what do you think of carson soucy as a player and where on the canuck’s defense would he fit in if we somehow got him?
-
i’ld hate to see brock traded too but being in a cap ctunch, jim has to explore all options to get cap compliant. i don’t believe though, that jim is moving him to save face for signing toffoli and giving up what he did. when guys add their opinions in on why gm’s do things, some people will take that as gospel. they should only report what they know. if brock is moved for a young talent and draft picks and it allows them to manage the cap, so be it.

if the canucks don’t go with 3 balanced scoring lines, then i see goldy. louie and schaller fighting it out for the 13th forward. to make 3 balanced scoring lines, i see the 4th line being beagle, motte and sutter.
i see the beginning of lines as being, ferland... pettersson....boeser; pearson...horvat .............; roussel...miller ..............
the final lines, to be determined. the battle is between, louie, goldie, jake, leivo, baertschi, schaller and gaudette.
-
good news. without him we would need 2 minute munching d-men, especially if they trade tanev. now if they can pick up miller from vegas and we’ld be better and it gives hughes, woo and juolevi time to take over those minutes. how many nhl d-men will they need for this coming season?
-
great observations lad. i love the roussel and beagle signings. i don’t worry about the dollar figure or the term. they can both be traded if their skills aren’t helping this team.
our bottom six are a strong defensive group.
we have imo 3 top six forwards and several player playing there that may not be the right wingers.
we have 4 suitable d-men, elder, tanev, hutton and stecher. hughes coming next season and possible juolevi. hurry woo.
to me the important issue with this team is, they win as a team and lose as a team. they need all types of players, excelling at their jobs to be successful. we are getting closer. 2 top 6 wingers and a rd p.m. d-man. another goalie for times like this.
thanks for your blogs. i enjoy them all. keep up your insights.

the canucks have 5 good centermen counting gaudette. i hope they don't move any of them this year. right now, the best of the four are playing in vancouver. i wouldn't mind gaudette, starting out on a line with horvat or sutter and then make sutter obsolete.
a hockey trade or one for a pick would be alright but only if an incoming player can be in the future plans of the team. otherwise, play out the season with what we got.
JB has said, if a trade makes sense for the team, he'll make it. i can live with that.
good blog lad.

merry christmas and thank you and your vaudevillians for the greeting.
-
maybe that is what horvat and boeser need. i love motte's game. who do you think gets waved when roussel draws in?
-
i see pettersson starting on the wing. that leaves gaudette fighting against gagner. i could see gaudette starting in utica. he will be a canuck in 2 years for sure. it wouldn't hurt pettersson and dahlen to play in uttica for a year. i hate seeing young guys rushed. we know that within 2 years, there will be wholesale changes here. good post, lad.
-
i'ld vote for pettersson or baertschi. but eventually, gadjovitch.
-
rate the top lines in nhl history, if you feel up to it. if not just tell us your favourite line in nhl history. i'ld like to know where howe/lindsay and delvecchio rank on your list?
-
we know, they won't rush their young guys, so that probably rules out mccann and cassels....i would think, it will be vey, cracknell, blair or a trade
pick up.
-
good blog lad....trying to read the minds and tendancies of both JB and WD...jb said, he is looking for sbisa to be a new bieksa, toughness wise, and picking up bartkowski because his forte is moving the puck out of his zone, quickly.....they might make a good combo...willie doesn't like pushing young players too quickly...so, i think he will start horvat on the third line and baerschi on the third line too with their mentor, dorsett...i don't know who slots into the 2nd line lw slot....i don't see virtanen cracking the line up this year...i wouldn't mind, seeing hamhuis and corrado starting out together ....
-
are we talking clark gillies? or mike gillis?

thank god, we have benning and crew to make these decisions..

i predict that cederholm is going to be a good stay at home defenseman...in a couple of years...watch for him....
-
the annoying part of cdc...wanna be gm's
-
a lot of people are saying that provorov is the best d-man in the draft...i don't see him dropping out of the top 6...good job though....
-
are 2 great players

i would say the sedins capitalized in all situations...unless they were held and checked by a teams top checkers....they were and are 2 great players....
-
you did a lot of work here... good opinions...i don't understand your comment on the sedins not seeing the other teams best players...unless you mean the other teams throwing their best checkers against them...
even grapes said, if someone stuck their finger in my mouth, i'ld bite it too...the player was trying to stop burrow's yapping...one linesman had burrows tied up, while the other failed to tie up the opponent's right arm...
the player pushed his finger into bur's mouth...he either bites it or the guy shoves it down his throat...
i agree with much of what you say...i just disagree on these two points

girlie looking...?....is that showing respect for people....you probably call the twins, sisters and lesser talents as garbage.....how many of us have ever made the sacrifices and dedicated so much of our time and effort to reach our goals as they have..

i believe that aquilinni will give gillis the summer to fix team and torts another year to mold the talent into a winning team...
gillis has made some mistakes but imo he is still a good gm....
-
bure was the most talented, reinhart the best pure passer, kurtenback was probably the toughest, smyl was mr. heart and sole, linden the best leader, ohland the best d-man.....most skilled together, the sedins.....lu and mclean the best goalies. AV and quinn the best coaches and gillis and burke the best gms.
