  1. Like any amendment, it would be nice to know specifically what you changed in an update post. Please and thank you
  2. Really depends on which teams intend to rebuild. I think Tom Wilson a prefectly fine deal because they're locking up their future captain during some pretty rough post-Ovie years. The only challenge for Washington will be staying above the cap floor. It's all based on the team situation. If they're trying to compete, then a lot of these contracts don't look great. If they're planning on rebuilding soon, who cares?
  3. Just pick 2 players and Gator can pick for you?
  4. get on discord you peasants @arby18_
  5. This is obviously cherry-picking but look at some of the great signings/extension of that core: Sedin - $6.1M Sedin - $6.1M Kesler - $5M Burrows - $2M Samuelsson - $2.5M Edler - $3.25M Hamhuis - $4.5M He got Ehrhoff for cheap. He pulled the Horvat trade. He managed to swap Luongo for Markström. Definitely had a bunch of bad moves too but you're making a fool of yourself (again) by putting Gillis that far down the list.
  6. Nobody in Washington (not the team, the GM, the fans) will care what happens to Washington after Ovechkin is gone. Chicago had nothing but overpaid stars this year and look who they got. There are only three long-term contracts left. Kuemper for 4 years, Strome for 5, and now Wilson for 8. That's it. That old-school brand of hockey is going to get you in a lot of penalty trouble, suspension trouble, and injury trouble. Doesn't make a difference when your team is rebuilding, though.
  7. I saw that on Bisping's YT channel last week. Why Nick Diaz of all people? It's not full MMA but he hates fighting.
  8. The team salary cap is meaningless during a rebuild. Look at Chicago this year. Wilson will be the next captain and his contract will keep the team above the cap floor. If he's "done in a few years", he can sail off into LTIRetirement like everyone else.
  9. Hey, even in a post-Ovie rebuild (it will be a painful one), someone's gotta captain the ship, right? He's the obvious candidate to wear the 'C' in a couple years.
  10. What, you mean like buying out the one guy RON HEXTALL brought in during the trade deadline? Read the atmosphere in Pittsburgh. They are just happy they got rid of the worst GM in their franchise history, and he was only in charge for one year. As for Toronto, they'll probably be just fine as long as Treliving does his job. As long as they keep pushing for playoff spots, that franchise can always sign UFAs from Ontario.
  11. With the 76th pick of the 2023 CDCGFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Penguins select... from SC Bern of the Swiss National League... The 2019-2020 Norris Trophy winner: Ro-Yo Best Wishes @Patrick Kane
  12. https://www.thebeaverton.com/2023/08/blue-jays-fan-times-bathroom-breaks-for-when-team-has-runners-in-scoring-position-to-ensure-he-doesnt-miss-any-action/
  13. The first old man comes off the board. "On behalf of Mario Lemieux and the entire ownership group, Pittsburgh Penguins select... from Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior League...." The Kid. Didn't even have to edit the photo or anything. Beat that, @Herberts Vasiljevs. You're on the clock!
  14. Two questions. Who is Robert Taylor and when did Leo become right-footed
  15. The fanbase doesn't have to listen to stupid journalists but the players do. Every day after practice, after games... His jaw is shaped like a beard
  16. I think it's more about the brain dead media in all the Canadian cities. All of them. Even here, I'm pretty sure Boeser and Miller weren't thriving with all the speculation pieces put out every day. Tarasenko spoke out against Bruce Garrioch today, and it's his first day talking with the media. Jim Matheson in Edmonton. Toronto has them all: Steve Simmons, Damien Cox, Dave Feschuk... do we have anyone specific here in Vancouver?
  17. Probably a steal - most players overperform in contract years but he did not
  18. They're probably fine with Vancouver, especially out near West End. We don't have a harsh climate like Edmonton or Winnipeg. We're just a slightly more boring version of Seattle. Obviously some big U.S. cities are way better but not all of them. In any case, Swedish players have had no problems starting families here. And where are all our draftees coming from??
  19. Blake Coleman is an elite two-way winger. His defending is top notch. His penalty killing is top notch. His finishing took a nosedive this year but you are massively underrating him. Just look at this shot suppression map. Blue everywhere. So Hanifin hasn't played with Tanev the last couple years years. You couldn't tell me who his actual partner was even if you tried. He's going to get paid at least $7M in free agency and he'll be worth every penny. Who was Hanifin's partner, Alf?
  20. Great player, but no more Coyle/Hall for support. He'll do fine in a bigger role, though.
