As I do feel JR/Alvin are in a bit of a rush to get some kids into the NHL so picking guys maybe a little further along in their development may be schrewd. Oskar Asplund LD. Passed over in last years draft went on an absolute tear this year. Posting 30 points in 49 Allsven games yes you read that right. Well ahead of several high profile picks from last years draft. Bogdan Konyushkov 20yo RD exploded into the KHL this year. Having a whale of a regular season as a rookie and then going on to score at 0.5ppg in the playoffs voted one of the 4 best players in the 2nd round of the Gagarin cup. On to the 2023 Class Juraj Pekarcik W September B day 17 yearold he was on my radar early this season and didn't disappoint. The size the speed and all round game from him is so tantalizing. He can make plays and finish them he's always buzzing. After the u18 I think the cat's out of the bag. He's for real. Alexander Rykov W July B day 17 yearold he's a puck hound absolute pain in the glute. He pressures pucks forces errors and capitalizes. He has the earmarks of the type of middle 6 players I seek out. HOH was comparing VHL to allven earlier well Rykov sure had a great showing in the V. Carter Sotheran RD Ticks all the boxes he's big, aggressive, skates pretty well, jumps into the play. We will see how he does at the combine I predict he may be pretty high up on some fitness tests. Gavin McCarthy RD We love this guy we need this guy in the system. No matter if it's Abby or Nux we want more of this type of player. Solidly build sandy and plays a simple all round game. Tristian Bertucci LD Under no circumstances should he be available in the 3rd yet this is where most public rankings have him. I mean it get's hard in the 3rd and 4th because I could rifle off a bunch of names imo should be 2nd round picks who IMO public rankings are just plain wrong on. That just means other guys who are publicly ranked as 2nds will drop, which and who I dunno. So many guys to watch Lind, Pinelli, Kiiskinen, Jarventie, Whalberg, Nillson, Forsfjall, Molgaard Minnetien, Karki, Dvorak, Unger Sorum, Ciernik,..... should all be 2nds but will they drop? Who will rise? The draft always has surprises.
