  1. With that attitude I can see why you work at Tim Hortons now Donny!
  2. Boeser walking in from the hashmarks and ringing it off the post was the best chance of the 1st period.
  3. He probably questioned the effectiveness of the drop pass on the PP and Green didn't like that.
  4. The Horvat line looks more noticeable already with Virt and Baertchi on the wings.
  5. Binnington was lights out in the playoffs. He stole a lot of games for the Blues. I still believe the Jets were the better team in their series but Binnington was the difference maker. If the Calder vote happened after the playoffs there is no doubt Binnington would have won it. But it doesn't, so get over it.
  6. Same thing happened last year. Teams figure out the strengths and weaknesses of their opponents and make adjustments. The Canucks never seem to make adjustments, either in game, or of their playing style depending on who they're playing.
  7. I'm a big fan of Edler, I always come to his defense when people are bashing him on CDC, but you are right. He's looked terrible last couple of games on offense and on D. I wonder if it has anything to do with the injuries and playing 35 minutes in back to back games? He isn't getting any younger you know. I thought Stech and Benn looked mediocre as well. Tanev was consistent and Myers was okay except for that missed shot in OT that cost them the game. On a positive note even with the D not having the best performance overall we still held the Stanley Cup champs to 1 goal in regulation and Marky didn't have to stand on his head to keep us in it. It's a great sign. If this is what we can do when the D core are subpar how will we do when everyone is on top of thier game?
  8. Chicago plays an up tempo run-and-gun style with little emphasis on defense. The current Canucks are very well suited to this style of play. I predict a 7-2 blowout!
  9. Pettersson line is fire but the Blues are controlling the play against everybody else.
  10. Yeah, clearly you're like a car with only one working headlight, not very bright. <-----------thats an analogy For the record, McDavid went from $3.75m on his ELC (including performance bonuses) to $12.5m. So in terms of percentage of increase he actually got less of a raise than Boeser.
  11. Comparing McDavids salary to Boesers is NOT an analogy. I think it is you who needs some work on your English language skills. Lord have mercy.
  12. Well okay, factoring in performance bonuses Brock averaged $1.4M per season on his ELC. From 1.4 to 5.8 is still an increase of over 400%. That's not an analogy, it's called basic math bud.
  13. Boeser just went from being an ELC making $900,000 to $5.8m. That's an increase of over 500%! When was the last time you got a 500% raise at your job? He's over the moon about becoming a 23 year old millionaire. I can almost guarantee you that Boesers holding out on signing had more to do with his agents greed than with Brock himself.
  14. What?????? Markstrom played lights out last year. He kept us in a ton of games and is (mostly) the reason we stayed in the playoff hunt for so long. This season he picked up right where he left off. That game against WSH was his first indication in a long time that, yes, he is human and can have a bad game every once in awhile. If Demko continues to play like he currently is and gets more starts throughout the season I don't see a problem with that and I don't think Markstrom will mind either as long as the team keeps winning. 50/30 isn't a bad ratio. If Demko continues to get starts at the same rate as he currently has he'll get 20+ starts this year. As for the OP and Markstoms offer sheet, I would offer him $5.5m. Roughly the same as Horvat, Boeser, and Miller. Not only is it fair but it sends the message that it's a team game and no one player is more important than anyone else.
  15. He is the embodiment of the play of the 2017 team. He doesn't fit with the current team culture.
  16. It reminds me of the '94 team. We've got depth and skill all through the line up. I'm predicting a cup run within the next three years.
  17. Yep. He had 10 goals in his first 10 games last year and only 6 in 14 this season. If that's EP40's style of sophomore slump I'll take it!
  18. He's also ancient. There's a reason he is playing third line centre this season.
