  1. I stand by what said. And these things have a way of coming out in the wash, Hopefully, when this deal is done some of the offers will be made public, and then we'll see where we stand. Till then...believe what you wish, Back to work now
  2. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=60628&blogger_id=128 This blogger is on the Hawks Payroll, so you can always count on him for Hawks deal posturing. Interestingly enough, the few sentences about Shaw have been removed since earlier today. Either someone from the Hawks decided they didn't want that out there and had it pulled from the article, or I'm making the whole thing up, and since this is CDC I'm pretty sure you'll opt for that later, c'est la vie! The Ducks offer happened at the deadline and came from Bryan Murry himself addressing a group of season ticket holders who wanted to know why the Kesler deal didn't happen. They asked, he answered, he was very forthright and told them exactly what he had on the table and how amazed he was that the Canucks passed.
  3. No, I mean the ones where ANH offered us 10th, 24th, Etem or Pallmieri, and their 2015 1st and CHI offered us Shaw and TT
  4. I posted several new factors that have direct bearing on where the market for Kes is at the moment, and a hypothesis based on those factors. I put them out there for the purpose of discussion, either you agree or don't and you post the reasons why, then we are able to discuss those as well. From where I stand, that is appropriate use of a Kesler discussion thread. When people start throwing around personal terms like "Clueless" In a non-personal, anonymous forum I tend to think they have come here, not to discuss hockey, but to look for an ego-lift they aren't getting in the real world. My background in Psychology has shown me the hard science that supports this conclusion. At any rate, I would have expected better from you, I'll go back to talking Hockey and you go back to doing whatever you are doing here.
  5. ANH has begun the media posturing... Saying they are interested in Spezza, I know they would rather have Kes but they are clearly floating that out there to let Benning know they have other options. Our leverage is slipping away by the day, We have just lost leverage with CHI and ANH, I think it's too late now. They didn't strike while the iron was hot, they pulled an MG and waited for un-realistic deal to happen. I expect to have an un-happy Kesler in training camp, and a Luongo 2.0 situation to drag on through out the season, before we finally either lose Kes to FA, or let him go for much less then what has been offered. The market was re-hot for Kes and now it has cooled significantly.
  6. As I understand it, that guy is on the Hawks payroll, so what you hear from him is most likely negotiation posturing.
  7. It's out there, http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=60628 The Shaw offer was reported several days ago, The TT connection I am just assuming, I can't imagine Benning even discussing a deal that didn't start with with him. Benning is on record as saying he wants something to help us now, and in the future. So my guess is that TT was agreed on for the future, the NOW player was what they couldn't agree on.
  8. So, we now know that CHI offered Shaw and Terravainen, Benning countered with Saad and Terravainen CHI walked away from the deal. Terravainen is a top center prospect and Shaw is Marchand in the making, and a 20 goal scorer to boot. Would FLA have taken Shaw and 6th for 1st overall? Did we walk away from a great deal? Could we have both Terravainen and Reinhart in our prospect pool, having made this deal? Add Horvat to the list and that is scary center ice depth.
  9. I already shared it back at the deadline, but sure once more for old time's sake. Etem OR Palmieri, OTT's 1st rounder 2014, ANH 1st rounder 2014, Gillis took it to ownership, they said no, ANH kicked in their 2015 1st rounder as well. Owners apparently shot that down too. So there you have it. Oh, and for future reference, I much prefer being called a "Poo-poo-face" Thank you, goodnight......and god bless America
  10. I might be wrong but I think the last D-man to go #1 was Eric Johnston.....and he's "meh"
  11. No, I do know EXACTLY what the Ducks offered at the deadline, Whether it's the same deal now I couldn't say, although today's rumor was close to what was on the table back then, not quite as good, but good enough IMO. As far as the market being affected by the slew of top centers available, you are correct in saying Thorton or Spezza do nothing for PITTS, but they could be appealing options for ANH or CHI, take a second look at what those teams are looking for and you'll see the two afore mentioned centers are serviceable options. So we are no longer the only gas station in town so to speak, some of our bidders now have other options. That could affect the quality of offers we receive. You are obviously intelligent, so there's no need for me to spell out how that might be the case.
  12. Excellant suggestion, As far as I know the Isles have some really good prospects at center ice, Nelson and Strome I believe. I would be happy if Trev/Benn switched gears and focused on some of their prospects instead.
  13. Hmm, so they are offering us less then what they did at the deadline. I think a realistic scenario would be Etem and 6th, maybe with the 2nd rounder thrown in if Tallon asks for it. Or, I think a huge possibility, even though it contradicts what Tallon has said publicly, is that he asks for 6th and 10th. That would get him Nylander and Ehler's correct? At any rate, if we trade Kessler, lose none of our developing assets, end up with Reinhart and Virtinen (Sp) or Reinhart and Etem, then this will be one of the greatest summers in Canucks history. BTW I'm texting with a friend who works for the Ducks, not directly with Murry so don't get too excited, but he says something is imminent. He's not a bankable source but he does hear things around the office, so take that for what it's worth.
  14. No idea, But knowing what their owner is like, they want something CHEAP! His price probably depends on his contract, Anyone know Spezza's contract details?
  15. I believe BUFF is on record saying they want 2 top prospects that are ready to step in, In our case, that would probably mean Horvat and 6th, or possibly Horvat and Shinkaruk depending on how BUFF feels about his hip, or something involving Kassian. At any rate it isn't a price we would be willing to pay. The unfortunate thing thing is that due to NMC's the afore mentioned players and picks are what EVERY team will ask of us, we really don't have any other tradable assets.... ...unless... We deal Kesler for tradable assets. On that front something just broke that could affect us, The Sens just went public with Spezza's trade demand, and although they are completely different players, another top center on the market DOES affect the price for Kesler. Trev/Benning need to stop screwing around, I know for a fact ANH will give us what we need to acquire Reinhart and still have a little left over. And though I am no MG hater, It did bother me when then were perfectly sound deals on the table, and he would hesitate, hoping that by some miracle the price would drop and he could "Win" a trade. ANH offered us a more than fair deal, it helps both teams as a good trade should! Trev/Benning, pull the damn trigger!
  16. Even more interesting! Tallon just came right out and said he's drafting Ekblad, if he retains the pick. What he's trying to do is drive up the price on the Oiler's Tallon is working hard to play the Leafs, Oiler's and us against each other. Well played Dale! I haven't posted this much on CDC in years, I'm really enjoying this draft It's about 10 x as entertaining as this years final
  17. It's posturing for Tallon, Horvat is what he originally asked for, This article and the twitter quote from yesterday were ailed directly at FLA Benning is saying: "You want 6th? better drop the price, or have fun paying Phanuef for the next seven years" The Twitter quote "You can bet we will be using that pick" was his way of telling Tallon, "If you deal the pick to anyone below us (Namely the Leafs) the player you want will be GONE by the time you get there." The game is afoot!!
  18. Bennet is no bigger though, Burke may have no choice but to draft a small player. I suppose he could take Leon, he's around 200, right?
  19. Yep, sounds about right. Calgary will be taking the best offensive player possible with their pick, we can be sure of that, The only question is: are they down for the Nylander gamble? I think they probably might be, conversely I know EDM is not. The last thing they want is Yak V.2.0. A re-building BUFF will take the safest player available, probably Reinhart if he's still there, or Bennet, of course Ekblad means Tyler Myer's is expendable and there might be some nice assets coming their way for him...offensive assets, so it's a win/win for BUFF. So many possibilities, This has seriously been the most fun draft in....I can't even remember how long, Hope you guys are enjoying this as much as I am
  20. You aren't honestly suggesting Kesler would go to FLA? C'mon man, you're smarter than that, Those of us who have the capacity for critical thinking, owe it to our fellow CDC's to bring our "A" game when we post here, You have that ability, please use it.
  21. With Hurberdeu (Sp?) having taken a step back and none of the players you've mentioned breaking out in a significant way yet, not to mention that arena seats in FLA need filling... ...Tallon has no choice but to select the most charismatic offensive forward possible, because those guys sell tickets. Is that Reinhart, Ehlers or Nylander? Not knowing any of them personally I couldn't say, but that's who I believe Tallon will pick. The guy most likley to put a$$es in seats. On another note, I believe the "One fair offer" Tallon was referring to was TO's, I also believe HE leaked it to the media to drive up the price on US. My guess is this: In addition to the 6th Tallon asked for Horvat (already been leaked) Trev/Benning said no, he countered with Kassian, Trev/Benning said no. I believe they have already discussed what the potential return on Kess is, and that the only hope for this deal lies in that dept. I also believe that is why he didn't take the TO offer, he's waiting for the Kes deal to be done,
  22. Well, at least you are realistic about it, And not insisting we should be able to get him for an utterly painless price
  23. Wow, It's the same Tanev, 6th, Hansen and a 2nd proposals just like the other thread, I don't have the energy to go through this again....So I'll be brief We are NOT getting that pick by sending Tallon spare parts, He doesn't care about Tanev (Yes, I know you think Tanev is future Noris winner, but to the rest of the league he is just an average D-man), Hansen or any second rounders, and all our vets have NMC's Either we send him Horvat (Which is what is rumored that he asked for) Kassian, or our 2015 1st along with the 6th, or there will be no deal, The only other option is sending him assets from a Kesler deal, But as it stands now, if you want Reinhart, these are the kind of pieces you'll have to give up, Oh, and one more thing...stop with the Garrison proposals, there is NO WAY he would waive to go back to a team he just left, one that offered him more money than we did to stay. To think he would be included in any deal for 1'st is straight up delusional. Want to talk realistic proposals? Start thinking about what you DON'T want to give up, because that is what Tallon will be asking for.
