Benning should now be the most hated Canuck in franchise history. He has ruined this team in such a way that Messier couldn't even imagine.
-
Oh look, after the Canucks are penalized, the rule is modified... Shocking.
-
How would you feel about Vancouver winning a Stanley Cup, but then being exposed for cheating like the Astros?
-
The hate the Astros players and fans got for winning that championship while cheating was worse than any hate I've seen directed towards any NHL team, at least to me. People legitimately wanted MLB to strip them of their title. You'd have to have a pretty thick skin to be able to withstand it all.
That being said, even a tainted championship would be more fun than none at all.

End of the Auston Matthews saga in Toronto?

Draft lottery is blatantly rigged. Everyone should boycott watching Blackhawk games. Covering up SA should not be rewarded.
-
Honestly, you should go further and boycott the entire league, not because they rigged the draft lottery, but because they saw an organization that covered up a literal crime against an innocent victim and said 'best we can do is a $2 million fine'.
I'm too weak and probably won't be able to follow through with it myself, but you should.

What's your opinion on Chris Cuthbert?
-
It's hard to describe, but the best PXP guys to me are the ones who blend their commentary with the flow of the game. There are some guys who either overdo it or underdo it to the point where their commentary becomes distracting.
Just as an example, I don't always love Harnarayan Singh's commentary because he sometimes struggles to articulate what's happening on the ice at game speed (nothing against him from a personal standpoint).
Cuthbert is in that school of PXP guys who know how to pace themselves with the game. My all time favourites include him, John Shorthouse, Gord Miller, Jim Hughson and Jim Robson because they know when to ramp it up or dial it back. You don't become distracted by what they say, rather it adds to the experience.

Why is everyone here convinced we can sell Myers after his bonus? He gets it Sept. 1. What kind of team wouldn't be cap compliant that late into the offseason? No team.

NHL signing bonuses are paid on July 1, I believe, unless you have information that Myers' bonus will be paid later than that.
Myers' base salary for next year is only $1 million, if the Canucks retain some of his contract, that should be enough time to get something done. Not saying it's gonna be easy or that the Canucks won't have to give up picks/prospects to do it, but I don't think it's impossible. Some team trying to reach the cap floor might consider it.

I must say I do enjoy a steamed ham.

Where is that link that shows the last 10 years the Canucks record of the last 20 games per season? Anyone know?
-
I think a couple of winning streaks at the end of the 2015-16 and 2017-18 seasons helped shape the perception that the Canucks always ruin their draft position by winning late in the year. Thing is, each of those winning streaks were preceded by 7+ game losing streaks, so it was more regressing to the mean than anything.
The Canucks even lost their last 8 games in regulation to finish 2016-17 and still fell three spots in the lottery. Not to say there isn't value in boosting your draft position, but it's always a bit of a crapshoot.

7-2-1 in the last 10 with one of the easiest remaining schedules in the entire league. I'm afraid we've seen this scenario before....
-
I've come to accept that the Canucks are the Mariners of hockey. They're not competitors, they're protagonists. Sure, winning and losing at the right time is nice, but that's not the point of this team and it never has been.
Once you let go of the idea that the Canucks are supposed to make any sense, it becomes easier to embrace the chaos.
TL;DR - the Canucks aren't a hockey team, they're a hockey meme.

So your franchise is floundering in mediocrity and your move is to hire a convicted criminal with a losing record?
-
I mean, at least we have Garland and OEL and all that sweet sweet cap space.
Right?

lame thought there was a game tonight.

Not really sure why AV. was banned. Looking at his past few posts I did not see anything ban worthy.

The Canucks are a lousy hockey team but a pretty entertaining reality show.

What would it take for the fans to be finally get Aqualoonie to sell the team banners and widespread chants? We need ideas where is the team tank commander Uncle LALEET?

Dylan Guenther and an extra $12m in cap would sure be nice right about now.
