  1. apparently tonights game canceled according to playy by play of the toronto game. boo.

      Just postponed.

  2. there will be more money because seattle will take someone from us. ? everything is easy for us but JB is living in the real world where it always takes two, to tango. after next season, most over paid contracts will be gone, if they can't be moved now, plus luongo's and spooners recapture contracts will be gone. it looks like pearson is going to be resigned. what will it cost us to a forward crew like this? hoglander...petey...boeser; pearson...horvat...lind; vesey...miller...podkolzin; motte...macewen...boyd/hawryluk that leaves, sutter, beagle, roussel, virtanen, louie and gaudette to move or not. i think JT can carry a line by himself. we should be able to make 3 scoring lines and one checking line. of course i'm just a couch potato with a key board.
  3. we were all a whopping 0 at one time. everyone's got to start somewhere. good luck lad.
  4. we shouldn't dismiss wingers either. if need be we could move JT to center and make 3 scoring lines.
  5. i have falcon and canpuck at 4 each and most of the rest at 2, unless i've missed someone.

      ...and so long Henry Huggins.

  7. i loved schmautzy's play. along with rosie bodrias and orland's play we had some things to cheer about. rip bobby.
  8. except no one know, everything that was happening then. not disagreeing with you but we don't have all the facts. lots of this could go into his figuring. i'm sure, rightly or wrongly, he knew he had to fix the defense. some scouts were saying that although OEL's skills weren't as good as they were, that he was still an effective leader and defenseman. i too am glad that didn't come to pass. jim has made mistakes and he admits to them but he has also added some promising players too. people that want him gone, only look at his mistakes. what gm's haven't made mistakes? there is a reason it has been 7 years and we all know why. once they were allowed to rebuild, jim and trevor were on board with a complete rebuild. FA was bleeding at the box office and told jim to take short cuts in the rebuild. rightly or wrongly, jim agreed. when trevor was holding fast,FA fired him, saying not everyone was on board with their decision. truth be told our fan base could never take a full rebuild and only want success right away. petey, hughes and others need time to develop their skills. could another gm do a better job? quite possible. but do we start playing musical gm's until we win a cup. imo, we are getting closer to success. i'ld like to see JB's finished product. as far as i know, cdc has never rebuilt an nhl team yet. maybe someday.
  9. imo, the OP and others should be saying that, they can't see a clear plan over the past 7 years. it doesn't mean they haven't got one. has it all worked out, no. when i look at what is on the team or coming soon makes me very hopeful. petey, boeser, miller, demko, horvat, podkolzin. hoglander, motte, lind, hughes, schmidt, myers, woo, rathbone, juolevi and maybe hawryluk, boyd and macewen. once eriksson, pearson, sutter, edler, benn, virtanen, roussel, beagle and holtby are gone, this team will look closer to JB's vision of this team. now if they can draft a clarke in the draft, our future defence will look very good. if players aren't traded or resigned, the place holders will be gone in 2 years. then hopefully JB can add enough, speed, grit and compete to take us to a stanley cup. good work JB. so far. yes the glass is half full.
  10. i thought i was watching the canucks wasted passes and loss of possession but it was the sabres.

Thanks Joe, I needed a chuckle.

  11. maybe it would be jake for nutavaara and a 2nd. i think he should get what he can for jake or leave exposed in the expansion draft.
  12. maybe virtanen for nutivarra out of florida according to top shelf hockey.rw for a rd.

I'm still not understanding how $2.55 million = negative value.

He got 36 points last year.

We're not talking $6 million and nothing to show for it Eriksson here.

negative value means you have to pay to trade someone

Eriksson = negative value I can see that.

Virtanen=  little value, but I can see GM taking a gamble, if a change of coaches/scenery would be

      worth a risk.

      There's a difference.

  13. is pods getting any closer to coming over? funny how every thing that benji does, brings out the worst in fans. i think these moves are low risk and can be walked away from if they are not what we need. we are definately going to lose players after this season by trade or let walk. there is a good chance that lind and pods will play next season. good luck canucks.
  14. if mchaelis is in, who comes out? is motte out again?

I think he was just brought up to be a warm body because Pearson went down.

  15. limbugh too. you must be the leader of the dead.
  16. if i'm seattle, i'm taking lind. we should protect him.
  17. i'ld like the logo to be like yours, with glittering stars flashing off and on. i'ld love to own a smyl's white flying skate jersey. my all time favourite jersey is stan musial's st.louis cardinals baseball jersey.
  18. not me. i'm just gonna be a kid from smithers for the rest of my life.
  19. how good is lind as a  center?

has he improved his defensive play? could he make 3rd line center next year? is there anyone else that could take sutter's spot next year?

First section in this article is about him.
TL;DR: First line deployment in Utica, been scoring more and playing as a center; his transition play is improving and apparently improving in draws as he flips his stick around to win draws.  Probably still a project but I wouldn't rule it out.

  20. the 3rd line isn't working but not a knock on the players, just their skills and weaknesses don't seem to gel together. they don't seem to compliment each other. maybe next year lind and hawrluk could play on 3rd line. i think the 3rd line is being used as a shut down line, but only sutter is true shut down player. your rankings are pretty good but if this was a 3 scoring lines, rankings could be different.
  21. i get my covid shot on the 18th. wondering how it works if a person has a weakened immune system?
  22. this isn't funny but when i read this, i thought you said you had a weekend mania. i was trying to figure out what that was. i hope they help you through this with meds. good luck lad.
  23. if i'm the owner of the canucks and turn to cdc for advice on what should be done, i'm confused. some fans want a new gm and assist gm, some want the scouting department turned over, some want new coaches but only the ones they choose, some want half the players gone, including someone wanted hughes traded because of his plus/minus while someone else suggested we should stip bo of the captaincy because we weren't winning with his leadership. ........ah, no. i think i'll ask proffessional hockey people where they feel the trouble lies? maybe it is just something that will correct itself over the course of the season. maybe it's the stick boy's fault. i'll wait till the seasons is over and look fully at every part of my club, so i know what is really going wrong.
  24. for once batchy, i have to disagree with you, if your saying if they don't win. they don't get paid. coaches set the course but the players have to sail it. they are playing better but i just see other teams being better. i'm sure the coaches can do better and that benning could have done better but like they say, it's where the rubber hits the road. the players either have to be better or new one brought in. some are still growing and refining their games and others are on the down slope of their careers. if managing and coaching was easy, everyone would be doing it.
