mental game is still fragile.
  11. Great trade, if not only for the pick and the possibility of bringing Demko up, but also for showing some here on CDC, yet again, that Benning et al know what they're doing.
  12. Johnny Canuck isn't a bad logo until it's put onto a jersey - it just doesn't sit right. I don't mind the JC with the V, tho, but gawd do I wish ownership doesn't screw this one up and we're stuck with something stupid for years to come.
  13. My bet is he will adjust as quickly as Petey. I really think he's that special of a player - the type that creates room for himself and others with ease. The NHL is the toughest league to play in, no doubt, but elite players with high IQs are very difficult to defend against because it's not easy to catch them in a vulnerable position. With his IQ and skating ability, he will have no problem adjusting his game.
  14. This. Quinn hasn't had NHL coaching yet to get him playing tighter hockey. He carries every team he's on because he has to. Once he joins our team he will be coached the right way and fill his role as necessary. I have no doubt he will be receptive to Greener and the team culture, but his coachability will determine whether or not he sees success right away or if it will take longer.
  15. I just meant I wish he gave us fans a little morsel of excitement when asked about guys like Petey and Brock. This is me being an excited and selfish fan (of course some people would jump to conclusions and interpret my statement as panicky). It's just not who he is, tho, or how he was raised. QH has been a professional since a much younger age than most guys, so he's quite mature for his age. His latest video, however, is exactly what I have been hoping to hear from him, which is that he's excited to be in van and about what guys like Petey are doing. As soon as he started saying those things I started to smile like an excited fan. I can't wait to watch this guy at the WJC and then with our young Nucks, m'gawd!
  16. Just listened to his 650 interview. Stoked he feels so ready and has some swagger. Boy, does he ever sound kinda meh, tho, every time he's asked about the Nucks.
  17. I think it's a worth the thought to ask Hughes, even if he's ready to play, to wait until next year for the sake of the team's asset management. There's no rush to his progression. Sure, he could step in like BB and EP have and rip it up, but QH's situation is slightly different with the timing of the expansion. Of course, this, to me, also hinges on where we are in the standings at the time. If we're close to making the playoffs then burn that year, but if it's meaningless games I say hold off and rest, Quinn.
  18. Actually, it has everything to do with Gaudette and Petey stepping into the NHL right away.
  19. Quinn is an elite prospect that will make an impact right away ala BB and EP. Anyone who thinks he will spend time in the AHL is out to lunch, and I don't think it's a stretch to predict he starts and remains on the Nucks.
  20. I still cant believe he's a Nuck. We're all over the moon with Boeser and EP, and then we're going to have Quinn join the team. This guy is going to be so much better than people expect. Another Calder candidate - three years in a row for us. #firebenning
  21. Pretty sure this is what I've been saying he's been doing. I can't tell if you read my posts as negative or positive, but they surely have not been the former.
  22. It's not just the one play but a common pattern with him - albeit less so than it was in years prior. He's learning how to have consistent compete levels on every shift, which is something that most young guys need to learn (see V18 as an example). He is learning and catching on, though, so I don't worry too much about him at all. This is just the main area I've been finding since the beginning with him that he has needed to work on, and he's slowly getting there. It's great to see him putting up points, which I've always felt he's been unrrated with by many on CDC. I've ways felt that he can be our next edler in the top 2 who can put up 40pts for us. Man, him and Hughes will be solidifying our backend for a few cups.
  23. The only critique I have of the OJ gif is how he stops skating and let's the play unfold ahead of him to the point where he barely reacts before the puck is in the net. Please refrain from flaming when I say this again, as I've said it months and months ago in here, but this is my small concern with him: he seems to have brain farts or something on plays where he gets beat, and he seems to just give up on those plays. This is where I think he needs to play with a heightened sense of urgency, similar to Tanev. But he's young and developing and will simply need more time to grow his skills and confidence. He'll be fine.
  24. Honestly, I think you nailed it. Love the black V on the arms. Nice work.
