  1. I'd be banned if I posted what I really thought about Zverev. Guess I'll just say that the list of reasons why I can't stand him is approaching encyclopedic length.
  2. Happy David Ayres Day, everyone.

    1. Nuxfanabroad

      Nuxfanabroad

Should be a national holiday indicating when the leafs start falling.

  3. I'm honestly impressed that the previous management group built a team that's both small and slow.
  4. Probably the most offensively talented Team Canada I've ever seen. Didn't really matter if they could only muster about 20-25 shots in the games they played against the US, they scored pretty much whenever they felt like it. When they pumped Finland 11-1, a team that has given Canada a tough time in the last few years, I knew they had something special going.
  5. I'm convinced that Poulin can score whenever she wants, she just chooses to limit her powers to keep things interesting.
  6. Felix finally wins his first ATP title after losing his first 8 finals. Now that stupid meme can die once and for all.
  7. There's a contingent of Leafs fans that think Campbell is better than Demko. Almost makes me think the Canucks gave up 53 shots on purpose just to settle that debate.
  8. You jest but there are actually people out there who look at Demko's traditional stats (GAA, SV%) and think he's just an average goalie. Nobody who spends any amount of time watching the Canucks could possibly say that.
  9. Away matches in CONCACAF are never really meant to be Picassos. As long as they win, I can't really complain.
  10. Am I the only one who just did a knee slide in their own living room?
  11. It's honestly a travesty to the sport in a certain sense. The Penguins, Hawks and Lightning managed to build perennial Cup contenders around their superstars by the time they were around the same age McDavid and Draisaitl are now. Meanwhile, the Oilers are wasting their superstars' primes and the only reason I find it funny is because they're the Oilers.
  12. Well it's a good thing the Oilers don't have any of those working in their front office. If I'm being serious, I do actually think the upper management group is the big thing that's really holding their organization back. From Bob Nicholson down, there really doesn't seem to be any accountability. Tippett publicly throws Koskinen under the bus, Holland says the solution is in the locker room, McDavid more or less says they don't know what the answers are. IMO their dysfunction goes well beyond not having the right players at this point.
  13. To be honest, the Oilers being a mediocre playoff bubble team could be way more damaging for them long-term than bottoming out altogether. If McDavid and Draisaitl do just enough to convince their management that they can actually contend with this group, they might continue to double down on what they're doing now instead of realizing that it probably won't work and making serious changes. I don't really care whether they get in the Canucks' way this year. So long as they aren't a long-term threat to contend, I'm fine to see them continue to be a bubble team.
  14. Even funnier when you realize that Lu was in the box right next to Kodak.
  15. In case anyone is wondering, just search up Kodak Black. Apparently the Panthers weren't the only ones scoring at the game today.
  16. Raiders winning means they play the Bengals. Had they tied, they would have played the Chiefs instead. Going for the win made sense for them (all due respect to the Bengals).
  17. I can't believe this is actually happening.
  18. The ATP Cup is only three years old, so this is Canada's first title, yes. You could tell how badly both Denis and Felix wanted this. They both had to gut through some tough matches, sometimes together in doubles, to get this done. Really hoping they can build some momentum from this, especially Felix who is 0-8 in singles finals in his ATP career. Winning the deciding singles match in the final should give his confidence a boost.
  19. I'm genuinely curious what would happen if both teams were found guilty of colluding to tie the game. Someone on Reddit found a section of the rulebook that says the commisioner could intervene in such an event: Question is what the punishment would be. Award both teams a loss? Force them both to replay the game? Part of me really wants to see the fallout from this.
