^Smither's Joe stays hunkered-down in his little cabin in the woods,..his safe haven from the zombie apocalypse,..while Banning genetically engineers a new-bred of hockey-player to defend the Great White North, save the world, and re-populate the earth. With a plethora of these studly home-boys to draft...the Vancouver Canucks then triumphantly win the Stanley Cup. Where's the script for that story?!

What I do know is that markstrom will battle Miller for that net every day,..and in an adversarial way. it's a new world for Mr. Miller. At least he wont be over-shadowed by Lack's fan-love personality any more. We will miss that. Lack and Schneider, 2 quality goaltenders... I will always miss and consider 'Forever-Canucks'.

Not mad...just shell-shocked. Markstrom is a very prickly cat. Is Joaquim Eriksson still Canucks' property? What will the Comets have for 'tenders other than Cannata now after Eriksson bolted and with Demo still in school? I worry & care about both teams & nervously await what will be happen next. Both organizations have their holes to fill,.. again.

I envision that the relationship between Miller and Markstrom will be prickly. I've seen Markstrom's demeanor in interviews. He's not a chummy back-up. He'll battle Miller for that net every day...and in a more adversarial manner, too. This will be a relationship worth watching. Lack's 'nice guy' personna clearly over-shadowed our starter & prevented the market from showing him much love. It's a new day, now Ryan!

If/when Miller or Markstrom get injured, which is likely, who plays in Utica or as the back-up here then now that Joaquim Eriksson has bolted. AV wouldn't even play Cannata in a season-ending blow-out...tho he should have. Going from a place of goalie-surplus to this in a fort-night, is gut-wrenching. Counting on Demko to leave school early for 'em seems a little selfish or mercenary, too.

I luv our team, but as much as I admired Benning's job after the 2014 draft and getting free agents,..I'm just less impressed this time. We know Eddie would have lingered around here for a hometown discount. Markstrom is not the same cat. I expect him to be mercenary. Once again, the best goalie on our board is gone without a fight to keep him for the fans. The departures of Schneider, Luongo & Lack went down diffrently,..but this one just feels like a throw away.

^What they do right doesn't negate the things done wrong that received only wrist slaps or got sweep under a rug. Players flock to US O-6's to benefit from their perceived league advantages. An over-seeded DPS with those strong O-6 allegiances is a small example of that. Good team, partially enabled to increase their odds in the salary-cap era. NHLOA's so-called 'best' raise more eye-brows here. Believe the 'hawks are a purely untainted entity if you wish. I know better.

I'll stop hatin' on Seabrook as a 'Hawk if/when he's... a Canuck. I hope to see the wealth and the joy spread around more. Chicago's been over-served by this league.

SHOULD be feelin' extremely guilty - if ur wantin' those Hawks to win, again. ^And - nice remedy there, Heretic. Garrison, Yzerman & Bowness,...I could actually stomach getting the CUP. The 'Hawks are FULL,...and just too damn full of themselves. The Bolts,...for 4 more WINS!
