They played Edmonton last night so you’d think that would be against them. That being said, we always lose games that we “should” win

And a 6-9 record and we miss! Which makes every game mean something probably right until the end

I just think Hughes isn’t strong enough YET, when you have a dominating power forward like mackinnon. And the rest of the D is too slow to contain him.

Edler gives so many suey passes

That’s Edler’s MO though. He’s never made the safe, smart play.

WE don’t deserve the playoffs if we can’t play the level of hockey that is required down the home stretch.

Because the games for the last 5 or so have been essentially playoff games. Other teams have picked it up another gear now that their seasons are on the line. We don’t have that extra gear or desire to play in intense games yet. We tend to play like a bunch of Lethargic Louis’ when the games matter the most.

Potentially all 3 first rounders could be top 10 overall..... that could fast track a rebuild in a hurry.

I just don’t think if someone like Reaves, Kassian or Lucic(etc...everyone but us seem to have 1)is in Markstrom’s grill setting up a screen, that anybody not named Meyers, would be able to move them. Remember things get tougher and grittier in the playoffs. I love the idea of Parayko, but let’s be honest, a team looking to repeat cups, isn’t going to trade a guy like that. the one guy who intrigues me that is available is Dumba... he might be a good 3rd pairing guy... depending on the cost.

He literally had the best season of his career last year and the 2nd best the season prior to that. This year he only had 5pts playing for Babcock and whatever weird power struggle was happening there... he’s been a ppg D-man since Babcock was fired. He’s about a 55-65 point D-man now. He’s not as bad as everyone here is making him out to be. However that being said, I feel that with Hughes, we don’t need Barrie. We do however need some grit on the backend. Our D as a W(hole) group is softer than charmin. I’d have no problem trading out someone like Stetcher for a bigger, meaner defensman to help with crease battles in the playoffs as I feel only Benn and Myers have enough strength to battle in front of Markstrom.
