  1. It's a terrible move for the Isle either way. If he doesn't sign then they traded away their future for a rental when they're not even close to being contenders, but if they do sign Bo, then it's almost certainly going to be a huge overpayment for too long of term. We won this trade by a long shot.
  2. JR & Co chose Miller over Bo for a reason. My only concern is what kind of effect it's going to have on the rest of the country clubbers. Is it true Demko wants out? What about Petey and/Hughes? If Brock goes soon, will the dominoes of trade requests start falling?
  3. If this is true, and I see it as a serious possibility, this organization better start relationship building with its players to get things back on track, because this level of grievance can have damaging effects in a variety of ways. Sad times.
  4. I'm glad we sorted it out that no one has actually hinted in any reports that Demko also thinks his injury was mishandled and that it was merely you joking around, as another player claiming that their injury has been mishandled would become a much larger story and problem for this organization. Hence why I asked for clarification.
  5. That's why I was asking what you read that hinted towards it being due to how his injury was handled. Maybe brush up on your idioms before using them incorrectly.
  6. Hinting towards others saying it's because of how his injury has been handled would turn this rumour into a much bigger story, so that part could've been left out of your post.
  7. Sure, but what was said that hints that he's not happy with how his situation was handled?
  8. What lines are these? Any specific report of him and his injury that hint at this?
  9. Possibly, but I'll lose even more respect for Bo if he signs with them for less than what he was asking from us.
  10. I don't think any of this matters, as Bo has made it clear he wants to play for a consistent playoff team. The Isle are not that right now, and their outlook is even worse. Unless they try to pay Bo $9m and he decides money is more important than winning, I just don't see him signing anything long term with them.
  11. I believe I read that he had a 52%FO in his 12 games in the NHL. As a 19/20yo, that's impressive.
  12. True, but if we trade Brock for anything and have Beau in his place, we just saved a bunch of cap and added some quickness with a guy who can also PK. This is a big upgrade over Brock.
  13. This is exactly it. He could've signed but declined. He thinks he's worth more, and that's his right. Some ask why we paid Miller for a career year and not Bo, but we didn't with Miller; he has been a PPG player for his entire tenure with us, and he drives every line that he's on. Even in his down year this year, he's still worth his salary. Bo's production is likely going to drop considerably on the Islanders and back down to his typical 60pt pace.
  14. It's because Bo isn't worth what he's asking, and Miller and Kuz are line drivers that are worth more to our team than Bo. I know this is hard to get passed because we drafted Bo and he was our captain, but aside from his goals and FO%, Bo is not what some people think he is. Raty is a legit prospect, but he does come with some risk. He dropped in his draft year because he felt too much pressure from being touted as the 1OA (he admitted to buckling under the pressure). He's continued to progress, but whether he'll be able to handle the Vancouver pressure/media remains to be seen. The 1st is the highest we could've gotten from a team. I'm still shocked that LL traded away so much for Bo. I will be more shocked if Bo signs with a sinking ship on the Island. I have a sense that Beau is going to thrive with our high-scoring offence. If we can unload Brock and save bunch of cap, we're on our way to seeing a retooled team. Plus, we should improve our draft ranking after all this. My initial reaction yesterday was underwhelmed, but I think they got very fair value for a 60pt Bo, and I'm here for these moves.
  15. I like the idea of the pick sliding to next year since the Isle could regress hard after this year, but this return feels underwhelming on first impressions.
  16. A bit of a shame. I think he's better than Studnicka, but life goes on.
  17. JR sure has done a great job evaluating this team since he came on
  18. Hopeful Canucks fans: We hired a new coach who will bring structure to the team and we won the first game! Canucks in game 2:
