  1. In terms of playing style, he is one of the UGLIEST and one of the STRONGEST players on the circuit. I can not think of a deadlier flat forehand than his. His forehand is practically a first serve.
  2. I still don't understand why Vancouver has half shut down just because of a half foot of snow (not the snowfall amount, just the level of snow that's on the ground). Is it because the city's infrastructure can't handle mild snowfall or is it just because the people can't handle it (as in, Vancity folk are bad winter drivers)? When I think about what I went through ANYWHERE in Canada other than Vancouver, there was almost ALWAYS a foot of snow on the ground for at least four months. Sidewalks were nonexistent. Now, can someone explain to me why those places can still function in those conditions while Vancouver cannot? Especially when I'm pretty sure it'll all melt in under a week...
  3. 20km/h and 15cm? All-season tires would probably be good enough.
  4. Moderate amounts of snow is never fun or exciting.
  5. More importantly, he's playing clutch tennis. Most players do not have the composure to go up and play net on match point down.
  6. It is argued that Verdasco could have become the best player in the world, better then Feds and Rafa. Apparently, he had more natural talent and potential than both of them. The thing is that he partied a lot and didn't put a lot of effort into tennis, unlike other guys who worked their butt off. I guess he was satisfied with not being the very best, but... I guess not.
  7. The most boring matches occur when playing styles match up. Even worse is when you have two big servers or two counterpunchers play. Nobody likes Karlovic v. Isner, because it really is quite boring. That being said, Verdasco is a d-bag for what he said about Raonic the other day... http://sports.yahoo.com/tennis/blog/busted_racquet/post/Verdasco-whines-that-Raonic-s-two-wins-didn-t-co;_ylt=AiTa1r6mDoiSBx0zXSSA81k4v7YF?urn=ten-323464#mwpphu-container
  8. I thought Raonic was a pretty calm and composed guy, and it certainly seemed that way from his interviews. I mean, he can be an emotional guy like Nadal or something, but he's cocky. And young, so whatever.
  9. Unfortunately, nobody's going to play out here in the west. I've checked the prices and compared them with back east... more than double the price for lessons and leagues and stuff. It was 20 bucks for a one-on-one lesson back home, but it's $45 for semi-private lessons here (four people). Joke.
  10. I remember this. The d-bag needs to be banned from future tennis tournaments.
  11. Nick Kypreos says ANYBODY can be a source. ANYBODY, including my neighbour. Take that, bieksa3-!!!!!
  12. Pacific division looks ridiculous...

  13. Some sort of bet with the... organizers? If I recall correctly...
  14. I saw the final, and he really does have an excellent running forehand. But it's all about his serve. I hope his body can handle it.
  15. It's a 250 circuit tourney, so one win won't do much. But you can't ignore the fact that he did take out the #2 seed, so we can expect him to go a bit deeper.
  16. You can hit -40 with dry cold. If you're hitting -40 in a blizzard, I suggest you leave Siberia.
  17. If there is clear skies in winter, you can be sure that it'll be cold. Dry cold is worse than wet cold anytime.
  18. He has really sucked tonight. Djokovic doesn't have to do ANYTHING to win. She's saying that, but let's be realistic. She is the top player in the circuit right now, and she can always have more children later. As we are right now, there's nobody who can challenge her. Serena is hurt. Wozniacki is our new Safina. Henin has retired. All the players who were good are starting to disappear, like Sharapova. 3/5 majors since her comeback. If she comes back, it'll be hers to win. I guarantee that you'll see her yet again here.
  19. Murray - Djokovic won't be a BAD matchup, but it's the one we probably all DIDN'T want.
  20. I believe we are heading straight into the Boring Era of tennis. 2004-2008 was the best. Now Nadal is getting injured. Federer seems more washed up than ever. Even on the womens' side, Henin is gone. The Williams are most likely gone. You've got Wozniacki and Zvonareva in first and second? Painful to watch.
  21. It was like watching a Shakespearean tragedy. This is Ferrer's chance to fight for a championship. Murray has been on fire, but it's Andy Murray. And that also means this is Fed's to lose. Nole v. Roger is the one to watch.
  22. If Federer is playing the way he should be playing, there is no comparison.
  23. It'll definitely be fun watching him play for the next few months. Hopefully he's not a one-hit wonder.
  24. It's best to keep expectations low for Murray, for everyone's sake... Ah he's taking way too much time between his serves. I really don't like players who do that...
