  1. we don't seem to have a group of young rw coming up unless virtanen can be comfortable on the right side...i know he prefers lw.

Vey Virtanen Jensen kassian Grenier. Seems fairly deep for under 25

i doubt kassian will be here next year...vitanen plays lw...his preference. jensen hasn't dominated in the ahl...can he take the next step...

    4. Warhippy

      Warhippy

So we've got a large bodied mean RW capable of playing top 6 in our system? Well didn't know that, so long Kassian I guess right.

  2. that proposed trade chips canucks offered can't be true...no way would edler drop his no trade to go to winnipeg...nor would bieksa.

    1. Carl's Jn

      Carl's Jn

i know... edler for sure.. already said no to leaving.

  3. looks like we have a new 2nd line...love horvat and dorsett....

  4. i think that that virtanen and jensen could crack the line up next year but i don't see mccann, shinkarik. gaunce or cassels making it. ...they need to resign dorsett and maybe matthias as the 4th line centre...barring trades, they need to decide the fate of bieksa, weber, burrows, higgins, hansen, matthias and richardson...and one goalie.

Virtanen well most likely bo like horvat if he makes the team. 4 th line minutes

      Sedins-Vrbata

      Higgins-Bonino-Burrows

      Mathias-Horva-Hansen

      Kenins-Richardson?-Virtanen/Jensen

Looks like Brodeur retired too soon

  6. button says, he thinks that provorov is the best d- man in the draft...

  7. i like putting our players down on paper and the try to match players we have that can one day replace them, along with how long till they will be ready..i don't count trades because cdc always overvalues our players and undervalues other teams players. higgins won't get us stamkos.

    1. smithers joe

      smithers joe

the most successful part of our game is the PK....and most of it is because of the defensive work of richardson, burrows and higgins..these are the guys cdc want gone from the team....

    2. Dazzle

      Dazzle

Our PK has let in goals against the absolute worst PP in the league.

we don't run this team...the coach is charged with winning games, the coaches decide but i'm sure management has a say in it as well..there may also be more to it than what we see..i'll trust WD and company...

      Denguin

Kassian for Hodgson straight up. Get 'er done GMMG

  9. i'm so happy for higgy...he is my favorite canuck along with dorsett..great defensive player, doesn't score much but always works hard.

    1. Horvat

      Horvat

to high of contract though, i agree with you hes the kind of guy who you just want to be friends with, he only deserves 2.8k for it though

    2. Mr.DirtyDangles

      Mr.DirtyDangles

Higgy is that feel good Canuck :D Love seeing him score

  10. i still believe in this team, but the life seems to have been sucked out of them...they don't hit and they can't get out of their own zone...i don't think you can single out any one player...it is a team issue..

i'm sure there are lots of teams that will trade us, their high paced energy players for our aging core...

  11. when i heard that a dallas scout was wanting to see kassian play and with willie history with them, i immediately thought...kassian for brett richie..same guys really....2 guys not playing consistantly up to their potentials.

Keenan and Torts can cannot fit their heads through the same hallway...unless of course the Leafs are planning to remodel ?

    4. Tearloch7

      Tearloch7

Torts will just live in NY State and commute on game days .. and they'll have to adapt to walking single file .. 10 minutes apart.

  13. i was so glad to see bonino score and how he played last night...hopefully he scores a few more now...him and higgins are 2 of my favorite canucks.

In a world where every Canuck journeyman player is worth a first round pick or another teams' top prospects, good luck with that Joe.

we all want them to play great every game but the won't ....they struggle against hard checking teams...that would be bennings area to improve that area to find solutions for....willie has to work with what he's got....trades aren't easy to make...give benning time...

  18. according to button's december rankings, we could have lawson crouse..lw, nicholas meloche ..big r shot d-man and mika rantanen..big rw... and lots of little guys...

    1. ActiveDouble

Our team was talented to win 2 President trophies. He might have a deeper lineup in NY, but not more talented overall.

  21. boston fans are saying their team is faster and more skilled with lucic out of the line up...they want him gone

i love that the fans don't think he is god....and question his skill and attitude.

  22. our second line is the opposite of last year...kesler was the goal scorer, but not a playmaker...bonino is a playmaker but doesn't really have any scorers with him...just 2 energy guys...daniel with bonino would help the second line.
