  1. Don't expect anybody to listen to this but I feel the need to post it somewhere. A good friend of mine has been working on an EP for a while with his band and they've got their first show set up so I'm pretty stoked for him. Kinda Deftones-influenced if you're into that, if not that's cool.
  2. So I found out that turning off the AR function greatly reduces the number of crashes on my phone. It still crashes occasionally and the game drains the life out of my battery at lightning speed but the game's playable for me now, I was able to catch a good number of Pokemon today. Also saw a couple of families playing together at a Pokestop today which was kinda sweet to see. Plus its way better for the kids when the parents get involved and are able to monitor them when they play. Still waiting to have an actual conversation with someone at a lure though, most people seem too absorbed in the game, some just stay in their cars to catch Pokemon. I always thought it'd be a cool way to meet people with common interests but maybe not.
  3. Gotta love free prospects. Excited to see a player with offensive upside added to the pool in Utica, no telling how Carcone will translate to the AHL (or even the ECHL, depending on where he starts) but I like the idea of bolstering our prospect pool through other avenues besides the draft. It'd be nice if they took a look at D'Aoust as well and bring him to Youngstars at least.
  4. I managed to download it, but I'm having a horrible time getting it to work. Most of the time it just stays at the loading screen and never connects, I've only managed to actually log in twice. The first time it froze while I was catching my starter and the second time it booted up to a blank map with no Pokemon or items. Really hope the server overload gets resolved soon.
  5. Wish I could play this but unfortunately I have no space on my phone. Might be time for an upgrade...
  6. He's eligible for the AHL, because he's not coming out of the CHL. If he's going to get consistent minutes with his Czech club and not get bounced around between four different levels again, I think that'd be the better option for him. But I don't know how likely that is. It might just be better for the Canucks to bring him over now since playing again in a junior league where he averaged 2 points per game isn't going to do anything for his growth.
  7. That Calder Cup final game just now was absolutely nuts. Never seen a game go scoreless for that long and still be that exciting.

    1. Brad Marchand

A team from Cleveland won a championship and it wasn't the Cavs lol.

      Hell of a game.

  8. I think a factor more important than the amount of playing time he gets next year is the quality of the defense that Utica will have. The last thing Benning should want is Demko playing behind a defense built from green prospects and PTOs like this season's - he is going to be the best prospect on the Comets next year and it'd be smart to give him the proper support he needs. Stecher and Nilsson are a good start but a couple of top end vets (of the Sanguinetti, Biega, Fedun mold) to stay in the AHL all year and anchor the defense there should be on his shopping list for free agency.
  9. Nice! Good for Brisebois to finally get out of the QMJHL basement. Not that Charlottetown is a top contender, but he also makes them better so maybe he can go a little further into the playoffs this season.
  10. Its easier in some respects but its a lot harder to put up points in. Its a 52 game season and the league's leading scorer had 51 points last year, which makes Rodin's totals that much more impressive. Its tough to quantify how his play will translate to the NHL but you can't teach those offensive skills.
  11. I can see the Lapierre comparisons actually... gritty guys who didn't put up much offense in junior. Lapierre was drafted #61, Laplante #62. Both underwhelmed in their last years of junior (especially considering the Q is so high scoring) but the team that drafted Lapierre just ended up keeping him. Free prospects are rarely a bad thing (or a good thing, but we need optimism around here). Plus he has a cool name. "YPL" just has a nice ring to it.
  12. Figured this should probably be started. 21 year old LW, 6'0, 183 lbs; a former Coyotes draft pick who wasn't signed or re-drafted. Hopefully he'll get a fair shot in Utica next season, we don't have a lot in the way of forward prospects ready to join the AHL so the door is open for him to work his way into the lineup there. 13. Definitely going to try catching a few Giants games next year now that they're a lot closer to me. Especially if the Canucks draft Benson or Ronning. If one of those happened it would probably give a little boost to ticket sales in the new building, actually...
  14. Two goals from Zhukenov tonight but Chicoutimi falls in Game 6 to Cape Breton, 7-4. Finishes with 3-3-6 in the 6 playoff games, the Game 5 shutout the only time Zhukenov was held off the scoresheet. All of our major junior prospects are now done except for Kyle Pettit (Erie).
  15. Brisebois' season is done after a 4-3 OT loss in Game 5 today. Finishes with two assists in the five game series.
  16. First pro goal for McEneny is the OT winner tonight, and he added an assist as well. 1-22-23 in 31 games this season and a +16, including 14 points in his last 14 games. Hope he and Cederholm have earned proper shots at the Comets next season.
  17. Series all tied up 2-2 with a 5-4 Chicoutimi win tonight. One assist for Zhukenov in the win, giving him 1-3-4 in the four games so far.
  18. The Titan extend the series with an improbable 6-3 win tonight. Brisebois with an assist in the win and was +2.
  19. Cape Breton takes Game 3 in overtime, 4-3 after Chicoutimi battled back to tie it from 3-0 in the third. Zhukenov with one assist in the loss. Dubois had the winner for Cape Breton.
  20. Acadie-Bathurst is on the brink of elimination now after a 7-1 loss in Game 3. Still just the lone assist for Brisebois in the series, looks like another short season for the Titan.
  21. Series tied 1-1 now after Cape Breton takes Game 2 5-2. Zhukenov had one goal in the loss.
  22. Chicoutimi wins Game 1 3-1 over Cape Breton! Zhukenov had an assist in the win.
  23. Saint John takes the first game 4-1 tonight. Brisebois with an assist on the lone goal for the Titan.
  24. Brisebois didn't play today - ends with 10-16-26 in 52 games. Acadie-Bathurst plays Saint John in the first round, hopefully he's available to play by then. Although this is another series that probably isn't going to last too long regardless of whether he's in or not.
  25. 2 assists for Zhukenov today in the final game of the season - finishes with 15-42-57 in 64 games and 51.4% on faceoffs. Chicoutimi will face Cape Breton in the first round starting on Friday.
