  1. 25 games, 5 rotations. First rotation: 8.87 ERA Fifth rotation: 0.55 ERA Madness.
  2. If Karlsson is the poster boy for comeback king D-men this year, Ristolainen is a solid runner-up candidate. Something changed in him under Torts. He turned into a very solid two-way player who plays good defence. I never thought I'd say that about someone like him, especially after such an abysmal start in Philly. Which brings me to my point - I'm not sure if Philly wants to trade him away. I think Ristolainen is still a bit overpaid but he's providing good value to that Flyers blueline. He's one of the good stories to come out of what has been a tough rebuilding season.
  3. Never in my life have I seen the Jays rotation play as well as they have during this stretch. They have given up 5 runs in the last eight games. That's insane.
  4. Ah, Hirano. He played for Abby this year but I think he got sent down to the ECHL. If a scrub can do that in a game, imagine how weak the opposition must be. The only good Serb hockey players I can think of are Canadian. Lucic? I also saw that Yutaka Fukufuji is STILL playing for the national team. That guy must be ancient by now.
  5. I think enough people here (including myself) have brought forth conclusive arguments as to why your extreme perspective on defenceman is simply wrong. And the more any of us got into it, the simpler your responses got. Just like how you're pivoting now. You don't need to watch Singh and DeBrusk. You don't even need to watch this series.
  6. I'm a bit cautious with using reddit, but this guy dug deep. It's a long enough list that goes back. As for practice facilities, what's there to say when there's only two teams that don't have one?
  7. The one who's taking things too personally is the one that's been whining non-stop in this thread. If you want another feed just go and watch it. Nobody is forcing you to watch this, man.
  8. There's this thing called the internet if you want a different broadcast. I used it to watch an ESPN feed because CBC hates my computer. I just pick whatever stream lags the least. Sometimes it's ESPN, sometimes it's the Sportsnet feed. I don't let it get to me because I'm just trying to watch hockey. You care because you're an unintelligent hater who has no good reason to watch this series other than to just complain complain complain
  9. You're actually trying to complain about two Oilers homers doing the play-by-play for an Oilers game.
  10. We live in a time where if you don't like one broadcast you can simply watch a different one or just press the mute. The majority of Sportsnet viewers tonight are Oilers fans. Who cares.
  11. I think it's too soon to give up. Another 5 minutes or so and - Would you look at that.
  12. You're wasting your time with him. Might be the most deluded hater on this forum. If he doesn't like the team, they're a group of Satanic devils.
  13. Smart for LA to try and slow things down. I can't think of a worse strategy than to engage in a shootout with the EDMONTON OILERS.
  14. I think your points have some merit, but I think the primary reason is that Aquilini doesn't care enough and/or is too cheap to do anything about it. Our owner doesn't rely on taxpayers for anything... because he hasn't done anything to improve the team infrastructure. A team-owned multipurpose complex (let's just say 4 rinks) would be a huge boon for the community, who could always use more ice rinks. San Jose (a very well-run franchise) owns 10 of them across the city and has really helped grow the sport as well as team interest among kids there. Having a community-oriented facility would also be a much easier pill for taxpayers to swallow. That's the one counterargument - Aquilini has the money but is obviously way too cheap to build anything without public assistance. Beyond that, I think the off-ice amenities are just as useful for the Canucks' on-ice success. Video rooms, equipment rooms, meeting rooms, gym stuff, recovery stuff, kitchen... why do other teams get to have that while we don't? Because it's not necessary? That's not convincing enough for me.
  15. We as Canucks fans have zero right to dump on other franchises for having poor facilities. If the Aquilinis opened the team back during the Coliseum days, he would've just stayed there to save money. I won't lie - him being the owner sometimes makes it hard for me to fully support my own team.
  16. Meanwhile in Vancouver, we still have maroon seats and no practice facilty. The only other team without their own practice rink? Calgary. https://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/nhl/vancouver-canucks/practice-facility-seems-long-way-off
