  1. Lol, Lord Loui's name gets autocorrected; but how do I show my appreciation for Sony Player Name cellphones or Joel Player Name Ek?

  2. Not sure why we'd blame kids for how their agent is (rightfully) negotiating for their fair market value. Fact of the matter is, it's part of the negotiation process, the players and agent will seek to leverage market comparables (Kaprizov/ Makar/ Heiskanen in this case) while the team needs to factor in its cap space and future roster feasibility. It's business being done and you don't hate the other side for being "difficult" when each side seeks what it wants (unless you're Loui Player Name asking for Connor McDavid money). EDIT: lol just realized Player Name gets autocorrected to "He Who Must Not Be Named"
  3. I'd love it if Hughes could go to Arizona for Chychrun (if Petey and Hughes won't both fit under the cap when signed, then sign and trade Hughes). For Petey, I made the suggestion of Cozens (emerging but not yet full-fledged "#1" C) and Owen Power (top prospect, 6'6" LHD, could blossom into a mobile, all situations type).
  4. If we're trading Petey, no way we only get Cozens (Buffalo's "#1" C but only because Eichel is out) and Jokiharju (young, mobile RHD but he doesn't fit a need here). If I'm Vancouver honestly I push for Owen Power to be that #1 workhorse D prospect since Petey is a star who's proven he's 1st line caliber.
  5. Lauzon isn't RHD, though agreed he could be useful as he can play on the right.
  6. Agreed with the others, I'd rather not trade Jack at this point, he's looking promising. EDIT: to his credit, Ferraro does look like a leftie Jared Spurgeon (smaller but capable, mobile and puck-moving defenseman) and he is their top LD, so there's reason to think maybe THEY don't do it either (we love Jack's upside, they need Ferraro defensively). Major point aside, Nieto also doesn't meet a need (we have many wingers -- Di Giuseppe, Gadjovich, Motte, Highmore, MacEwen, Lockwood, and we're well stocked for forwards in general) so I'd rather see if we could get someone like their RD Meloche (project RD but big and physical at 6'3", 210 lb. and decent offensively in the AHL too).
  7. OP I really like the way that defense looks after that trade, plus getting a 1st is gravy. OEL - Poolman apparently looked great already, so adding another pair in Graves - Severson that can take the tough minutes would make for a very stable D-core. Rathbone probably has enough dark horse potential to become a great PMD in his own right, so he can probably make up 60% of what the team loses in Quinn. Paired with a rebound season from OEL and effective transition play throughout the defenders to the forward group, and we'd have an effective two-way unit that could defend and do damage offensively.
  8. There's a rumor out there that Benning will try to trade him since he wants to play in the States. Also, where do we recoup a 2nd in 2022 in this trade? We receive a 7th. I'm glad you trust Lyubushkin but this is where we agree to disagree. I also don't know if the correlation of OEL and Lyubushkin as a tough minutes pair equates to the fact that they were a good tough minutes pair (just like when the Canucks played Del Zotto and Gudbranson cuz they had no one else, doesn't mean they're good) -- they were cratered on defense and their WAR stats were terrible (if they were good together would they not be in the positive?).
  9. I'd rather trade the pick we get for Hamonic to get Lyubushkin instead of trading another 2nd or 3rd of our own, plus it's not a "for certain" that he'd get 16 points. He scored two points all last season, and if Arizona's keen on a fire sale of vets, they don't have much leverage either (just like I doubt we have much for Hamonic).
  10. The Eagle's not soaring at nearly so high speed anymore, his lack of footspeed was showing last season so I'd rather not have him back.
  11. Yeah, speculation he may either retire or sit out the season (either of which frees up $3 million in cap).
  12. I wouldn't do it, Schenn's got winning pedigree, and you might be overhyping Lyubushkin. 10 points in 134 games isn't exactly offensive potential, and he's never played more than 15 minutes a season which is 3rd pairing. For that I'd rather see what Schenn can do instead of trading for what might be another Tucker Poolman (except Poolman at least had a 16 point season).
  13. In today's terms it'd probably be the equivalent of asking for one of the elites, e.g. McDavid/ Crosby/ Hedman. Dominant player at least belonging in the same echelon.
  14. Just heard a good name pun for Arturs, "he slides over to Silov the net". That ought to give Vasily a run for his money as he seeks to "pot goals in".
  15. Wonder if Silovs could challenge DiPietro for the backup spot next season if Halak retires after? He looks solid against a full-fledged NHL team.
  16. Petey's already not signed at the moment, trade Bo and we're left with Miller/ Dickinson/ maybe Chytil in the top 6. No thanks. We're also not rebuilding.
  17. Lol your cousin must've been a Brent Gretzky fan... Yeah it's unfortunate that Jake became what he did but he's a man, let him live and maybe hopefully we'll see him return to the NHL one day.
  18. Based on what I remember from the bubble series, the Sens get a massive and physical winger (10 goals and 16 points in 52 games this past season isn't bad for a 3rd line guy either) so I wonder why the Blues dumping him after trading Blais and a pick for Buch (unless they're moving on the slow grinding style to a more skilled game?).
  19. MAYBE at the deadline if we're contending and need RD depth (let the team accrue cap and then trade any low-performing players), though I don't see how he would be an impact player if we needed a significant addition.
  20. Such a buy-low proposition in trading Petey for Dahlin. Besides his draft projections, there's no guarantee that Dahlin's return would come to fruition as more than pennies on the dollar, so hard no for him. We're also stacked on the wings so (unless we move Miller to middle full-time or trade Petey for Chychrun, since again I'm firmly against trading him for Dahlin) we'd have to play a top-6 RW in the bottom-6 with this trade. Hog - Miller - Marner Podz - Bo - Garland Pearson - JD - Boeser Motte - Sutter - _______ Chychrun - Myers OEL - Hamonic Rathbone - Poolman Overall this does look like a solid lineup and very deep, but as someone also noted, we're above the cap (even more so if we go back to acquiring RD).
  21. I wonder if Brady would be any more affordable than Petey, since the Sens already offered him an $8 million * 8 year contract. Having the connection with Quinn may help but still doubt he's that much cheaper of a contract esp. seeing what Kap signed in Minny. Asset wise I'd probably do it (presuming Brady signs after), thanks to Miller and Dickinson's positional versatility we don't really miss a beat.
  22. Is that right? All I've ever heard him say is "OH YEAHHH"
  23. Lol kinda looks like Kool Aid man got vaccinated
