  1. One goal for Zhukenov today - also won 6 of 11 faceoffs and had four shots on goal. 5-5-10 in ten games now.
  2. If Dorsett's out, the Canucks should claim either Smith or Varone to be the 13th forward until Dorsett or Rodin are back. Then just waive them again, and nothing's lost.

Would be 2.6 mill of truculence on the shelf.

Except, likely, what will happen is we waive them. Nobody claims them. then they're stuck in Utica eating cap and a roster spot when we could of just called up Zalewski, LaBate, Chaput, or Megna to begin with.

I don't think that's a bad thing, Utica doesn't have any high end offensive talent. A guy like Varone or Smith would be a great addition for them since they didn't get Etem.

  3. Gaudette's goal from the first period... Northeastern now leading Arizona State 3-1 early in the second.
  4. A goal and an assist for Zhukenov today, giving him 3-4-7 in seven games now. Also won 11 of 17 faceoffs.
  5. A pair of assists for Juolevi tonight gives him 1-4-5 in six games on the year now.
  6. Well, I think Sbisa just gave Tryamkin a bit more of a chance to get into the lineup after tonight. That shift with around 1:30 to go was flat out brutal to watch. So maybe I spoke too soon on his good play... With the approaching back to backs along with that eastern road trip I think it would be wise to spot Tryamkin in here and there. Whether that's for Sbisa or Larsen remains to be seen, but I think instead of waiting for an injury to happen you can also help prevent injuries by resting players across such a compacted schedule.
  7. Tryamkin will need some game action eventually. I never thought I'd say this, but how do you take Sbisa out at this point? Dude's been playing solid the first two games and earning his ice time. I think Larsen could be a more likely candidate to draw out of the lineup for him. It would make things uneven with the left/right shots but maybe on a back to back they decide to spot Tryamkin in and get him going, and you could shift Hutton up to the first PP unit instead. Obviously there will be injuries eventually but you never want to hope or plan for that.
  8. Zhukenov with another goal today gives him 2-3-5 in five games now. Also won 13 of 19 faceoffs, couldn't convert in the shootout but Chicoutimi still wins.
  9. Gaudette gets one goal and three assists tonight, 2-3-5 in four games now.
  10. Zhukenov's first goal of the season was the OT winner today vs Sherbrooke. Also added an assist and won 8/14 faceoffs, now 1-3-4 in four games this year.
  11. One goal for Brisebois today gives him 3-3-6 in five games now.
  12. Any advice on buying a new TV? I'm thinking about ordering from Best Buy, but I want to make sure whoever I order from also takes the old TV to be recycled when they deliver the new one. Is there typically an extra fee applied to this? I don't want to get ripped off by Geek Squad or something like that.

Anyone have luck with the Best Buy brand - Insignia?

Thanks for the replies, everybody. Just want to make sure I get a good one for hockey season.

  13. A goal and an assist for Brisebois today in a 10-1 blowout vs Moncton. Up to 2-3-5 in four games now.
  14. Stecher has outplayed Larsen, but you may as well give Larsen a chance when the games actually count and see what he's got. We learned last year that discarding a d-man early in the year (Corrado) can come back to bite you when injuries pile up. Playing in the AHL won't hurt Stecher at all and you still get to keep both assets in the organization.
  15. Another two assists for Boeser through two periods of play vs Canisius. Now six points in the first two games, with a period still to go.
  16. Just noticed that he's already split seven games this season between three different leagues. I hope we can get him signed and over here for next year where his development can be controlled better in the AHL.
  17. THN has Boeser as the #1 player to watch in college hockey for this season. Gaudette and Lockwood are also on the list, at 53 and 74.
  18. Brisebois gets a goal and an assist in his debut with Charlottetown, also named the game's second star.
  19. Boeser with a PPG snipe late to make it 3-1 vs Manitoba.
  20. Gaudette has the first goal in NU's exhibition game vs Acadia today. 2-0 in the second now.
  21. He looked like a more focused player tonight and didn't look out of place at centre playing in different situations. He seems quite comfortable at this level, which he should be given that its slightly better than AHL level competition. He'll really have to push himself to crack the opening lineup though as he'll not only have to knock out an incumbent player but compete against Zalewski, who also showed well tonight and has the same versatility to play wing or centre.
  22. This is exactly what I was thinking in the third period. A limited sample size, but the comparisons to Hutton's preseason last year are evident. Keeping him on as an 8th guy doesn't make much sense. But if he can keep this up and outplay Larsen he could definitely land himself a more regular spot. It looks like the level of competition for our last few spots will be pretty high this year, its gonna be exciting to watch.
  23. Carcone was very prominent again tonight. He doesn't shy away from the physical play even being a little undersized, and his offensive instincts and speed were apparent. I think he could be a dark horse difference maker for the Comets this year.
  24. I thought Carcone played a very good game today. He's a great skater and crafty with the puck, he did well to create a few chances around the net. I don't know how that'll translate into playing against pros with Utica, or if he'll even be in the AHL, but his offensive skills are easy to see.
  25. I'm surprised nobody's posted this yet, but Zhukenov won't be playing in the Youngstars games because of injury.
