  1. I mean, the frustration makes a lot of sense to many people. I've personally never liked the orca as a logo and don't feel is represents the team. We're not the Vancouver Orcas or Killer Whales. I get the arguments in favour and against, but it's not honestly worth beating a dead horse, imo. To each their own.
  2. Exactly, the logo and colours were designed and chosen around the corporation, and we saw an era of new jerseys and colours that were a 360 from the beloved flying skate. It is what it is, but it soured a lot of fans a result. Could you imagine Aqualini changing the logo and colours to suit The Aqualini investment group and we were suddenly red, green, and white to match the Italian flag? I jest, of course, but I also digress.
  3. I was half joking At this point in our franchise, it just kinda is what we do, and after all these years, I see nothing wrong with it. I grew up with the flying skate and think they're the best we've ever had. I also don't like how the orca came to be with Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment and their company colours. I'm with you, though. I like the different jerseys and identities. The flying skate is definitely a past era, but even many of the players have said how much they love them, and I've never heard a report of them liking any of the others, although it's possible they do.
  4. No idea, but I'd be surprised to hear the league having much of a say in what jersey an owner wants for its team.
  5. JT has been one of our most consistent players with regards to effort and a will to win.
  6. Question: Is Bo playing like he wants to make the playoffs this year?
  7. Imagine if Allvin trades softies like Dickinson, Poolman, and Pearson to clear cap and then surround guys like Brock with more grit so that he can focus more on scoring.
  8. Boeser is playing himself into more leverage with his numbers under Boudreau, so Nucks fans might be a little disappointed if we sign up, as I don't think it's going to be a pay cut.
  9. This could work out well for us. If we can lock up Brock for a friendly deal and then he improves his skating next year and breaks out...
  10. Posturing through the media to get NY thinking we'll trade Brock somewhere else and keep Miller
  11. Fair point. Man, I'm actually pretty surprised at how veteran they are as a team. I guess I was thinking about all of their younger guys and their recent rebuild/retool.
  12. I get all that; the reports are from beat writers and hearsay, but there's a chance it's management teams posturing. Aside from that, I'll use Calgary to better clarify my point: they traded for Tofu now because they're in it to make a real splash this year, and their team is at the point where they kind of have to. They're not rebuilding, haven't been rebuilding, haven't been doing well for a while now, and they believe their time is now. NY has just recently gone through a great rebuild and are still young and therefore not ostensibly in the same feeling of rush to win this year; hence, why I don't think they're going to trade the pieces it will take to get Miller. Maybe they will and we get Schneider and Laf, or Schneider, Chytil, and a 1st, but I'm not so hopeful. I could see Boston feeling more of a sense of urgency, but I'm not so sure they have the pieces we want to make the trade happen.
  13. True, but the reports are they have tabled an underwhelming offer, so I'm not so sure they are terribly interested in selling their cupboard for Miller. NY is still young, so I'll be very surprised to see them part with Schneider, Laf, or Kakko, as we all hope they will.
  14. We need a right-handed defenceman, and not B prospect like JS. I'm a little surprised that a team hasn't given a better off yet, but I guess it goes to show there isn't a very large sense of urgency with interested teams before the deadline. Maybe they'll up their price just in time before the deadline, but it sure seems like teams might just keep their cupboards full rather than going for it, which would also say that they don't think they're ready or that close to contending, even with Miller.
  15. Something I've never been able to understand is when we started to see what Petey could do, before he made the NHL, we all started talking about seeing Petey on right side and Brock on the left side both ripping one timers, yet we've never seen it. Ever. Hughes on the point feeding these two with Miller down low and Bo in the bumper would be lethal. It makes me sad.
  16. NY is currently offering a 2023 rental deal for Miller.
  17. Two small iffy prospects, a 3rd/4th line C and a 1st is a questionable offer. I'm with others on a Miller deal: get quality over quantity. We need sure things for our future, not hopefuls.
