  1. ANH already offered that package at the deadline. They just didn't leak it to the media like PITT, Whether it will still be there in the offseason depends on how long ANH lasts in the playoffs.
  2. Trev will pull a Gretzky and resign before things get too bad.
  3. The funny thing is that Linden and Kesler are buddies, But lets be honest here. If this scenario comes to pass, Linden will be the figurehead and Nicholson will have the real power. There is no bigger Linen fan than me, but he might be a little too "Nice" to be a GM. Part of the job is being a bit of a Pr^CK
  4. God I hope Torts isn't given full rein. Shot blocking, zone clogging, over controlled B.S hockey is NOT something I'm willing to pay to see.
  5. That is my biggest fear, Not being a basement dweller, but that this team will start trapping to try and fake their way to a few wins. Any system that isn't about using the players skill and creativity to win should be banned. ILLEGAL DEFENSE RULE NOW!
  6. Goddamn it! The Canucks always do something big when I have a ton of work to do! This firing has me HOURS behind schedule... Must...close....browser.....window.....
  7. Yep, Most young Canuck fans have never lives through a "Dark age" Get ready for a half-full arena, because unlike other Canadian markets, if the team doesn't win, the fans don't show up.
  8. I can't recall many specifics from his Tampa days, other then he won a cup and quit due to battles with ownership. Seems like a positive section of his resume to me. Are there damning instances I'm unaware of?
  9. Hmm... you might have a good point there. Feaster is the GM of choice for meddling owners, ............not...............good........
  10. No, That would happen if Calgary ownership were our new GM. People need to get it through their heads that Feaster had no power in Calgary, the owners forced him into those stupid moves.
  11. Feaster gets a bad rap, Calgary ownership made all those dumb moves not him, he was a professional fall guy for an owner who wanted to run the team himself. If Feaster was actually in charge of a team things would be different. Actually he was.....and he won a cup, So there you go.
  12. It makes sense to bring Trev in as a figure head, his presence will get the seasons tickets renewed. Trev "hires" a new GM and then slips out the back door to cash his check. You can only play the Linden card once, it's the owners "Get out of jail free" equivalent. So I hope they know what they are doing.
  13. Yes, that's a good point. Maybe they will bring in a "Grim reaper" GM. But in that case it won't be Linden, Remember, Linden has some good friends still on the team, Kesler and Bieksa in particular. That might affect bringing Trev into the mix at this time.
  14. This could have a lot to do with Aquilini not trusting Gillis to make the Kesler deal in the offseason. That could be one of the most important trades in the history of this franchise, It could also have something to do with Gillis turning down what ANH offered at the trade deadline: Etem or Pallmieri, OTT 1st, and ANH 1st 2015 Gillis said no, Brian Murry was reportedly "Shocked" Maybe the Aquas were too.
  15. It's All about The Kessler to ANH, assets to BUFF, draft Reinhart 1st over all deal. This could be one of the most pivotal off seasons in this teams history.
  16. I haven't, I'm amazed at some of the Nonis nostalgia I've seen around here lately. When Gillis makes a move I can at least understand what he's trying to accomplish, even if the deal doesn't work out. With Nonis it sometimes felt like he was trying to make the team WORSE.
  17. I don't think Horvat will be playing here for another 2 years.
  18. Hmmm, that's interesting. Of all the teams mentioned I think Anaheim could use Kessler the most. Maybe there's a deal to be made between the Nucks, Ducks and whoever wins the lottery?
  19. I disagree, We need young offensive talent upfront. We need a blue chip center for the future, We need Reinhart. I'm perfectly willing to keep the defense we have and just let them age out.
  20. Lock him up for 4 years at 1.2 This is the first year I've seen glimpses of real skill from Kassian. If he continues developing, he'll cost too much to re-sign in 2 years. If he stays where he is, skill wise then were still paying him a decent 3rd line salary.
  21. PITTS doesn't have what we need. There was no deal to be made that would have been to our advantage. If Gillis was going to take some version of that crappy offer then thank god aqua man stepped in.
  22. Are we retaining 15% for this year alone, or for the entire length of the deal? If it's for the latter then Aquaman must be pissed.
