  1. Surprised they went with Khudobin again after his shaky performance last night. If he plays the same way again TB is going to win it all tonight.
  2. I agree with you. It has been similar. The main difference has been Dallas's more aggressive defense. Had the Canucks been more aggressive on defense they could have easily been up 3-1 as well. Demko isn't the answer. Giving up 40+ shots a night and expecting your goaltender to stand on his head for extended periods of pressure night after night isnt the way to win hockey games.
  3. I'd also like to add that the reffing in this series has been clearly biased. From the goalie leg sweep last game that was ruled a good goal to the late 3rd period 5 on 3 advantage tonight, the refs are trying to do everything they can to keep VGK in it but Dallas is still winning. So many blatant non calls against VGK tonight especially in the 3rd.
  4. I couldn't agree more. Dallas is having all the same problems the Canucks did against VGK entering their zone but the reason they're winning is because they're also limiting VGKs shot attempts with aggressive D. GMJB said in the post season presser that the plan moving forward is to play a system focused on defense. I HOPE that doesn't mean always collapsing down low into a 4 man box and letting the opposition pepper the net like what we got going on currently.
  5. We signed the wrong Benn brother. Jaime Benn is a beast! If only we had someone like him on the Canucks who could win puck battles against VGK.
  6. What they did in Game 2 was play a different system. They tried exiting the zone as a 5 man unit providing puck support all the way up the ice. It worked so well. TG said it was the game plan prior to the game. Why they switched back to their old garbage system in Game 3 is beyond me. This isnt a chip and chase grinder team. This is a fast break skill group. The coaching staff should learn how to utilize that.
  7. They need to support the puck carrier to create passing options. They did this in Game 2 and it worked great but then they went back to there same old crappy system which doesn't work against Vegas.
  8. With their passive strategy though the Canucks should be the less tired of the 2 groups. The biggest concern regarding fatigue is obviously Demko though.
  9. Pretty sure they were paired up at some point during the STL series as I seem to recall QH coughing up the puck and TM bailing him out with his long stick averting a breakaway.
  10. Convincing win tonight. We had VGK on their heels all game long. Just gotta do it 2 more times....
  11. Yep, I haven't been this amped during a game in years. God, I missed playoff hockey!
  12. Anyone else watching the NBC feed? The announcers were cooing over VGKs professionalism after the "friendly fire" penalty call.
  13. They abandoned their puck support mantra while exiting the zone which worked so well in Game 2 and they're back to the same old crap system with the forwards playing too high.
  14. Anyone watching COL vs DAL? Avs look terrible. Down 3-0 after the 1st and only 3 shots on goal, all of which came in the last 90 seconds of the period. I think its clear that whomever wins between Van and VGK will be playing Dallas in the next round.
  15. Yeah, he's terrible. They should trade him for draft picks. /sarcasm He's the primary reason we got past STL in R1 and although not as effective in R2 he is still a force to be reckoned with on each and every shift. He's been the MVP of the playoffs thus far.
  16. It might work out the same way as it did playing Binnington in Game 6. Let's hope so.
  17. Honestly I thought we played pretty similar to the previous game. Hard in the 1st, dominated in the 2nd and 3rd. The only difference was we didn't convert our chances in the 1st so we weren't defending a lead. With how aggressive VGK is on the puck we need to make them pay with odd man rushes back the other way. That is the key to beating Vegas.
  18. I think the passive defensive style they play is how they are told to play by the coaching staff. Stay in position and block lanes rather than be aggressive on the puck. Personally I dont like that style either but it's the system they've all bought into.
  19. Undisclosed, but assuming it's more concussion-like symptoms. I suspect Ferlands career is over.
