  1. Hope that late goal doesn't come back to bite us. Both OJ and JV had a chance to get the puck out and they blew it.
  2. Holtby is a rental player. Demko is *presumably* the future of the franchise so of course he's going to get more starts to help his development.
  3. He reminds me of the Sedins in their first couple of seasons. Flashes of brilliance but not a lot of finish. Give him a few seasons to adjust to the speed at which the game is played at this level and he'll be unstoppable.
  4. Funny you compare him to Petterson. They are both similar in build and even hair colour/facial features. I wish OJ wasn't #48 as I mistake him for Petterson sometimes until I see the full number. Lol.
  5. I thought so too. I hope Benn or Mac challenges Tkachuk early in the next game to send the message that that will not be tolerated.
  6. Petterson, Hughes, Boeser, Horvat, Guadette, hell even Rousell and Beagle. These guys all give 100% every shift. You and every other troll trys to claim these guys aren't working hard out there when the team isn't winning. Which is total b.s.
  7. I think also that JB was a little gun shy after the Louongo debacle. I know it wasn't his fault but he's had to deal with the ramifications of that contract during his entire tenure here as GM. Lu is like 41 years old now and still has 2 years left on his contract. Smh.
  8. I think the media (guys like Jeff Patterson specifically) have helped to create a culture in Vancouver where sh**ing on the team constantly is acceptable. I do not believe that people who watch every game and take the time to regularly post here arent really fans. Think about it for a second. Would you bother to watch every Bruins or Flames game just so you could troll their forums afterwards? Yeah, probably not. People want to see the team win and when they don't, people complain. Simple as that.
  9. Jake did worse than that. Like throwing the puck away into the corner when he had passing options or giving up on a puck battle as soon as he was under pressure and just skated away. I've been an ardent JV supporter from day 1 but I think I've finally seen enough. The team isn't any better with him on the ice, its time for him to go.
  10. I've never been that impressed by Pearson. He isn't an impact player and his stats last year were inflated with a lot of empty net goals. I doubt we resign him in the off season as we have new ELCs coming up which makes him expendable. It would be fantastic for Benning to try and get a Dman in return for him as I am certain this is Edlers final season and his retirement will leave a huge hole in the teams already fragile defense core. Regarding Edler, he isn't going anywhere. He has played for the Canucks his entire career and he will retire here in a few months. Let him be. Between Jake and Guad, I would vote to move JV. AG's defensive game may be atrocious at this point in his career but he has drive and ambition. Characteristics that JV (apparently) does not possess. You can teach defense but you can't teach motivation. That comes from within. Adam has it, Jake does not.
  11. Thanks for that. Bummer, he was off to such a good start this year and made our bottom 6/ PK an offensive threat. Its going to be an even steeper hill to climb without him.
  12. No way man. Without Green, Petterson would be a 4th line plug, Boeser would be washing dishes down at the Crab Shack, and Hughes wouldn't know which end of his hockey stick to play the puck with. Green is the only guy who could get this mediocre bunch to beat Ottawa THREE times! He's the best coach ever. Without him we'd go 0-82-0 every year. Green for King of the World!
  13. The Flames are aggressive on the puck. They only way the Canucks can win is if they start supporting the puck carrier up ice and abandon this long stretch pass non sense and always trying to go 1 on 5. It doesn't work.
  14. Green is doing such a fantastic job developing these young players. He's teaching them how to deal with adversity. I hope Aquilini signs him to a 10 year deal when his current contract expires. He's exactly the kind of coach we need to bring the Cup to Vancouver.
  15. Did you notice last game they essentially abandoned the long stretch pass to forwards standing still on the blue line and instead carried it in to the zone with support? Night and day difference. When the team plays this way they get a lot more O zone time and keep their opponent on their heels. When they play their typical chip and chase they're essentially just handing the puck back to their opponent after fighting so hard to gain possession in the first place. This is a front end loaded team. We win when we spend most of the game on offense. If I were Green I'd be focusing on the break out and gaining entry WITH POSSESSION over anything else. When we do this successfully we're a hard team to beat.
  16. Green allows it to continue. Whether he doesn't have the spine to stand up to Baumer or he doesn't see any issues with the D system , it doesn't matter, its problematic and its on him to address it. He can't or won't so showing him the door is the only course of action left.
  17. Never going to happen. In typical Canucks fashion the management will continue arranging deck chairs on the Titanic until all the good replacement coaches are no longer available and then they'll bring in some friend of Benning who coaches Junior B on the weekends. Lol.
  18. Green has got to be really proud of the boys right now. They've been playing his systems perfectly all season. Well, except for that one game against Winnipeg where they went rouge again but Green quickly reeled them back in. Now they just need to start getting those darned bounces. Thats the key.
