  1. Jared McCann the one that got away? Hard to believe we traded him away for Gudbranson and peanuts..

@Coconuts Not sure I like this argument. If we're just going to cite "hindsight" for opinions like these, then you could very well do it the other way around. Eg. does it make it not okay to praise Benning for drafting EP or even QH just because "a lot of folks didn't like those picks back then." Hindsight is definitely a thing, just not sure this is the proper use.

This is one of those situations where he wouldn’t be the player he is without being bumped around first.

I also think its a legit question of who of our top centres would you pull out in order to play him? Would not take him over Petey, Horvat or Gaud and if McCann was here he would be getting ice  time from one of them. We wouldn’t be playing him on the 4th line.

That's what makes him a valuable player.  He first a center but can be used as a goal scoring winger.  Put him with Petey (giving him another offensively skilled winger to feed pucks to) if we're down a couple goals.  Gives Green more different options to use.  And you can never have too many NHL caliber centers.

Canucks gave up on him far too soon.  Object lesson for those callilng OJ a bust.
