  1. New Jersey Devils sign three! New Jersey Devils General Manager Mike Vanderhoek announced today the signings of three unrestricted free agents, marking the start of what will no doubt be a very busy off season for the organization. In goal the organization needed to bring in depth to compete in Atlantic City moving forward, adding Eetu Makiniemi is the team taking a chance on a young netminder with a very high ceiling and somebody who can translate their skillset into an NHL career with some time and development. Signing forward Jaydon Dureau to a multi year contract will give him the time needed to continue developing his professional game. Not drafted highly as some sexier names he's had to work hard and is keeping pace with and outproducing some of those bigger name youngsters. We feel Jaydon will definitely utilize his offensive game into an NHL opportunity down the road for us. In signing offensive defenseman Benjamin Gleason the team hopes to have found a producer from the backend. After years of showing a highly skilled offensive game this past year he finally turned the corner in upgrading his defensive game and better positioning himself to mold into a strong two-way defender. The Devils thank agent @Ty Webb for the smooth negotiations and welcome Eetu, Jaydon, and Benjamin to the New Jersey organization.

  3. Quick shout out to @canuck2xtreme, @ThatMike, @lethunder, @arby18_, @Ty Webb, and @Sergei Bobrovsky as the agent group. Thanks for stepping up to your positions when called upon, have had much back and forth from each of you. The uptick in communications and efficiency in response times is quite noticeable and appreciated. I know there is a lot of discussions behind the scenes and a lot of work to do, I feel that void this offseason for me this year for sure. Agent work is a fun aspect of the game. Thanks guys!
  4. I wasn't going to double Raz ya on that one, the logo was too good to pass up, but your presentation was clean and concise.......
  5. Its hard to tell I see a little blue dot above your front office departments title, can't make it out is that a logo or ???
  6. @Rush17 this random 80's cereal that showed up at your door ( noticed after a green courier van with no insignia sped off )........use the glasses.....use the glasses.....dude sent you code in that " dark message ".
  7. FRONT OFFICE DEPARTMENTS Minors Budget: $ 30,000,000.00 Player Relations: $ 25,000,000.00 Player Development: $ 0 Medical Department: $ 0
  8. That garbage is white noise to me nowadays anyways but I understand the frustration and bewilderment by those assessments. Ritchie as a first round selection always had top six potential, he has throughout his career to this point been a player who takes too many questionable penalties, doesn't have first rate speed or skills but can play the power forward role. He would excel on a team's third line as a winger who can bang and crash as well as provide offense. I am sure he will see PP and top line time in Toronto because why not and the crash the next/garbage goal gameplan fits his skill set too. He had great chemistry with Ondrej Kase which if I am correct was also signed by the Leafs so if his concussion problems are behind him having those two on a line may be potential for something. At the very least he has a new opportunity with a stoied franchise and maybe a fresh start will do him well.
  9. There was a time when you were allowed to have differing opinions or utilize research or facts to make points or cases for or against certain topics. Not sure why you are being crapped on by some here. Respect thoughts on the player. I think ( says the part time custodial engineer haha ) he can bring value to the team, but was thrown at first by the name and values given.
  10. I personally like the signing of Tucker Poolman. A right handed defenseman with speed and skill who can play defensively responsible hockey and also provide offense with a pretty good skill set. He has decent size and is right in the age range where he isn't " long in the tooth " or inexperienced. I have read a lot about him, not on these types of boards I mean scouting reports, video and I personally think its the kind of deal where he has been building experience at the NHL level and now this is his big opportunity, I like the Canucks approach to lock him up as there is potential there for a reliable, mobile, durable defenseman who can put up 20 ? + ? points or so a year and not hurt the team defensively, he can transition the puck well which will be big for the team and getting the puck to the skilled forward group. Obviously the jury is out and just taking a glance at the stats people tend to value most in goals and assists there is a question mark, but the tools are there, he can provide offense ( previous seasons being the defensive partner with no PP time or little offensive starts 5 on 5 ) if put in that position. I just like the deal, it is a relatively cheap caphit for an NHL defenseman or at least I see it that way ( everyone gripes about non ELC numbers it seems these days lol ) and I just have a feeling this will be an under the radar signing if people can stop drawing negative attention to it. Frustrating as OEL's agent said the negativity in this market is a known flaw, whether media/fan driven it exists and its really tiring. Tucker Poolman is a Canuck, I will be cheering him on with the rest of the team game in and game out.
  11. The Penguins are thrilled to welcome Scott Laughton to the organization on a long term deal. Scott will solidify our top nine forward group, extremely reliable 200 foot game and offensive acumen will fit in nicely with our young up and coming group.
  12. When you look at who is out there who can win faceoffs at the rate Sutter does and play a solid shutdown style you start to see a shrinking list for a 4th line center. Danault is close to him in terms of faceoff % then it really goes downhill. Danault I doubt with his roles to date would likely not take the million range as a 4th C. Sutter provides value to the team.
  13. and your team still sucks lol.....when your club ripens he will be on the D-cline
  14. Of those listed Schenn is all but done on 2 yrs under a million per. Ceci should be the focus of the remainder of that list. Size, physical, speed, skilled with puck good for clearing net and transition.
  15. Need a bottom six centre. Khaira seems the popular choice sure and probably could sign him at a good number, his addition would be a hit to the teams faceoff ability, hes a downgrade in that department ( referring to Sutter, Beagle ). Philip Danault could be someone who doesn't skip a beat in the faceoff department, can be a shutdown forward and PK guy but he has a strong skillset and can put up numbers which lends to Benning's aim for more production from the bottom of the lineup. He may cost more than Khaira but has good size speed and ability.
  16. In all honesty I could see him starting in Vancouver over Rathbone to start just due to Waivers
  17. Utilizes strong skating, quick stick and smarts to get the puck away from danger areas and get the puck up ice. Again, he's fast, strong on his skates, very skilled with the puck and like other smaller successful dmen knows how to slip away from trouble. He is actually a very good depth bottom pair option who can also play special teams and not hurt you. His shot and offensive acumen can be an option on the PP as well. Put up 20 pts a few times in the NHL. Exactly, more of a sure thing then the 3 or 4 callups or rookies last year trying to fill in and play minutes. If he is brought in, along with Schenn that is some nice cheap shrewds adds in the depth department.
  18. @Nail feel free to tell me to shove it as I know you are a busy dude and much appreciated, just noticed Brady Tkachuk, Troy Terry extensions did not appear on my team sheet as of yet. Thanks a million!
  19. Pittsburgh Penguins Roster Moves: Assigned to Wilkes-Barre Scranton, Nick Merkley Lias Andersson Oliver Kylington Radim Simek Greg Pateryn
  20. I am going to go out on a limb and suggest Dhaliwal is completely wrong here. There is no concern of an offer sheet. The player is coming off his ELC, its a flat cap era and he can bridge then benefit much more long term. Yes there are other clubs out there with cap space sure, but remember the player actually has to sign the offer sheet in order for the Canucks to need to match. Don't see it happening. Likely an attempt to continue complaining about cap space and the perception the Canucks are in trouble with their cap. They can bridge Petey, Hughes and fill out their roster under the cap as they have just over $ 20 million in space remaining.
