  1. Anyone else getting the sense that a deal has been made but they're waiting to announce it to protect Schenn right now from having to deal with the media fire when it does get announced? Let him make the move in peace right now, then when he and his wife are ready, announce it and answer questions and all of that at that time.
  2. He doesn't want to move anywhere, so maybe he gave 10 teams that he knows wouldn't want to trade for him
  3. Seems weird to call up Raty if he's admitted to playing horribly. I can't imagine he's going to see ice time with the VCs and it's more about getting him away from Abby to reset, get motivated, and go back down shortly.
  4. Free prospects are great, but I have a question for those who know more/better: are NCAA players as coveted as years past? I say this because it seems like more and more guys that are coveted are already pretty old, so I wonder if NCAA players are as impactful as they used to be?
  5. I listen to him every day as well. Again, what some fans (you) see as negative, others (me) see as realistic and honest about the team and its players. Let's take the example of Bear, because it's a good one. Drance thought it was a good move. Probably still does, because it still is. It's debatable if he's our 2nd best dman, but it's not an outrageous take to say he is. And maybe we haven't heard much about Bear from Drance for a while because there might just be some other, more pressing topics to cover? Drance has worked in the NHL for quite some time now. To say he's a journalist as if that ruins credibility for his love/insight for analytics is unfair. Again, the issue is not what he has to say, it's how he says it. I just think his detractors might learn something from hearing what he has to say if they can figure out their triggers. I mean, no one slams Jamie Dodd for agreeing with Drance on basically everything he has to say. Why would no one say Jamie is so negative all the time? Anyways. Game is on.
  6. I listen to him every day and don't see him as negative at all but rather fair, honest, and realistic, so please enlighten me on what's he negative about? Surely you can offer at least one specific example where's he's being "negative". Maybe the "that's not good enough" is a good place to start: What's he referring to with this take?
  7. Thank you for proving my point that haters have zero specifics to offer, only platitudes.
  8. What is he so pessimistic about? I truly would like to hear some specific examples, as all I've ever heard are platitudes from those who can't stand him.
  9. It's not really what he says but how he says it that gets under people's skin. But, I think what gets missed the most by fans that hate him so much is that the bar he has set, and to which all his points are directed towards, is an elite Stanley Cup contending team, not just a WC or middle of the pack playoff team. This is what I like about him, because he sets the highest bar possible and talks about how we can actually get there.
  10. I'm with you on your take of Drance. People who constantly bash him don't actually hear him and what his points are. If they did, they'd understand him better. He has lots of great insight. But good luck trying to find anyone who will actually argue Drance's points, point by point, as they'll quickly resort to bashing him without ever discussing his points.
  11. Teams are calling to ask if they're even interested in moving him.
  12. I'd like to think that, but I don't see it. It's a lot to take on for a new player to jump in and be expected (because you know Canucks fans will expect it) to be part of the solution to turn this retool into a contender. This is why I've said before that his BC connection might be there still to entice him to join this gong show, but without that connection, I'd say our chances are slim.
