  1. Well, I'll admit I was wrong, I thought EE was worth 24-27/year. But you check out his stats and HR+RBI were his only really good stats. The rest aren't even in the top 50.
  2. Was just reading about EE... says there's no market for him...not even 3 years at 20m/year. If he Would do 3 years at 15, would it be worth bringing him back? Put Pearce in the OF?
  3. But at that point you're basically hoping that Donaldson and Morales can carry this team offensively.
  4. Can't quote... but I can't see them trading tulo to give room for Goins, not until after next season if we stink the joint up.
  5. That's a deadly rotation Sale Pocello Price Pomeranz Bucholtz Maybe Wright or even him as a reliever to change up hitters timing on a daily basis or provide long relief... might make for a 110 win season.
  6. If the sign him to what Jay Bruce makes or a million more I think that'll be good and if we can add Revere or another solid lead off guy for about 6-8/year I think we we'all be in competitive shape. To me Revere fit last time and he's a left handed bat who gets on base. Bautista strikes out but we know he draws walks and will put up 25+ runs... to me a line up of Revere Donaldson Bautista Morales Tulo Martin Travis Pearce Pillar is not horrible. It allows us to be competitive if we can add some decent arms in the pen...however those seem really costly right now.
  7. Yea I would think Revere might fit better..I know what you mean. My thinking is 15-18 million is high for a guy who has rarely ran across the plate more than 85 times/year no matter what team he plays for. I guess I don't understand the hype. But for how often he gets on base, im thinking he must make poor decisions on the base Path? Would Revere not cost us 5-8 and provide the same skill set as Fowler?
  8. Lovely. They're going all in to reclaim dominance before the Yankees have their dynasty again.
  9. Well can he steal home? Because I'm not sure the likes of Pillar and upton can get him home. The underlying stats I look at is this Fowlers averages in the run scoring are as follows; 70-80 runs, 50 rbi, 12-15HR/year Pearce averages in the range of; 40Runs, 40 rbi, 15HR/year (Pearce plays much less games than Fowler) So my underlying thoughts are... does Fowler being on base, put enough pressure on opposing pitchers, causing his teammates to have better at bats. Is his defense stellar? Because to me, Pearce and Fowler appear to be almost identical when it comes to driving in runs. I just don't know that what Fowler brings is worth anything over 10-12/year.
  10. And talks that the Red Sox may still kick tires on EE. Now that his expected price is dropping. Why do we need Fowler? We have Pearce and their "runs across the plate" analytics are identical
  11. About 5% chance if he's still available in February and would sign for under 10.
  12. Welp....Benoit is gone as well, 1 year 7.5m deal in philly. Seems that relief pitching is no longer affordable. Expect us to bring in more affordable Loup types(they cost 1.5-3/year.
  13. Just looking at the numbers... Pearce vs Fowler, they put up eerily similar numbers and the Jays hope he can play the outfield. I don't think it's a stretch to think that Pearce is the moneyball solution to Fowler...you get the same player on the batting side of things for 33-40% of the cost. Very smart move.
  14. That's actually a beaut of a site, I usually use sport trac. If we were to sign Fowler we will roughly have to average 1.5m/player to fill out the roster and comply within Rogers' supposive cap. I could honestly see Donaldson getting traded before his contract is up as he'll most likely cost 20 million.
  15. So my question is now.... Does Smoak remain? Or does he get thrown into a Bruce trade? Edit: does it matter?
  16. Yes it does. To many holes to be filled. What we see is what we get with. Nothing else really significant. I feel we aquire Jay Bruce this week and that if everyone is healthy we MIGHT compete for a wildcard spot.
  17. I'm pretty much in the same boat. We need speed but I bet the roster is pretty much set. Upton, Pillar and zeke in the outfield with Pompey as 4th. Just need to add a back up catcher and some bullpen arms. It'll get us through the season. i don't really see Fowler bringing enough for 15-18/year. 13hr,48 rbi. Strikesout 1/4 of the times he bats. I dunno...
  18. I looked at first and thought that was a rat... lol had to look close to see that it's a Pom.
