  1. When Toffoli re-signs with us and we get the figured out for the rest of the roster, I'd be down for Boeser+ for Ekblad. Just wouldn't want to have a bare bones RW behind Toffoli (e.g. Jake/ Loui dealt, Ferland poss. retirement; MacEwen or Leivo are fine for 3rd line but not higher). Edler - Myers, Hughes - Ekblad does look good though for a top-4, just gotta see what top-6 looks like behind Miller - Pete - Toffoli.
  2. Yeah, he must've misread "2030-12-31" as "2020". Soon enough sir, soon enough, but it's our call, not yours.
  3. Mr. President of the United States of Pandemic, please.

:picard: Let's just keep out border closed until there's someone competent running that country. Or, just anyone but this 400lbs sack of s***...

@Drive-By Body Pierce That’s why I can’t feel any sympathy for those clowns who for god-knows-what reason still support and defend him.

  4. Yeahhhh... probably silly thinking he doesn't. 6'4", 215 lb RHD who's only 24, scored 41 points in 67 games, and who played 23 minutes a night as a former #1 pick? At worst he's been reaching 40 points a season territory. He's also signed for $7.5 million (probably fairly reasonable for a young #1 D man). Seeing how both Dadonov, Hoffman, Haula and Pysyk are UFA's and Wallmark (decent center)/ Weegar (18 points in 45 games D-man) are RFA's, wonder if they would still want some cap going back to fill out the team? I'd gladly trade Boeser and probably a depth prospect D like Brisebois (not Rathbone/ Juolevi) for Ekblad.
  5. Markstrom also won't sign with a shell of a team. Risto's not the kind of RHD we should target either, esp. not for Boeser. He's too shaky in his own zone.
  6. Haha that easy huh? JB: "as you can see, Vancouver is experiencing climate change with smog, and Covid numbers are steadily climbing with potential to skyrocket." LE: fk it, back to Sweden, keep the money
  7. Such a click-bait title. First of all, to demean a guy who chose to give almost all his wealth away by saying that he's gone broke is to say that he didn't have the financial foresight to prepare ahead for himself and his spouse. That's clearly not the case as $2 million dollars between him and his wife at age 90 isn't "broke", when they already have an apartment in SF. Also, if guys like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates look up to you, I highly doubt they'd let him get to being broke-broke (if he got to that place), and it seems like the writer couldn't let him have a good moment for his philanthropy, but instead they say he's going broke when he probably has a fuller heart than most of us have "full" wallets.
  8. Doubt Minny wanted him back anyways. That should also speak to how he is as a C, when a barren team doesn't want to retain him.
  9. Probably steal in the short term of Buffalo, win esp. if Jack feels they have more of a winning environment with Eric. Long term Wild could do well if Johansson re-signs.
  10. Wonder if Montreal will be all over him? They have a team full of smurfs up front.
  11. Dumba to Montreal for either Domi (re-signed) or Danault (extended)? Wild need #1 C, Danault's been showing some good upside as a top line shutdown center and would have passed 50 points in a full season. Same with Domi who's got grit and has been playing center. Despite both being passed by Suzuki and Kotkaniemi during the post-season, they're still good players and young (mid 20's). In Kypreos and McLean's interview on how to fix the team, McLean says they need an offensive D-man for the PP. Last season, Dumba scored at double the rate as he did this year, so he could be due for a rebound in scoring. Purely thinking on a boring work day, and wonder if this would fly for both teams?
  12. We're becoming the Vancouver Kings? (Just hope they stay away from Quick at all costs)
  13. I think it depends on the direction that the team goes in goal (1A-1B or Demko as starter with "mentor" backup?). If the former I'd want either Greiss (Varlamov and Sorokin ahead of him, solid for couple years now) or Khudobin (if Stars still stick with Bishop; he's shown that he's capable of being a starter). Sure they probably wouldn't pick Crawford when we expose him (if we do Demko-mentor) but it depends on who Vancouver exposes IMO, and how good Corey is by next year (losing record this year, plus GAA above 3 in playoffs).
  14. I'd do either proposal. Tierney could be signed and flipped for a pick since he did put up almost 40 points and is only 26 (or if he's a Kadri-type performer and that's what's needed we could ship Adam out for defensive help, if we don't see him as a fit at center). We save money by shipping out both Loui and Baertschi and may need that cap to re-sign key guys. Adding a 2nd would be gravy (re: the original proposal).
  15. Definitely down for Jake + Loui for Lundqvist (1 year @ $8.5) + defense prospect (instead of Kravtsov) if Marky walks. Rangers are probably down for problem players, since they have DeAngelo who had several incidents of using racial slurs on teammates and officials.
  16. Lol post the original quote? I'm that guy who asks for it. Props if you did predict haha
  17. My main point is that people can change. It's fine if the internal fortitude to do so isn't present in you, and you want him to be banished to the K for life. Again, I'd consider him solely in the event that he's truly changed, but if he is, then I'd say give him at least a chance in the form of a PTO. We'll agree to disagree.
  18. I liked K'Andre after watching footage as he's a former 1st round pick with size and speed (left handed D man). Think he and Hughes would pair really well. That being said, don't forget that the Rangers are drafting Lafreniere and doubt they'd need to add someone like Boeser when they already have Buchnevich and Kakko (2nd overall in the Jack Hughes draft). They already run the following top-6: Panarin - Zibanejad - Buchnevich Kreider - Strome - Kakko (Lafreniere could potentially play on LW and bump Kreider to the right as he's played both sides) Maybe they'll use one or some assets to package with Lundqvist's expiring contract to free up $8.5 million in cap? Shesterkin and Georgiev are ready to run the show in the crease for the Rangers, and a big chunk of their money will go to Strome, DeAngelo and Georgiev (all RFA).
  19. PTO at the start only, and that's after conducting background checks and interviews to see where he is at mentally and character-wise. That said, while I'm probably of the minority, I do believe that people can change and if they do then I'd sign him. Put it this way, when Kobe (RIP) had his rape allegations, if you were the Lakers would you have wanted to not bring him back? Evander Kane had anger issues and didn't gel well with Byfuglien (if memory serves correctly); Hoffman and Karlsson had beef, while some young Sens showed lack of maturity with the taxi cab incident; Kassian had drinking problems, Seguin and others were notorious partiers, heck even Markstrom had anger issues earlier on. Honestly no one's a saint and I wouldn't want to throw him under the bus so quickly if indeed he's a changed man.
  20. Haha Bergevin can be the high-priced middle-man Canes => Habs for 5th, Habs to Leafs for 1st
  21. I think each side would have a reason for the other to add (Vegas knows they have a useful asset so would want to treat Loui like a cap dump and get an asset like Lind; Vancouver would say that Fleury costs more and he wants out anyways so shouldn't be Vancouver adding). At the end of it maybe he goes to Calgary instead for a mid-round pick? Him and Big Save Dave could be a decent combination.
  22. I'm more concerned if Boeser doesn't find ways to uncork his shot anymore. Someone like Toffoli has shown the smarts to get into the open spaces such that he's not so dependent on set plays to let one fly, whereas Brock's goal total has dropped this past year. Great snipers like Laine have different ways (off the rush, one-timers, pivoting to create angles for himself) to get shots off.
  23. Look out league, we've basically created our own Brayden Point (Toffoli's smarts and two-way IQ with Jake's wheels)
  24. Buy-low on a guy who used to be top-6 caliber but has had difficulty staying healthy. Interesting if he does stay healthy all year and can rebound even a bit.
