I'll have the Alberta beef striploin, and an Albino Rhino.

Really? I like the P49 wheat ale, I think it's called jerk face. I also like red truck's lager...not the most unique or exciting beer but it's good nonetheless.
I mentioned it in the beer thread but recently I had persephone's pale and golden ales and thought they were both very good, particularly the pale ale.

Yeah. I judge a brewery on their pale ale or IPA. Don't like theirs, and don't like all the foo-foo stuff like Seed-Spitter, and beers that are flat out awful like Ruby Ale, so they don't get my business.
If they improve I'll give them another chance, but I see them as making beer that is trendy or marketable instead of just making a good beer and letting the rest take care of itself.
Persephone is actually up for another go. I had it middle last year and thought meh, but breweries are tweaking (or should be willing to tweak) just like a home brewer.
Cat 12 has a pretty balanced pale ale. If you like a good pilsner Moon Under Water makes a great one fairly consistently.
When it comes to ales though it's all about Fat Tug for me. Fat Tug, Fat Tug, Fat Tug.
Fat Tug.

I really enjoyed Persphone and I'll definitely be buying it again in the future. I can't say I've tried any other p49 beers but I'm not so inclined to now.
I'll drink just about any beer but I'm not a fan of ipa's. The Bowen island IPA won awards but I thought it tasted like tree bark myself. Generally I don't like overly bitter beers, but that's where I enjoyed the Persphone PA- it was bitter but still delicious.
and thanks for those recommendations, I'll be sure to try them.
