  1. Hahaha EP not even voted top 3 for Sweden? Ok
  2. You're missing a beauty game by EP, but I'm sure someone will help you out. He's such a game changer and really does make plays out of nothing. I think only the goal right now, but i could be wrong.
  3. This period couldn't have started any better.
  4. You should teach a "how to de-rail a thread with one question 101" course Edit: quoted the wrong person. My bad, joke was meant for @kenhodgejr.
  5. He does that a lot, hey. So many great things with him
  6. A Lloyd Christmas chance is still a chance.
  7. Just to excite some peeps here even more about Dahlin, even if we don't win the lottery, we can still try to move up
  8. Man, boeser and EP on each side of the pp one day... #drools
  9. I think it's because CDC isn't used to reading actual hockey talk rather than constant undue criticism or homerism, so it's easy to take some peoples' opinions the wrong way. I really hope he gets a chance to play with Tanev at some point. I really like the TanMan as an example of being calm, cool, and collective yet always with a sense of urgency. I'd like to see him cut some weight as well, now that he's bulked up, to help with his mobility/foot speed. He's already so sound positionally, but once he gets to a more manageable playing weight I think it'll make his game even easier for him. And I think that's the thing with his high IQ, is that the game is easy for him, hence feeling bored of playing against junior-level players. I'm looking forward to seeing him play against the best of the best. I hope he'll be ready next year, simply for CDCs sake
  10. I'm sorry, but he does make some careless (i.e. lackadaisical) shots, backchecks, and plays sometimes. He's not some infallible prospect who never makes mistakes like some on here make him seem. It's just an area that he can improve on. A little less lack and a little more urgency. Is that not ok to say? These boards are so polarizing: it's either blind love or hate for our players. You of all people, Zepp, should be able to have a balanced discussion about a player - I've read you on these boards complaining of others not being able to, so what gives when it comes to OJ? I can't stand MT, btw, if that helps any.
  11. I watched all of his games in the tourney and I noticed more than a few times where he looked lackadaisical on plays and shifts, so I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I've also clearly stated my thoughts in multiple previous posts, so I'm really not up for repeating myself even more.
  12. I've said nothing of the sort. In fact, I've also posted how I'm an OJ fan; I gave out a verbal "yes!" when he was picked because I'm a JB believer and know how steady OJ is and how badly we need D prospects like him. The concern for me - and others, including some hockey analysts - started with his last year in junior and at prospect camp. He tends to play, at times, like he's bored when he plays against his peers, which he and management have admitted to, which is why he's playing against men in Finland. (It's nice to hear that he's not playing like that in Liiga.) Again, I still think he will be a very good player for us as is. With regards to you comparison of Boeser's skating, I'd say a more fair comparison is saying that it's a concern that EP won't fill out like we all hope he will and he will instead stay small like his brother. Do I think he will be a very good player for us even if he doesn't fill out? Yes, I do. Would it be better if he did fill out? Yes, of course.
  13. To be fair, I far from said that it's a roadblock he needs to overcome. It kind of seems like you're arguing with me rather than reading my posts.
  14. Admittedly, I haven't watched any of his games in Liiga, but that's good to hear. I should also clarify that it's not a huge concern for me - it's just a concern and area I think he could improve on. I said earlier that if he turns out to be an Elder I'd be very happy. But he has the potential to be better than Edler if he can amp up his game and sense of urgency more times than just when it matters. I'm also pretty sure it's an area that will be addressed because some hockey analysts have mentioned his, at times, lackadaisical play, so I'm sure the Nucks have noticed it too.
  15. ^This is what I've been saying, tho. I personally think it's a concern because I don't want another Elder but rather a more intense and physical Elder; something we all wish Elder was his entire career. Lastly, I think it's great that he played a better game when it mattered, but wouldn't it be nice to see him play like that even when it didn't matter?
  16. Exactly. This is why it concerns me: if he feels like he's bored, he shouldn't play like it but rather dominate his peers.
  17. Even in yesterday's game, which was his best of the tourney, he made some plays that were quite lackadaisical and almost cost them the game before heading to a SO. I'm not knocking him, by any means, it's just something he needs to work on as part of his development. My hope is that he can overcome it and be even better than I think he will already be.
  18. Even OJ himself said he is bored playing against his peers - that's why he's in Finland instead of London, so maybe "cares" is the wrong word - he plays like he's bored, which I hope changes once he makes the NHL.
  19. I'm not saying he doesn't care; he wouldn't be playing if he didn't. I'm saying he plays like he doesn't care. Edit: some hockey pundits have pointed this out a few times already with OJ. It's something he needs to work on: to play with more intensity and a sense of urgency.
  20. I've always liked this pick, as I truly think we have a great D prospect, but I disagree when people say he does everything right. I personally believe he needs to work on his intensity. He really looks bored on the ice - he reminds me a lot of Elder. Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy if we have another young Elder on our hands for the next decade, but imagine how much better he can be if he plays like he cares. He mentioned after last season that he wanted to play with men, so that's why he's playing in Finland rather than London, so maybe it will be different once he's in the NHL and playing with even better men? Here's hoping, because it's tough, at times, watching his lackadaisical - yet efficient - play.
