  1. Back to wearing my Edler jersey! Heck, I’ll sleep in it if it helps to keep him healthy & the points coming. If this season is his last hurrah as a ‘Nuck, I hope Eddie will finish it strong!

  2. I think all the luck has gone out of my Edler jersey. How long before Elias Petterson shows up? Onto Montreal...Odin please help Tanev ..Go Canucks Go!

  3. I think Burr & Hansen will be as essential & inspirational to their new teams in these play-offs, as Dale Weise was to the the "Habs" in their infamous run & series vs the Bruins, after Tortorella demanded he be traded away from us. Character guys make an impact whenever they're needed. We can still admire our quality Canucks-veterans, from afar & continue to salute them as "Forever Canucks".

      Nuxfanabroad

Yes indeed. Let's hope Edler can do the same for some eastern outfit, next season!

  4. Honey Badger! Another Forever Canuck! Gone at least one year, too soon! Happy trails to you, Jannick Hansen! Canucks Nation will always be there to salute, thank, & cheer for you in whatever venue you may find yourself playing in. Godspeed to the Cup in 2017, make it so!

Thanks Hansen, and you're more than welcome back when you become a UFA. :)

  5. Mourning the departure of Burrows, today. Godspeed on your way to the Stanley Cup that inexplicably eluded you here. Best wishes, much love & gratitude to you Burr, from Canucks' Nation here & where ever you may find us in VanCity, Ottawa or around the world!

Sharks have to win to be best for us. Not liking that since I hate the beards

Yah - and just heard that conditional pick for Hansen will be a 1st rounder not a 4th - if the Sharks win the Cup...that makes it very nice indeed. Canucks Nation has to cheer for the Sharks in 2017 now.

    3. viking mama

      viking mama

But the 1st round pick in 2017 would be late in a rather weak draft year,...so is it really a home run? No - not really. I will still miss the Honey Badger like crazy & I think the Canucks will really miss his particular brand of mentorship, too.

  6. Loui Eriksson's goal song should be "Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen, a natural choice seeing as he's playing on the triple-crown-line. Can I get an "amen" or another alternative please?

He looks so much like Christian Bale..

So maybe first goal: Louie Louie; second goal: Batman theme

      Compromise.

Waiting to see what DJ does tonight. That's if - I dont lose the back deck & part of my roof along with power tonight. Feeling a guilty about not doing those renos in the off-season, now.

  7. Anyone started a Rio Olympics thread yet? First event out of the gate is women's soccer Canada vs Australia, live now! So, where's the chatter about this one?

    1. Brad Marchand

      Brad Marchand

Completely forgot the group stage started before the opening ceremony.

It was pretty ugly, but they got the job done.

  8. Hey Jim! Don't want or need Milan Lucic on my Vancouver Canucks,..there's just too much bad history under the bridge and witnessed patterns of behavior in this player that go totally counter to the culture of 'good character'  that I've been proud to support here. Just say 'NO' & let Looch continue to be himself & a diminishing asset elsewhere. Thanks!.

    1. viking mama

      viking mama

I'll hold onto my investment in these HOF Sedins & their very generous philanthropic ways to better the conditions of children & their families everywhere...over the oafish behaviors Looch demonstrates on and off of the ice - anyday! Somedays good guys finish 1st. Those victories are the best!! You can have an edge without being an idiot. Gudbranson seems to be that! Looch has simply been entitled for too long to change. Better find himself another league-enabled team to continue his schtick before the progressives take over, post-Bettman, & eradicate his kind altogether.

      Shift-4

I think you are going to be disappointed, viking mama.
I agree with your sentiment. But I have been bracing myself ever since talks broke down between Lucic and Kings.

    3. viking mama

      viking mama

^ Looch a Canuck?! It's akin to Messier as a Canuck! Never, ever, should have happened!!! On so many different levels it was a colossal affront to the team, the layers and their entire fan-base. I have embraced former rivals before. Dave "Tiger" Williams, Tim Hunter, Esa Tikkanen,...but some players have history that runs too deep & character too warped to embrace. Messier & Lucic are in that category for me. I would expect Trev to perceive this fact, even if Jimbo can't.

  9. O'Halloran is a part of the crew royally-botching another one in a So-Cal's team's favor... in DET this time. When we hear the crowd a-hollarin'...we know it's O'Halloran!

  10. Since someone must win in Alberta tonite....make it the Oilers &.no OT please! Damn you RNH...why do you not have your eyes on the puck with 3 min to go!

    1. viking mama

      viking mama

Just had to watch Kassian's HNIC debut with is 'newest' team since his return. And it"s OT....ugh!

    2. MedicineHatCanuck

      MedicineHatCanuck

Kassian has played 15 mins in both games. 4 shots and 6 hits. Even just looking at him he seems like he is doing a lot better

EDM beats CGY...but I should have asked the Stars to win over the Sharks instead.Sigh.

  11. @mikeburn re: Cody Hodgson -Remember those very heated & strongly worded conversations of 3+ yrs ago? Told ya so!!! Yah - that felt good.

  12. Seems comments by a FLA Panther were not 'sister' or SC/SC-ring related, but something far worse. Post-game fly by the Panther bench & angry-librarian glance at the offender was high-road behavior correction at its best. Perfect response! Poor of  these delusional Sedin-maligners (Potvin) to see it otherwise.

Well now I want to read this stuff. Where'd this info come from?

    4. viking mama

      viking mama

Dosrset went after the Panthers who were squirting their water bottles at the Sedins. How & where did he respond to that later?. He did not respond that way to the media post-game. He definitely should correct himself publicly there too. That'd earn him better points.

  13. Seriously... does anyone else here think that Justin Trudeau looks a little bit like Andy Kaufman with a GQ makeover??? I can't shake the thought...LOL.

He's got Mick Jagger's hair.  Think about that one for a minute.

  14. After 3 disallowed goals,..Miller's post-game comments were bang-on. Hansen & the Canucks were wronged by the NHL's war room, again. Even with the technologies available, the bias/ subjectivity of cleverly appointed-persons will be awarding or taking-away points in this league.

bahahahahaha man stop, Nick Kyperos is your source! come on man!

    3. viking mama

      viking mama

Not my source...that would be Miller. Do ya trust his evaluation after seeing replays? Just sayin' - that even an anti-Canuck like Kypper has relented on air to say,..in Hansen's case,..it was a goal. The others on the panel were ambivalent. How does the war-room get it wrong. Seeded bias. Asking that they - fix that

I thought it was a 50/50 but the clowns on CBC did a great job saying it was a kicking motion (craig simpson at it again) I personally thought it could of been a redirection or a kicking motion.

  15. Elliotte Friedman continues to make a statement by wearing his wife's or daughter's socks. Thanks Elliotte. Whenever I get bored with the crew's comments,... I just glance at the socks & smile.

  16. Comets getting set for puck drop, As interested in the kids on the farm as I am in the big-squad. They 'e playing the Ranger's affliated Wolf-Pack in Hartford. Go Comets Go!

This is not the same team as last year..they will lose their fair share...lots of rookies and missing heart..DeFazio and Archie.

    4. viking mama

      viking mama

Green likely misses all the losses to his D-corps too. No Sanguinetti, no Corrado or Clendening. It looks like Biega, Fedun & Pedan are his main-stays now.

  17. Cracknell is impressive....much like Santorelli was at the start of his tenure as a 'Nuck.

    1. Mongrel

      Mongrel

You're really trying to push this Cracknell is Santo 2.0 thing it seems. I swear this is the 4th time I've seen you try to crowbar this comparison in.

Either others have said somethin' similar somewhere, or you're re-reading my posts multiple times.

  18. What a refreshing difference it was to watch 2 back to back games that the Canucks played in So-Cal ...where the officiating crew didn't have a Devorski, O'Halloran. Sutherland or an O'Rourke on it! :)

If this is a course correction by Stephen Walkom to fix the aberrations that have occurred in some of these So-Cal buildings over the past few years - I applaud it!

    3. Green Building

It's not though, it's random, or the conspiracy refs had previous engagements.

    4. viking mama

      viking mama

I'm not whining about this year's game-day referees at all, I'm praising them. Just pointing-out what some people should be noticing. I know it's not the play-offs or anything, but perhaps the stats & video-tapes have been noticed, evaluated & some IIHF-type action has occurred. Eyes wide-open, people...that's all I'm asking.

  19. The real pill will be when Corrado gets snapped up by a team in our division. They know how well this kid performs under some real big game pressure. I'm full of angst over this move.

  21. Going out to the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack again, today! Very entertaining game played by the Chiefs & the Vees last night! Loved meeting the scouts & former NHL players all about us ,..and chumming with all of the adorably supportive parents. The BCHL is smart hockey, folks! Get out there over the weekend, ..watch it & support it!

  22. By signin' the NHL's next top-projected pick to his Swiss team,.. Crawford has set himself up to be perhaps the next NHL coach for whoever drafts young Auston Matthews. Pretty astute, Marc! Good luck to ya!

  23. Farewell to Eddie & Juice! But - good golly - tradin' away fan favorites and the team's best quote machines is hardly a way to sell tickets,..but carry-on,JB > the band-aid is pretty much off of the wound. Anyone nervous about what's next?

      PhillipBlunt

No. This needs to happen. It is time for a transition. Maon thing now is that Benning not hand out any more undeserved contracts like Sbisa's or Miller's.

  24. Maybe 1 of the true qualifiers of VAN's drafting/scouting abilities this year,.. will be just how well Benning's off-the-grid picks pan out. Only time will tell.

  25. Lucic goes from one enabled team to another,..ugh - and with Sutherland regularly havin' his back,...I'll be hatin; on the guy in perpetuity. LA Kings are only a handful of teams where he can be mean in his home rink and totally get away with it, The home win vs away record of the Kings these past few years...say it will be so! it really sucks to be playing extra games in the Pacific Division with vzSo-Cal refs

    1. PhillipBlunt

      PhillipBlunt

      You're fracked in the head.

    2. viking mama

      viking mama

The stats don't lie. Explain it. Stephen Walkom sure should. He needs to be shippin' some of the NHLOA's worst butt-kissers out of this division. If not, these stats are more by design than a fluke and I'm speakin' on behalf of every team that's been screwed by those assignments. Shake-it-up just a little & let's see what happens. I'm bettin' the status quo won't change, tho - it's workin' too well for the kingpins in charge.

    3. viking mama

      viking mama

When the senior refs bid for their hubs and get familiar and chummy with the homeboys,..a natural bias can occur. There is change elsewhere but in the pre-retirement hub-of-choice in So-Cal. There's few men who can fix this. The NHL's Head of Officiating could. Bettman could - if this bias begins to affect the integrity of the game, which in my opinion - it has. The stats, at the very least, suggest it and the on-ice evidence these 3 yrs matches that.
