Oilers Set for Season of Celebrations
With opening night of the 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers season less than one month away, the Club is delighted to announce a series of celebrations throughout the year recognizing career milestones, contributions to the game and our community, as well as a new initiative to acknowledge the achievements of Oilers greats.
Most importantly, this year’s season of celebrations gives the organization the opportunity to include Oilers fans who were unable to attend games last year due to the pandemic.
Joey Moss Dressing Room Tribute: In recognition of contributions to the Club dating back to the 1980’s and the indelible mark left on the organization and community by the late Joey Moss, a unique dressing room tribute will be unveiled by current Oilers on September 28th.
Kevin Lowe Banner Raising Celebration: To acknowledge his incredible accomplishments on and off the ice as an Edmonton Oiler and his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Club will proudly raise Kevin Lowe’s number 4 to the rafters of Rogers Place on Friday, November 5th with the New York Rangers in town.
Recognition of Edmonton Oilers Greats: A new and exciting area for fans to celebrate Edmonton Oilers of distinction is also in the early planning stages with more details to be announced later in the season.
Media Wall of Honour: The Club is also pleased to be adding more names to its Media Wall of Honour later this season. The 2022 induction class will be selected and announced in the new year.
