  1. So you won't accept anything until you hear it from players calling him out?
  2. I think there's a chance that someone takes the risk to bring him on, but you're evading the question. Why would the Sharks be offering to pay half his salary just to get rid of him?
  3. The Sharks are offering to pay half his salary to get rid of him. What does that say to you?
  4. The tricky part of all of this is that we're further along than many people think, and if we trade away any of our core (and supporting core) guys, say Brock for a top RHD, we're filling one hole but creating another. If we trade away said player for futures, well, then we're essentially rebuilding. Personally, I'd like to see Petey, Hughes, Brock, Miller, Garland, Bo, Hogs, Podz, and Demko as untouchables and the rest on the trade table. Anyone but these guys, please and thank you.
  5. I doubt they'll shut it all down and not allow fans simply because people are getting sick, when they're not getting deathly ill like people were prior to the vaccines. Sutter is feeling what he is because the team got super sick last year being unvaccinated. Will the NHL take extra precautions? Likely, yes. But there's a good chance it won't be extreme like seasons prior.
  6. They better not shut everything down again for fully vaccinated people and sports. I get it, people are catching it, but from the sounds of it it's basically just a cold for fully vaccinated people. Shut everything down for the unvaccinated, but not for everyone else. We can't handle another economic crisis, especially when people are getting mild colds. /rant
  7. "This team is obviously better than their first 20 games, but I'm not so sure it may be even better than people think." These are his words, so maybe he's the one that misspoke? This reads to me like the following: I, personally, think we're much better than people think, but he's not so sure that's the case. Maybe he meant to say "But they may be even better than people think." But it reads to me like he thinks we're better than under Green, but not that much better.
  8. I love this analysis, so thank you for this. I've always liked it as an option, but to read that it works in many ways is something I've never heard before. Kudos. It's a great addition to the toolbox to clear the puck out. I mean, it's not like a team will ever catch it and skate back in and score on the rush in only a few seconds, so there's really no risk involved (aside from a delay of game penalty). I'm sure loving BB.
  9. Maybe, but he's going to get more calls for Brock, so he'll be enticed more as a result. It'll take a lot of strength for Aggressive Jim to not entertain trading Brock and not pulling the trigger. But then again, maybe he'll hire a GM sooner rather than later and Brock is still lighting it up and all of this is moot anyways. My biggest interest now is whether or not the team keeps rolling and what JR then sees with his team evaluation. I feel like we are a solid team that is much, much better than people think, and that we don't have as many holes as people think as well (up front, at least). His comment yesterday that this team isn't as good as some people think (paraphrasing) makes me curious to know where he thinks the team is at. I personally feel that our defence is what needs some bolstering, or at least some players back from injury. Anyhoogan, I'm rambling now.
  10. I'm guessing that Brock is good as gone simply because he is one of the worst skaters on our team but has some of the highest value. Petey and the boys will be crushed, and so will the fans. I sure hope JR doesn't mess this up. I will say, I've been worried since the hire, but today's PC put me more at ease. But, I'll say it again: I still sure hope he doesn't mess it up, ha!
  11. Miller would put Kane in his place the very first day and that would be it for Kane's time in Vancouver. Pass.
  12. When Smyl mentioned all the finger pointing, well, Green blending his lines every shift was his way of saying, "It a not me, it's the players." News flash: It was you, Green.
  13. But he is getting lots of chances. Give him time, as he's just a little snakebitten right now. Pearson is one of those guys who is underappreciated and does more things right than wrong. He's not a liability and the points will come.
  14. Lol yeah but an absolute warrior. Edit: I take it back. Too expensive for too many years.
  15. I'd rather try and get Gallagher out of Montreal.
