Sandler shouldn't stray far from the well intentioned moron, his forays into "acting" were a catastrophe.

      He's earned his typecast.

Actually, I find Sandler's forays into areas besides comedy to be perfectly serviceable and in some cases, good. It's just a pity that in the last 8 years or so, he hasn't produced anything I wouldn't call @#$%.

I obviously disagree, Dr. and I hope you don't mind that I'm seeking a second opinion...

Anyone else find Sandler's foray into actual acting (punch drunk love) anything other than pitiful?

You can't tell me he's evolved as an actor just because his characters have a different backgrounds. He can only be him, effectively. What character with depth has he ever portrayed successfully?

Nice, my reps have been refilled! It's like getting the huge shroom in Mario world! I'm pumped!

Anyways, chon, take the puck to the corner, turn around, pull a David Booth but shoot top corner, not straight into the pads, works every time.

  4. SOMM: Into the Bottle 9/10 @Monty I don't know if you've watched this one yet, but I found it to be as good, if not better, than A Year in Burgundy. Just to be clear, I'm not a sommelier, let alone a master sommelier, but I do know a bit about wine. Some of the people in this movie are drinking wine that I'll likely never be able to be in the same room as, let alone taste. It's both fascinating, and infuriating. Follows the journey of the grapes from the vineyard to the restaurant/consumer and showcases examples of people responsible for each step of the way. Definitely going to be re-watched with another bottle soon.
  5. I agree with the thoughts behind both @ShakyWalton and @Brad Marchand's posts, including not wanting to derail the thread into the debate it could easily evolve into were we to continue. The only thing that I find silly or disrespectful is the actual changing of the lyrics to the anthem, but that's disrespectful to Canada. I have further thoughts on the matter, but probably should have voiced the original rebuttal elsewhere in the first place.
  6. In the middle portion of the anthem, which is often sung in French, the Tenors changed one line to: "We're all brothers and sisters. All lives matter to the great."
  7. Regardless of whether or not you agree with the way they altered the anthem lyrics, it was exactly the time and place to draw attention to the situation, given the amount of exposure (albeit American free exposure since the Canadian anthem was not aired in the US). Thoughtful, but disrespectful. That phrase is humourous. Why is the phrase "All Lives Matter" > "Black Lives Matter"? People who believe one is intentionally disrespectful to the other are reaching. Every life matters, and the sheer number of people who watch baseball makes it the perfect venue to voice that exact sentiment. Watch them apologize tonight or tomorrow and in the process look like the villains though.

i don't like the way he makes his wine...call me old fashioned but i believe you should take your socks of before you crush the grapes...toe mane poisoning.

In all honesty I don't want Lucic here. The only reason is that I think he'll act like his usual ass self 1-5 times over the course of his contract by dishing out nut shots, cheap shots,a nd generally being a big on-ice bitch.

It has nothing to do with off ice anything, or how he looks, or 2011, or any of that BS. My reasons are ice related only.

If he DOES sign here, then welcome to the team Milan. In the meantime, meh.

  17. All I want to do is issue an internet point to another well thought out post or 2. This 24 business drives me nuts. Have I even issued 24?!

    1. Cramarossa

      Cramarossa

Agreed. I think it goes by a 24 hour clock, so you may have issued 24 reputation points, but it's possibly most were given this time yesterday

  18. To the people saying "Benning said he would send him back to junior if he didn't make the Canucks", you're wrong. Benning said "If he [Juolevi] had to go back to junior it wouldn't hurt him".
  19. LA moves Gaborik, signs Lucic. TBay signs Stamkos, then flips him for Lucic.

    1. MayRayDown

      MayRayDown

Nah, think Lucic and LA negotiations went sour after LA won't give him a NTC

    2. Green Building

      Green Building

Hence the double 'sign and trade' with a side of dumped Gaborik

Florida got smaller with the subtraction of Guddy, Lucic replaces part of that, then imagine a team with Kopitar, Stamkos, Doughty, and Quick!

Will it happen? No, I won't bet on it, but I like it for both teams.
