  1. I don't think NY entertains that. I'd say more the first two pieces alone is a good trade for both, or the last three pieces and maybe a 2nd as well.
  2. I get all of this and think Schneider is a great centerpiece in a trade for Miller, but him and a late 1st (or 2nd as was proposed) is simply not enough for someone of Miller's calibre, who's a ppg centre that can play wing, pp, pk, gritty, and clutch hockey, and who also isn't a rental. Calgary just paid up a good price for Toffoli, but Miller is next level for a team that wants to go for glory, and I'm not so sure there's a team out there right now who's willing to pony up enough to get him. One thing is almost certain: Allvin et al won't trade Miller for only Schneider and a late 1st.
  3. Exactly the point I made in the post you just quoted (although a one-for-one top rhd who is only 26 fits my bill, but I was thinking more of a similar age to Miller of 29/30, which I wouldn't do).
  4. You don't think we could find a one-for-one trade of Miller for a top RHDman? I think we certainly could, but we're not going to because we want to get younger and picks, which is why Rangers would have to add to Schneider and a late 1st.
  5. What makes you say Schneider is worth so much? Is he really that good of a prospect? I call him a prospect, btw, because he's just starting to stick in the NHL. I just get a sense that some fans think he's much better of a prospect than he actually is, simply because he's a RHDman that we're lacking. Do you watch him often? Where are these reports that he's a franchise cornerstone dman? Maybe I'm missing something, but let's not forget that we're talking about trading Miller, our top forward who plays in every situation.
  6. Is Schneider as special as people are making him out to be, or are they overrating him slightly in thinking him + a 2nd or 1st is enough for someone like Miller? Value-wise, I have to disagree, as I would put Rathbone and Schneider on practically the same level, even though the latter is rh and a defensive dman. Rathbone is also a rare commodity in being such a highly-skilled offensive dman. They both have potential, plain and simple. And, yes, we do want a young rhdman with potential, but if we're trading away our best player then it better be for what he's worth, which is much more than Schneider plus a pick.
  7. Precedent means more than just arguing based on potential. Is Brock worth more than $7m+ because of his potential?
  8. But Schneider is not yet that guy. He's got potential, but potential does not swap a player like Miller and a 2nd or late 1st. Look at comparable trades for top Dmen and you'll find something like Jones for Johansen. Proven for proven. Miller is proven and a top forward in the league, yada yada yada, you've heard the spiel, so there's no way Miller gets traded for your proposal. He's worth way more. Schneider has only recently made the team. We could also put it this way: what is an offensive dman like Rathbone worth now? Could Rathbone and a 2nd get a player like Miller? See above.
  9. It's clear to everyone that OEL is being used in a shut-down role, as he's much better equipped to play that role than Hughes. Although I understand that we don't really have any shut-down Dmen, I still think that OEL needs to share the offensive role more with Quinn, as OEL can put up mad points, if given the chance. But, at the same time, Hughes is also becoming a defensive dynamo, so there's that. Really, we just need two really solid defensive dmen to play with both Hughes and OEL.
  10. It's possible Green didn't give him as much say, or Greens/Baumer's systems weren't as good.
  11. Fantastic. I'm betting it was more 95 and less studying hahaha.
  12. Fair. Also fair. To each their own, as they say. Wasn't 95 the first year you could create your own player?
  13. Sacrilege! Both of you! Take it back! Take it back!
  14. Although BoS is still a classic, nothing beats NHL94. I still own a Sega with a 20 inch tube that I keep in storage for when any of my old friends come for a visit. We bust it out and compete like little kids all over again. The music drives my wife crazy
  15. I don't think anyone knows, ha! "It's a pass", "Takes the pass", "Makes the pass". I still have no idea, to this day. I got that game for Christmas when it came out. I'll never forget it.
  16. Most people here, actually. Lineups, current news, game time, funny jokes, etc. If you don't want to put any effort into making a solid GDT then don't sign up. And if you do sign up and put in no effort to even get the facts straight, well, be prepared to hear about it and then sit in the box for 2 mins for instigating.
  17. Bold 1: no one is being told to do it. It is encouraged, but not forced. Freedom is not taken away like antivaxxers think, as they have the freedom to take it or not, and to find a new job. There is plenty of work out there. Bold 2: False equivalency. We're in a global pandemic such as the modern world has never seen. This isn't some willy nilly decision. This is a high-level decision designed to keep as many people as safe as possible. Let's put it this way: we have so many rules and regulations in society to keep the public safe, such as wearing steel toe boots on a job site, seat belts, hard hats, etc., yet no one is crying about losing their freedom and refusing to abide. Bold 3: Again, this sort of inaccurate and hyperbolic language needs to stop. No one is forcing anyone to get vaccinated. Honestly, what we need is to address the reasons why people are so afraid to get vaccinated, when it has been shown to be safe and effective and much safer than getting covid while unvaccinated. Antivaxxers want the pandemic to end and restrictions lifted but fail to realize that vaccinations are how that happens, and being uvaccinated is how we prolong it all. The irony is lost on the unvaccinated.
  18. Moving Miller while his value is at its highest is the first smart move. If those other guys don't regain their form afterwards then it's full rebuild time and we move each of them. Also not the end of the world.
  19. What's not fine is hoping they will and keeping a valuable asset that could walk for free next year, or diminish in value in his FA year. Losing Miller is not the end of the world. For all we know, Petey, Brock, and Bo might only regain their form without Miller on the team. We just don't know, but we can't make proper decisions on 'what ifs'.
  20. Not true. Miller could help us bring in some very valuable assets to try and get this team back on track for the long-term.
