Mike Gillis interviewed for Panthers GM job
MoneypuckOverlord replied to EP40.'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
A GM's job is not to scout. that said he's my favorite gm of all time. very innovative and did his job outside the box such as introducing a circle locker room which other teams in the leauge have adapted too. No one is in the corner etc etc. Wish he got the job. I wonder what is taking him so long to get another job, but whatever he seems happy either way, would love to see him get the job. -

hopefully sooner bro. It's rare to see something like that happen. -
most injuries are the 4-6 week range, with the very less serious ones being day to day, and the more serious ones being 2-3 months. I am assuming it's an upper body injury he has suffered and if he has not practiced with the team yet, he will not play. Once week at least from first practice. don'd hold your breath for him to come back this series. I guess the break can help. We were able to get past the blues series without him, the Canucks will have to try to win 3 against the Knights without him.

I think he is. His hit count is high as hell, although it's one cannot argue, a 6th pick is expected to do more, but he is useful, just not like the other first rounders on the team. He is useful. Throws the body, willing to play an intense game, he will probably not lite up the score sheet, but he is helpful.

skip to 2:20 anyone know is he hurt? -
I don't think Dubas is stupid enough to add another 8 million dollar right now with the cap not going anywhere the next 2 seasons.

he's a 6'2 Canadian boy. Why not.

head says Canucks in 6, heart says Canucks in 5. I think Markstrom is going to come through again. Canucks have shown they have no problem engaging in a physical game at any point. Vegas is an oustanding team, but we have some massive sharp shooters that can end the game at the blade of their stick. Jake Virtanen now that he has seen life will have a strong series. He will hit through anything when the chance comes. team is confident by beating the stanley cup champions. I shouldn't be over confident, I feel more comfortable playing the knights then the Blues. Lehner does not scare me, but keep in mind I'm not underestimating him either. I feel we have the goaltending advantage and a better special teams then the vegas knights, just like the blues series, we have a special team. Physical game is a slight edge to the Knights but the Canucks can dish it out any day, anytime anywhere against anyone. so I am not worried about physical game. I like being the underdog too. I feel Motte is going to have another strong series.

I know it's not a huge difference but Edler made his NHL debut as a 20, Oli Juolevi literally just turned 22 couple months and maybe would have made his NHL debut as a 21 year old? who knows, i'm glad the coach is confident in him. HIs 18 games all of last year in the AHL was a huge development slow down and it was all played in 2018.

so Juolevi gets drawn in, in one of the biggest games of the season as his first game in the NHL? huge confidence booster for him glad he did ok with the 6 tiny minutes.

I hope Joulevi plays. He has a history of playing well in big games, 2016 gold medal game 2016 Memorial cup game. 2017 playoffs, was his team best skater, he was better then Mete and out played Sergechev in their first round. Top 3 scorer in the playoffs for his team in the playoffs Finnish league.
