Lol okay, so we're supposed to take some guys word that played 17 games under him as gospel? The honeymoon wasn't even over yet. -

TOR went from last in their division to a playoff team. Of course there were trades and aquisitions by the GM that helped too but much of that turn around can be attributed to Babcock. In addition to winning a Stanley Cup he's also lost in 3 Finals and he's only missed the playoffs twice in his long career. People saying he is overrated are fools. He has a proven track record. People who say his playing style won't fit with the team are misguided. He plays a style that focuses on puck possession and utilizing your skill guys. A great system for a team like ours with elite talent like Petterson, Boeser, Miller, Horvat, and Hughes. -

It isn't like Green is new or anything. This is his 3rd season. We're not seeing any improvement in terms of systems. The only response Green has to adversity is throwing the lines in a blender. He's in over his head and he was given a fair shot. It's time to show him the door. It's like another poster said, the time is now because an elite NHL level coach is available now. Has nothing to do with a couple of losses. Honestly we should have done it when JQ was available but that ship has sailed. It's now or never. -

Look at the Canucks all time coaching stats. AV, Marc Crawford, and Pat Quinn are the only coaches we've had that achieved a winning record. They also stuck around the longest. Most unsuccessful coaches are 2 and out. I really don't understand why people want to go against the grain and keep giving Green more chances. How long until enough is enough? 2 more seasons, 3??? In the coaching world you either get results or you get fired, there is no 'waitng for someone to develop" behind the bench. https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/VAN/coaches.html -

Babcock's been the head coach in TOR for over 5 seasons now. His record is something like 170-130-45. That's a winning record. Even if you count the loser points as losses he still has a .500 record. -

LOL!!!!!! Erickson's problem is due to age. He's too slow to be effective in the NHL anymore. Babcock isn't going to fix that. -

Babcock>Green without a doubt. Not only does he have better systems but he knows what to say. When was the last time you ever heard him say "I thought we played good, we had our chances, they're a heavy team, that's hockey sometimes" after a loss? Yeah, never. Good coaches never do. Just look at the 6-5 loss to Chicago the other night. The Leafs were down 4-1 in the 1st period. They played their a$$e$ off to get back in it and nearly succeeded in tying it. What did Babcock say after the game? "Our first 10 minutes weren't good enough." Would Green have said that?- 333 replies

PREDICT THE SCORE CONTEST: Canucks @ Predators November 21th 2019

Hey, just a general question. If you guess the score but not the winner would you get any points for that? Say you guessed the last game would be 6-1 Canucks but it was 6-1 Dallas, would that be worth any points? (Just curious) -

He was waiting for his linemates to join him on the ice. The coaching staff thought that was a good time to change. -
While I agree that Markstrom wasn't lights out tonight you can't put it all on him. What do you expect to happen when our players literally just stand there watching Dallas play tick-tack-toe until the perfect shot opens up. You can't give these guys all the time in the world and expect them not to score.

Not that I'm defending LE but you can't really blame him for the contract. If someone came along and offered you a long term contract for more than you'd ever earned in your entire career when you were already in your 30's and past your prime you would take it too. It's on JB. Hopefully it's a gaff he will NEVER REPEAT AGAIN.

Yes, it should be an issue because when a serious injury occurs the play should be stopped right away. The dude took a Petey slap shot straight to the dome at point blank. The play should have been stopped. I wasn't enthusiastic about the Canucks third goal when it happened, it felt cheap. Obviously it isn't the players fault they just play between whistles. This was on the refs. Glad they came back to score the GTG a couple minutes later though. Say, I wonder if Petey's soft shot that Boeser potted the rebound on was Petey being gun shy after nearly taking someones head off moments before? Either way it worked
