  1. That might be the most impressive.stat from what you mentioned
  2. Don't tell that to Canucktravella. Dane Fox is supposed to be better than Drouin according to him LOL
  3. I love the competitveness. There was an article I think it was here, that he really wanted to show hes every bit as good as Pettersson in the development camp. Gotta love that kind of confidence
  4. For a fans prespective, yes Seattle probably wont have the same passionate fanbase but from a business standpoint, Seattle makes a LOT of sense. Im not sure if you've been to many Seattle sporting events, but I have, Huskies, Seahawks, Sounders, Seattle is an amazing sports town. Trust me, even if the Huskies are playing a joe blow team, there is an absolute buzz in the city. The arena is in a good location, and one the biggest equalizers for a luke warm fanbase is sponsorship revenue. Seattle is booming especially with the tech giants like amazon and microsoft there, and a lot of the tech sector moving up stream, there will be no shortage in sponsor revenue. As much as there wont be a rabid fanbase, money is all that matters in the end.
  5. Makes a lot of sense now why he retired so early. During his last season in Buffalo, he was getting burned in the reels for being lazy etc not back checking which must be the cause of that disease. Hodgson was one of the better 2 way players in junior and for him to all of a sudden be lazy in his last year in Buffalo, I found hard to belive, usually guys that are known to play hard, they get instilled that work ethic. Either way, Im sure hes doing great things in Nashville. Oh what could've been had he still been a Canuck
  6. Goldobin if he pans out, hes Alex Semin. If he doesnt, hes also Alex Semin
  7. Dipietro and Demko, the double Ds having a goalie controversy in 4 years just like Lu and Cory Schneider. I can't believe we were at one time blessed with that kind of goaltending
  8. Id rather have Goldy on the big club rather than Vanek and Ericsson. The team looked absolutely slow tonight just by sitting out Virtanen
  9. I know everyone is talking about Boeser leading the Canucks in goals this year, but something tells me Baertchi is gonna be a close 2nd. Im expecting a fantastic year from Sven. When Green is behind the bench, Baertchi tends to really really put up numbers. Coach knowing the player really well, and what situation to put him in.
  10. Don't tell that to Canucktravella. He said Fox is a lot better than Drouin LOL, let alone Kole Lind
  11. Im bullish about netflix growth potential, like you said theres more competition with you mentioned, not to mention smaller streaming services and kodi etc., I don't see it being worth the investment with such small returns. Amazon is pretty much a no brainer, with all the Alexa stuff and expanding services with the amazon pantry and they are expanding their reach to asia, but stocks are off the roof. If you have the money, go for Amazon. This thread is great! didn't think one existed in CDC, good to get ideas from fellow Canuck fans on where to stash their money. Im currently scouting a lot of silver companies since theres a bit of value from the prices Ive seen. A good friend of mine told me to watch for any stock that has something to do with marijuana
  12. Im a fan of Boucher's as well. I can see him getting, like you said, 15-20 goals if given the oppurtunity. Its kind of like what happened to Granlund where he was flying under the radar in the beginning of the season when nobody had expectations for him and quietly put up a pretty good season. The kid is a whiz in the offensive zone, defintely looked dangerous playing the half boards on the PP
  13. For me I thought that Hague had Dylan McIlrath, Jamie Olesiak written all over him, big man thats slow with a cannon of a shot, but with a slow lifespan in todays league. Was hoping for Timmins but Lind is a pretty damn good player.
  14. I really think theres more there with Boucher, if given a chance, I think he can make a Markus Granlund type of jump. A guy that really wasnt sure where he fit to being a mainstay in the lineup. The key is the Canucks really have to change the way they run their PP, knowing the fact they got legit shooters now rather than the pass it to death to get a perfect shot garbage theyve been doing
  15. Sedin Sedin Megna, to hell with Boeser
  16. and Mika Noronen for a 2nd rnd pick
  17. I think Boucher can still be a good player, a PP specialist even but whats standing in the way right now is how the Canucks style of play. Its slowly changing but for the most part its still the same way. For example, the PP, how Edler doesn't pass to Boeser , the team ISNT used to having legitimate shooters on the team that are locked and loaded firing bombs on the faceoff circle area, like Boucher, and Boeser. The PP is the pretty much the same way as it was 7 - 8 years ago, you work for the point shot with traffic or down low cycle close quarters. The problem with that its the same BS year after year, with the same catalyst Sedin Sedin Edler, and youll always defer to something familar. Until the 3 swedes are off the powerplay or off the team, its going to be the same way all the time. Watch the Oilers, the Pens, Sharks, really high powered offences play, its the volume of chances they get from different areas of the ice is what makes them dangerous, and not the passing till you get the perfect shot type of deal we've been seeing the last few years with this team. I mean, how many times do we get a powerplay with 4 shots? almost never and the top teams seem to do this on a regular basis
  18. How is he valuable exactly? He's a mediocre penalty killer, absolutely horrible on the power play. I don't see how his contract is justified
  19. the key thing is to keep Boucher out of the pool. If Sbisa gaunce and boucher were unexpected, Boucher would be the guy i would pick, but if Sutter was in that pool rather than Boucher, I'd be more inclined to pick Sbisa as I really dont like Sutter's contract. Gaunce I don't think will get picked, 0 goals, is 0 goals, thats just too little production even if he is a 1st round pick.
  20. If he scores one or 2 more goals in the next 3-5 games, If I was Benning, I would do one of these things 1) I'd protect him over Sutter. Simply put, Sutter is overpaid for a 3rd, 4th line center, that can't seem to play the whole season. Sutters contract might scare off Vegas into taking him, and if they do, we are off the hook from his contract which is 4.5 million in the next 4 - 5 years? (too lazy to google) 2) throw a low pick Vegas way to tell them to lay off Boucher in expansion 3) SIT Boucher the rest of the season to prevent him from Vegas getting a real assesment on him. As a reward for his cooperation, he gets a 1 yr 1 way deal worth a million, and gets a good shot in making the team next season.
  21. RJ didn't sign here because Burke was lowballing him, like we are talking a 100k difference between what the Umberger camp wanted and Burke refused to budge
  22. says who? Whos the last power forward with size and a mean streak after Lucic to win the cup?
  23. Hello Boeser, get the F out of here Megna
  24. I beg to differ, yes substance abuse has something to do with it, and thats good hes making himself a better person other than being a much better player. Ive seen some of Kassians game this year, and honestly, the numbers aren't there but hes a FAR FAR better player now than he was ever as a Canuck. That being said, I have a few friends that DID that bumped into him in the Roxy and other bars around DT and said that he does overdo it a bit when it comes to alchohol. Remember, Kassian was handed the first line duties with the Sedins on a silver platter and he was put on the paces by Torts since he was out of shape, but can we attribute it from his alcholism or not working hard enough? Ive seen enough games to see that Kassian did lack on work ethic, but thats my opinion, agree to disagree, but he should've been a lot better player than he shouldve been.
  25. But Tomlinson sure does, and he knows a lot more than the rest of us and he stated in an interview that Virtanen is almost ALWAYS last one in, first one out of the ice every single time, thats why hes not on the team right now. The rest of the team is already dressed and stretching 10 minutes before they even hit the ice and Virtanen is just getting into the rink, what does that tell you, fanboy? Thats as per Tomlinson whos there on gamedays, dont deny your boy Fatty18 isnt acting like a pro
