Yeah thats the deal im kinda hoping for. I don't know if its enough to be honest. Much more and I agree, wait to FA next year. Such a fun exciting though right now -

Here's the thing with FA. We save some assets yes (we dont know the asking price). However if we wait till free agency we're bidding against 20 other teams and will likely overpay. Look at what myers and gardiner get this year. We may have to pay more than that. If we trade for him now we can extend him before bidding war starts and save maybe 2-3 mill along with term. -
The thing i enjoy thw most about our prospects and future core is the mix. We have blue chip players at every position with every skillset.

I wish it weren't the case but Russians would rather play in the Khl than the Ahl. Hard to blame them.
-
Yeah he could play in the AHL without restriction (same contract rules as nhl). However that may spook him a but like tryamkin.
-
Nah. Not that I've looked into him extensively (I thought he'd be gone), but he plays a north/south style game because thats his strength. His IQ is high in the sense of puck retrieval and forechecking. He relies on safe passes to move the puck (similar to boeser). My style comparison (away from puck) would be that of Hansen. With the puck I see him like an evander kane with a little less shot.

I wouldn't think this season. He won't be under contract with the canucks until his khl contract is terminated or expired. That being said, if the khl season ends early in year 2, the canucks could quickly sign him andget him over similar to what we do with college players.
