  1. I 100% believe that Jack Hughes will not be a 1st line player, he will be a average player. If we get the #1 pick we should trade it for a lower draft pick and get someone else and more assets
  2. I did, I realize that he is a very good skater but his ability to pass the puck and shoot is pretty average tbh. Maybe he will change my mind in WJC but he would have to improve a lot.
  3. Am I the only one who thinks Jack Hughes isn't that good? He is a really good skater but his shot isn't that great and his visions and hands aint that great either. I kind of see him as a second line winger more than a center. He reminds me of Teemu Terraveinen (however his name was spelled) like a good player but not one where you build a team around.
  4. Elias Petterson reminds you of Jack Hughes? How? LOL
  5. I actually like to see Leipsic-Petterson-Motte as the second line. I hate the idea of having Eriksson on the RW as he is pretty useless since signing here. Motte can be the guy that chases and gets the puck to Petterson and Leipsic. Leipsic and Petterson seems to read off each other pretty well so I like to see the third guy help get them the puck.
  6. Something I noticed about Petterson in this game is that he can be easily bumped off the puck. But, he has tenacity and hunts for the puck when he loses it. Also, he is very good defensively. I do expect Petterson to be in Canucks uniform this season for his wrist shot alone because it is quite lethal. HOWEVER, I do expect Petterson to get 30-45 points this season but will get his points in the later half of the season. I fully expect a learning curve for Petterson as he will struggle for the first 20-25 games of the season where he will probably get 1-5 points in those first 20-25 games but will get to the 30-45 point range once he gets accustomed. So Canucks fans should temper their expectation in the first 20-25 games of the season...
  7. I agree with your statement. He reminds me of hammer too. But hammer was a good defenceman in the NHL before he was 30 years old. Hammer's decline started at 30
  8. I have to admit. I was excited when Juolevi was drafted. However, I do not know why but Juolevi looks like $&!# in the preseason game and the penticton games. His passes were always too hard for the forwards to receive and his defense is lackluster especially when a forward challenges him. Not sure what his problem is cause he looks different from his draft year. The problem I see with Juolevi right now is that he is slow to react to everything on the ice. EX: defending, passing, and shooting.
  9. I can see why people wanted Glass. But I wanted Petterson right from the beginning because I see him as a 1st line playmaking center. Also, my ranking was Petterson, Vilardi, Glass. Petterson and Vilardi makes the players around them better. Glass is a good player but doesn't have the quality to make players around him better; at least in my opinion.
  10. If people are mad at Benning for not drafting Vilardi. Think of it this way, Detroit passed on him too and Detroit is master class when it comes to drafting. So there think of that.
  11. Not sure why everyone says that Petterson is high risk when he plays against men. I wouldn't mind Vilardi but please do not draft Glass, I do not see him as a 1C or a 2C in the NHL.
  12. Hopefully we get Petterson. I honestly think Petterson is better than all the centers available in this draft except for Patrick.
  13. All im saying is Virtanen will make the NHL but not as a 1st or 2nd liner but most likely as a third line grinder whom hits and gets puck to people who score. As for the scoring touch everyone says he has, his shot is hard and nice but his accuracy sucks and its slow getting off of his stick; just look at his ahl production. So Virtanen as a puck retrieving third liner is a good projection for him considering his skillset.
  14. I like how you think Virtanen can get 40 points in a season lol. People, Virtanen is a third line winger and was projected as such. He is not going to be a power forward that everyone dreams of. If everyone keeps making him become the next Lucic will only stunt his growth and be disappointed. Virtanen is a third line winger and a grinder; similar to Jannick Hansen with a little more offensive ability. Virtanen was a bad pick at the spot we chose him but nonetheless he can be useful in the playoffs in the future but only as a third liner or a complimentary piece on a second line with a very good center. I only expect his career season to be around 15 goals and 15 assist or a maximum of 30-35 point season.
  15. Unless Hutton improves his shot, I do not see him here for the future. He will probably be packaged for a forward in the future.
  16. Tbh, I only see these players as the core of the future. ? Horvat Boeser Dahlen ? ? Granlund ? Virtanen ? ? ? Defence: Stetcher Juolevi ? ? ? ?
  17. Watched Nolan and Hischier's highlights and to be honest I do not like either of them. However, I keep hearing the name Liljegren and WOW. This is guys really good Offensive Dman. The thing that impresses me the most is how he fakes his slapshots. He looks for an open pass first and if he doesn't see anything then he takes the shot. Also, he can flex his stick like crazy for snap shots and he skates incredibly well.
  18. To all the people who've never played hockey before, Virtanen isn't that great of a skater. Its good and all to be able to go straight up really fast but everyone can do that in the nhl. Its about edge control and Virtanen doesn't have good edge control. Plus, from what I see from him, he is pretty one dimensional. He will be a terrific third liner or a good second liner but definitely not a first liner. So wasting a draft #6 on a good second liner isnt worth it when you can draft a potential first liner.
  19. God your an idiot. Please stop offering your opinions on Virtanen. We are not drafting him at #6.
  20. Wth....what you said made no sense. Muscles add more strength which translates to power to stride and therefore faster skating and balance.
  21. no plz, hes not that impressive to be taken at #6. People need to realize that just because hes a mainland kid, does not mean hes gona turn out to be good. Ehler is the one the canucks should get at #6 but only if no one else in the top 5 drops out of ranking.
