  1. Good. Cole plays left or right side about the same. Soucy can anchor the second pairing ❤️
  2. So, Bo Horvat with money retained until the end of this season, and a 2023 (VAN) second round pick for: Fiilp Hronek Anthony Beauvilier Atu Raty 2023 (DET) fourth round pick hmmmm…..I’m a bit undecided on this but we now have a great DMan in Hronek and what appears to be a gem in Beauvilier and a skilled prospect in Raty, Do we call it a win?
  3. As much as I dislike the Leafs for the “center of the universe” attention (entitlement?) they get from our national media, I wish nothing but the best for Luke Schenn
  4. It’s not a bad deal for either team. The NYR move a player with who they don’t exactly have a great history and don’t have room for on their roster, and Vancouver gets another project with a ton of upside, one more year of waiver exemption, and who wants to be here. Edit: Kravtsov can also play all three forward positions.
  5. Just an opinion here: we need a 1rw for our first line, we don’t have many prospects on the right side, but Kasperi Kapanen isn’t it. If we had to move Boeser to make room for Kapanen, we’d be downgrading our 2rw position and STILL not have a 1rw. Beauvillier is currently playing on his off wing to fill in where JT would have been on the top right side. JT is our 2c right now and we need him there. I don’t think Klimovich is ready to move up to the big club yet for RW duties. We have a lot of LW projects (prospects?) in Abbotsford but none would be a sure thing for the 2rw position were they to switch sides.
  6. It’s fine if we don’t trade JT. He’s had a rough year defensively (so has the entire team) but he could still top 80 points and reach 30 goals. He’s a solid 2c/1w and 8m per season isn’t out of line for what he brings. He’s got a lot of passion and drive and wants to win. If I’m a team looking for a 2c, he’s a fine option, even with the contract length. We don’t NEED to trade him, either, and although cap flexibility would be great, who is replacing JT Miller on our team as the 2c if he is moved?
  7. If Kravtsov were already in the AHL, I’d trade in a heartbeat because working with the Sedins could do wonders for his game in terms of improving his positioning without the puck and strength conditioning. Unfortunately, he’s no longer eligible for waiver exemption. I guess we could keep him on the big team, but I’m not sure having him in the bottom six is ideal. We could put him on the RW with Miller or Dryes if we move another winger out since Kuzmenko is a LW playing RW at the moment. I feel that if we did a trade, it would need to be a roster player to give Rangers added depth and a prospect in the AHL for Kravtsov
  8. I think this is a fair deal. Beauvilier slots into the second line LW behind Kuzmenko, and his cap is lower than Bo’s with only one more year on his deal, We also got the Islanders top prospect in center Raty, AND we got a mid round 1st! We got all that for Bo, who was always going to play behind Petterson in the depth chart, and whose contract expectations were much higher than his actual value, and who we weren’t going to sign. Depending on how things look closer to the deadline, we could move the first (or any other part of this return) in another deal.
  9. Hey Tryamkin...

    u up bb?

  10. You pretty much nailed the issue. Adding, if this year’s cap situation looks rough, look at the next two years when most of our Top prospect contracts come due, those anchor contracts need to be replaced, and most of our star players also need new contracts.... all with a cap that is probably staying flat for likely two more seasons.
  11. Oh that’s right. Well, let’s see where that deal lands. The Rangers say they want to sign him long term but he’s filing for arbitration so whatever they have offered hasn’t moved the needle enough.
  12. Depending how all the other Ranger signings go and when it’s sent, we could send an offer sheet to Tony DeAngelo. I doubt he’d sign, the Rangers probably match, but he’s got lots of skill and we could use him on the right side I expect Virtanen to sign or be awarded around 2.5 to 3m which is a little high but not out of line with his production. Also, all the complaints I read about him are the same things that were said about Todd Bertuzzi early in his career: the seeming lack of interest, lack of effort, questioned hockey IQ, etc. So, let’s say Virtanen isn’t going to be a first liner, but does he project to a second line power forward? I think so.
  13. I also like Vatanen as a signing but we need more deterrents on the blueline than small(ish) finesse players.
  14. Benning, I surmise, is avoiding long term contracts (unless the player is superstar) right now because we have all those RFA contracts coming in the next two years: 2021-22 Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, Thatcher Demko 2022-23 Brock Boeser, Jack Rathbone, Zack MacEwen The UFA situation looks better, but Bo and JT are due for raises 2023-2024 season also: 2021-22 Tanner Pearson, 2022-23 Braden Holtby, Tyler Motte By not locking into longer deals with Tanev and Markstrom, there is more money to keep our youth corp paid and also do more free agent signings to extend our window to win the cup. It sucks losing them both, but Markstrom no longer fit the plan because of the expansion, and Tanev just isn't a top 2 D on a cup challenging team (which is where he slots if he plays with Hughes).
  15. Yes, Canucks and Virtanen team can negotiate up to the hearing. I'm guessing he'll land somewhere around 2.5 to 3 million per (?)
  16. Wow, I'm reading some of the negative comments and ridiculous comparisons in the earlier pages and I don't get it: Motte brings a ton of energy, shows up to play every night, chips in the occasional goal, and seems able to throw a decent bodycheck, all of which is more than most of our other bottom six players did in the same opportunity. His caphit is 1.25 Million for two years. No, I have no idea what people have to complain about with this signing (except maybe that we haven't got the Tofolli/Tanev situations sorted yet)
  17. As weird as it is to consider losing a number one goaltender of the stature of Jacob Markstrom to free agency, signing Holtby to less money and less term makes a lot of sense: Demko projects as our 1a goaltender in the near future, Holtby can be the 1a for the present, there's an extra million+ plus per season to spend on other players, AND we have a Vezina trophy winning Stanley cup goaltender who doesn't need to be protected in the upcoming expansion. Win/Win
