I've smoked a few briskets successfully (and a couple bombs), pork butt, ribs etc but lately I've been getting into stuff that doesn't take the whole day.

Chicken wings are only a couple hours and still bring all that smoky goodness!

Soooooo when should we stop by 

There used to be one that went off regularly in our parking lot in the middle of the night.  So annoying.

Update:  

The house/car alarm went off all night and was still going at 7 am. I'm excited to hear if it's still beeping when I get home.

Jimmy, 88 Supermarket was one for sure years ago. In the past I bought it in Seattle at Pike Place and then after trying it I bought a case on Amazon. This weekend I might head out on the hunt and can let you know what I find. There's also a Filipina market on Kingsway and Fraser I think that I saw it in, but that was a year ago too.  

Yes Phil, such a killer addition to wings. Most of the local brands are 3 crab, 5 crab, or Lucky, and to be honest they do in a pinch, but... yeah, there are better ones around that don't make it to Canada. Save for Red Boat which is decent.  

Quick tidbit about a question nobody asked: Thai fish sauce is lighter and milder than Viet fish sauce. 

Tidbit #2: having explored Vietnam one thing is abundantly clear... they treat fish sauce like the French treat wine. Locals think their regional sauce is the best, and there are definite flavour profile changes if you sample from 1 to the next. Oh, and none of the good stuff is exported, so in that sense it's even stingier than French wine.  

Newbie: hit me with a deep fried fish head and a bowl of rice, or pluck the crispy meat off and place it on a reduced fish broth with all the fixins and I'm down.

you never know where you might find little food gems. I remember I bought a bag of broken rice in a tiny market in Saskatoon, probably 20 years ago and I still remember how good it was. 

Tiny markets are where it's at. Always the first thing I hit in a new city/town/villiage, and if I won the lottery I'd hit as many as I could eating all along the way.

Parts of that are because new game hype is over-rated, I have little spare time, and I'm 5+ years out of date as it is.  

I'm still trying to make my way through RDR2, my 4th playthrough of Witcher 3 with exp packs, and haven't even started Fallout 4 yet.  

Maybe in 2 years 2077 will turn into a good game. I can wait.

I never was in to it in the first place, I don't like future apoplectic games, give me GTA.  I still remember the midnight release of gta5, playing that game for the first time was unlike anything else. 

I am just over here waiting for GTA 5 next gen version to come out next fall.

King, that's the only full-sun acceptable answer. When I got back from 4 months in 35 - 40 C weather in early August it was a 19 C evening. I was freezing and had to wear a hoodie.

Thing is though, I got used to these extremes pretty quick. Maybe locals don't.  

I still find it weird.

August: Revised training camp/practices

September finish the season.

October/November Playoffs.

December-Mid January: 6 weeks off

Mid January to April 1/2 season for 2021. 40 games, In conference games only. 

Regular Stanley Cup Playoffs. 

Bettman confirmed shortening next season was entirely off the table in his press conference or media release.  

This isn't the 80's anymore, nor isnit original 6. No need to revert back. Either play all of the playoffs, or cancel them.

I PVRd it and was planning to watch it when I got home tonight.

I can't say for sure, because I dont know.

But you'd think if they suspend play for a few weeks, it's business as usual at the draft.

However if they end the entire season and post season, I assume they'd just go with current standings for the draft lotto. Seems the most reasonable course of action IMO.

There's also the possibility that the repercussion of a 2 or 3 week suspension is - no make up games - and they just head into he playoffs in their current seeding.

Right when Hughes was gonna go top 3 all time assists as a rookie defenseman....

Maybe let us choose?

If you're looking for cheapish garlic thats still decent the jars from India are pretty good, you can find them and super-cheap spices in the Punjabi Market area of south main st around 49th and main. 

There's a couple of markets there where they have bulk barrels of spices that cost about 10% of what it does in the supermarket. Its worth a trip if you're a foodie. 

I don't know about the bleach, but Jimbo may be onto something with the fumigation. Though all veg and produce would get that so it wouldn't be unique to garlic.  

I tend not to get much of anything from China, but was in a pinch. It's hard boycotting US and Chinese at the same time, especially when I've been out of local garlic for months.

Sometimes garlic turns blue/green when mixed with acid and heated. I used to see it all the time when roasting tomato confit. You can avoid/minimize it by blanching it in milk first, but then you lose your good (or in my case - plastic flea collar) garlic flavour.  

The thing that changes colour is the random sulphur content in the garlic.

Guess I'm just used to it. I've got a 7km ride each way battling crosstown, rush hour traffic and never feel like I can't see. 

Probably comes down to a variety of factors that I just happen to be more blessed with for that specific task.

Those plus size golf umbrellas that can house a family of five are most annoying. I'm a swatter/deflector pedestrian especially under store awnings, I'm born n raised here and never use an umbrella.

Sky's the limit, Green. I do extend one courtesy to the ignorant. I'll always let them know that they need to move their umbrella about two seconds before I swat it away from my space. When they look at me with the "how dare you" face, I tell them to wake up and stop being ignorant. They usually don't have much of a retort.

Gun maze in Surrey sounds like fun.  

I've been there at Maan. Pretty good stuff actually. I didn't find it scary, but that's because I was very intentional about not being spooked. I'm sure if you were less intentionally stoic than me, you might get startled.

Yeah, I've been to a few and haven't found them to frightening, but I do appreciate the good set design and makeup of the ones I've visited. I'll probably just check out the PNE Fright Night.
