  1. now they can get busy on fixing this team and building a winner. move out some bad money or re-adjust it, and oh yah, stay away from covid. get petey and quinn signed. go canucks.
  2. what this tells me is, JB is back but on a short lease. good luck JB. hope you can make it work.

I think he has to make the playoffs this next year or he's probably gone. That or the coaching staff.

jim's most important job this off season, imo is to find a replacement for edler or resign him for one more year. it doesn't have to be OEL but has to be penalty killing horse. if he can fix the defense, this season should go well. i want to see him succeed.

i also believe, instead of not getting scoring from our bottom six, we must create 3 scoring lines.  2 forwards and one or two d men. but move contracts. hopefully louie retires, jake is moved or bought out and same for roussel.let sutter walk

  3. i still want to see 3 scoring lines next season. we have 3 play driving centers now in petey, bo and JT. we will need a couple more wingers to fill out the lines, but i see; petey between hogs and boeser, bo between pearson and ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, miller between podkolzin and ................ miller says he prefers playing center. my 4th line would be motte, graovac and highmore. can any of the other players fill those two open winger's spots or do they need to go and get suitable players? those left are lind, lockwood, gadjovitch, macewen, boyd, vesey, virtanen, beagle, roussel and eriksson and sutter if they bring him back. maybe a physical winger for petey's line then hogs count be a good fit for either of the other 2 lines. i think we're close up front, not sure how to fix the defense. hughes and rathbone, schmidt and myers. maybe 2 strong stay at home d-men. hoping JB can get out from under louie, virtanen, roussel, beagle and sutter. it might take a couple of buy outs, a retirement, some devine intervention and a trade. i think seattle might take macewem.
  4. thank you canuck players for your perseverence through a very difficult season. cudo's to you all.

  5. i'm sure that some posters will bombard us all next year, with their displeasure that they didn't get their way on who should run this team. for me, i look forward to the draft, expansion draft, players moved or picked up and next season. if JB can move on from players like louie, jake, roussel, holby and from edler and sutter unless they are brought back for one year at less pay and bonus laden contracts. it may take 2 years to move on from all of them. carry on canucks.

  7. highmore is playing there because no one else is capable yet. he will be a bottom six or 4th line winger. podkolzin will here for next year and they will still need a couple of wingers or a winger and a center. right now it is his speed that puts him ahead of the other bottom 6 forwards. chill lad, it will all work out. enjoy the last 3 games, the draft, the seattle draft and what ever changes the aquillini's make. you may get your wish, but let them figure it out.
  8. i don't know why gaud was traded. i have a feeling he requested one but looking at the 2 players, canucks didn't feel confident in his defensive play or his play as a center. he wasn't a 2nd line player, at least not yet or good enough defensively to play 4th line. highmore's speed and drive make him more adaptable in the line up. think motte 2. i liked gaud but this might work out better for both teams. lets give it a try.
  9. FA trusts courtnals opinion on the team and wants another voice to help make the right decisions. if there was a pres, he would conduct a total review of everything. he sure can't ask the fans, because we're all over the place. i might be the only one, but i love the pearson signing. he maybe a 3rd line winger but with bo, he help this team and bo a lot. he and bo have chemistry and play the same kind of 2 way game. if i'm wrong, shoot me at sunrise. . 5, 9, 11.
  10. i guess we look at it as, the playoffs are about to begin and we're still playing.

I have never cared less about playoffs.

It's kind of liberating....sunny days and I don't feel the urge to have to be inside watching hockey when my team's not playing.

I'll watch when I'm inside but I won't watch obsessively like I normally do.

Give the NHL a rest after the crap year they've inflicted on us.

Joe you're sounding like my Dad.

When I was in Toronto I was getting kind of frustrated at living there. My Dad called me up.

I explained how things were going then he asked me two questions:

      - Is your health ok?

      - Are you in jail?

He said then everything else will sort itself out. Only get concerned if those two questions are answered yes. I was kind of taken aback. I thought at first "Wow my Dad has low standards..."

But the older I get, the more I'm seeing he was looking at the big picture.

I’m looking forward to seeing the Leafs get bounced in the first round again.:metal:

  11. if our 4th line ends up as graovac between motte and highmore, we can concentrate on finding 2 wingers to complete on either first line with petey and boeser, with horvat and person or with miller and podkolzin. hoglander should play on one of those 3 lines. whether or not lind or gadjovich can take one of those spots remains to be seen. i just think we could be close on forwards to compete. i like hughes and rathbone going forward. schmidt and myers on the right. we need a couple of good d-men going forward and 2 forwards. jim is getting closer.
  12. so, if i come to cdc for some kind of consenses on what course the team should take, i come away with a headache. just everyone's opinion dashing off in every direction. this is why i prescribe the decisions being made by hockey people and not fans. as fans, we can't even agree on anything. we are also use every dissatisfaction to push our opinions on the future. i'm sure there is some truth to what everyone thinks, but we are infallable in our opinions. i just wish that people could leave name calling out of their arguements. otherwise i'm enjoying everyone's take on the situation.
  13. yes it has been a hard year for us, but i still look at the season from a player's point of view. it isn't fun for them losing. as far as the GM and coaches go, that is for the aquillini's to figure out. there is plenty blame to go around, including ownership. would a new GM want another rebuild and 5 years to get us to where we're close to getting to now? i'm not advocating not making changes, just being sure what moves need to be made. my wish is that someone makes decisions soon, get petey and quinn signed and either let the GM and coaches go or retain them. i'm sure those things are being considered now. eriksson, virtanen and roussel need to be addressed. decisions on edler, sutter and hamonic would be good to know too? my question would be, back when linden was fired, FA said is was because everyone was not on the same page. i read it as, we want to fast track the rebuild and trevor wants a proper rebuild. was JB, on board with ownership or wanting to keep his job? he still made plenty of mis-steps but which GM hasn't? i give cudo's to the players for battling through a tough year.
  14. i just realized that i have a gino ogick rookie card and one that is of cheech that says that he is the new assistant GM.
  15. we have 3 good centers on this team and JT is one of them. miller would be perfect mentoring podkolzin on his nhl career. i'ld rather see the canucks find a physical winger to compliment petey and boeser than trying to find a center who can carry and drive a line. i'ld much rather see us ice 3 scoring lines and 1 checking line than 2 and 2. just my opinion.
  16. you mean, after what the players went through?
  17. buffalo, anaheim, seattle and nj are the bottom 4 we would be 5th. we could win one game and still sit 5th. 2 wins and we're 8th or 9th. columbus, detroit, sj and la would end up below us.
  18. i agree batch but if the coaches reign him in too much, he becomes just another d man. he loses that electric stallion offensive weapon that he was drafted to be. fine line there. he just has to pick his spots and partner with a faster tanev type. i like having both quinn and rathbone on the power play. just wish they would be more fluid. all the PP'ers. there is something to be said about the old russian system. they were always in motion. but one thing i agree with lobby, is we still don't have a replacement for edler. eventually we could see, hughes and ..........; rathbone and woo; and juolevi and myers.
  19. there's only one direction you can go now. petey and i are at 4 each. don't know about anyone else. it's just for fun.
  20. canpuckluck and falcon with 6 each. not even halfway through the year, yet. they set a new record this year.
