  1. We're all used to it but I'm talking about examples of the media adding a narrative to the incident.
  2. Do you have a link or an example of this? I don't recall the media specifically inserting any narrative around this shooting. We all saw the video, and for many, that was enough. I agree that this incident was far from the most egregious example of excessive use of force but it certainly could have been handled better. I also reject the premise that this protest was about Jacob specifically. Just like the George Floyd protests weren't specifically about George Floyd. They were about all of it. Countless videos of police brutality are out there, the majority of them specifically involving POC. There are countless examples of these same people being wrongfully accused, wrongfully arrested, wrongfully imprisoned, and even wrongfully executed. Living day to day in fear of law enforcement because of the colour of your skin is unacceptable and changes are needed but a certain segment of your population is doing everything they can to prevent that from happening. Many of them showing up to protests under the guise of protecting businesses but most of us see through the BS. They are there to intimidate and push back against a movement that opposes their own agenda.
  3. Where was the faux outrage when this numbnut had her booger hook on the bang switch? Oh that's right, they were pardoned and invited to speak at the Republican National Convention.
  4. Whoever is saying that is absolutely wrong.
  5. Maybe you need better headlines? https://www1.racgp.org.au/newsgp/clinical/blood-clots-up-to-10-times-more-common-with-covid Blood clots up to 10 times more common with COVID than vaccines: Study Research has identified the various risks of people experiencing cerebral venous thrombosis, which has been linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine. People who contract COVID-19 are 100 times more likely to experience cerebral venous thrombosis than the general population. People who contract COVID-19 are also 100 times more likely to experience cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) than the general population, a new pre-print Oxford University study has found. The research, conducted in the wake of numerous high-profile clotting cases linked to people who had received the AstraZeneca vaccine, found around 39 in one million people with COVID are diagnosed with CVT, compared with 0.4 per million people who had not contracted the disease. CVT was also found to be more common among people who received either the Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca COVID vaccines – at a rate of between 4–5 per million – meaning people with coronavirus are between 8–10 times more likely to develop the blood clots than those who have been vaccinated against it.
  6. Have you seen his parents? This nut didn't fall far from the tree.
  7. His goal against Panama was one of the most amazing displays of speed I have ever seen
  8. The Fraser River is covered in debris near the Alex Fraser. It looks like a log boom that extends as far as the eye can see up the south side of the river.
  9. 100 years ago Sumas Prairie was a lake. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumas_Lake
  10. That's Castle Fun Park there in case anyone was wondering where this is
  11. Well then I'm sure you'll have some competition. Good luck Bishop
  12. Anyone heading east or west of Chilliwack is hooped. Every hwy is closed. Apparently you can still go through Pemberton but I don't know how long that will last.
  13. For the record my use of cancel culture in the title was to mock these abhorrent nutjobs. To me this is akin to idiots calling Sandy Hook a hoax and then trying to hold a debate at the school. Or a holocaust deniers speaking at Yad Vashem. Some things you just don't do and it's okay for those of us with an ounce of human decency to point that out.
  14. https://www.straight.com/education/ubc-administration-cancels-event-featuring-mass-grave-denying-filmmaker-and-antivaccine UBC administration cancels event featuring mass-grave-denying filmmaker and antivaccine activist by Charlie Smith on November 12th, 2021 at 2:58 PM UBC This morning, Straight.com featured an article about an upcoming UBC Students for Freedom of Expression panel discussion featuring two controversial speakers. Hours later, the university banned the November 17 event, which was going to feature filmmaker Lauren Southern and sovereign-citizen supporter and antivaccine activist Kevin Annett, along with residential-school survivor George Brown. "To be clear, this was not an event sponsored by anyone at the University of British Columbia," UBC vice president Peter Smailes said in a statement. "The host of the event is an external group that is not endorsed by UBC." He went on to say that UBC has reviewed the requested event-booking. "Although the university does and will continue to support academic freedom, we have determined that this event should not proceed," Smailes declared. "We believe proceeding with this event would adversely affect campus and community safety." One of Southern's films is called "The Canadian Mass Grave Hoax", which absolves the Catholic Church of any guilt in the discovery of unmarked graves on former residential-school sites in B.C. and Saskatchewan. Annett has described himself as the convener of the Republic of Kanata, which has called for Justin Trudeau and others to be charged with treason and criminal conspiracy in a common-law court action for putting the country under a state of "indefinite martial law". "This destruction of our most cherished and fundamental liberties can never be justified, especially on the grounds of a Corona flu virus which is not as lethal nor as prevalent as a normal seasonal flu," Annett wrote in a post in April 2020. "Trudeau’s arbitrary actions and the police state they are creating are part of a proven global corporate agenda to impose mandatory vaccinations and bio-metric micro-chipping on a controlled and enslaved world population. We must all say no to this monstrous, genocidal plan." None of Annett's allegations have been proven in a Canadian court or tribunal hearing. Southern tweeted that she isn't surprised by the cancellation of the event." Not gonna lie, I'm "OK" with cancelling these morons, especially considering it's on Musqueum land. How about you Lauren?
  15. Let's look at how the 2 organizations were/are handled. The FBI infiltrated the black panthers to dismantle them from within. Governor Ronald Reagan repealed an open carry law in California in direct response to black panthers walking the streets with weapons. Proud boys run around open carrying while shooting people with paintball guns from the back of their pickups. I guess it remains to be seen how they will be handled but I wouldn't hold my breath.
  16. As others have hinted it's supposed to signify white power.
  17. The OK sign is supposed to signify a W and P. What could that possibly stand for I wonder?
  18. Hot yoga covid dude is dead. At least he manned up and didn't go to the hospital. https://globalnews.ca/news/8351684/bc-covid-denier-mak-parhar-dies-coroner-investigating/
