  1. I guess this is about right as Schwartz is about half the player Peca was.
  2. I actually think this is a pretty decent comparison. Far better than Bergeron. He will never be like Bergeron. He could be like Peca though I would be extatic if he was half the player Peca was.
  3. This years Yamamato. I have faith Benning knows what he is doing building a very very fast team for the future. Sprinkle in some Guddy, Woo, Gadjo, Virtanen, Tryamkin. Good balance of meat n potatoes and blinding speed.
  4. I dono man they all have moles. Something is up with their genetics.
  5. My "Hot take" on watching Hughes is let's not over coach him. Please. I want to watch him drive the play and use his creativity. Hughes is a far better prospect than J Subban was none the less I feel the confidence was coached out of him a bit and he could have been developed as an effective rover. Except the focus was always on getting stronger and being better defensively, "playing within the system". Rover is a tough job and give many coaches angina however this kid Hughes could be one of the best rover's in the game. With Elias and Brock we could see the most exciting trio this city has ever seen. To management let this kid play his game and dangle the forechecker rush the puck gain the blueline and dish to Bos Pete. Build "the system" around that. It has been so long since I have seen a Canuck player carry the puck across the opposing blue line. its always dump ins and drop passes and its so telegraphed teams have no trouble defending. #releasetheHughes.
  6. This is true. Though I still think there is a pretty good chance he will be back. He's not a dog. He can speak for himself and he hasn't expressed otherwise. He's currently under contract. We will see. My money is also on Valeri Nishkabob coming back to Dallas. Some of these Russian kids need more time to leave mother Russias bosom.
  7. Hughes doesn't get shrugged of many pucks or he wouldn't have been in the 1st round or playing at the WC.
  8. I aint butt hurt Tram left. WD didn't play him after he proved he was one of the best players on the ice. He worked his tail off and jumped through the hoops asked of him and still never got a chance to step up when our D we injured.
  9. That was Virtanen who said that. After stupid journalist was baiting him into acting like he was better than Jesus because he won a foot race.
  10. Move over Hamhuis we have Tram Hughes what a pairing that would be. Come back Tryamkin.
  11. I don't think I have ever been pumping a kids tires all season to actually end up drafting him. I'm stoked. If only Veleno dropped a few more spots.
  12. I think he is closer to the NHL than people think.
  13. I wouldn't call it thriving in WD's system he was often deployed with the Sedins who rarly took a defensive shift. We have seen Byron Bitz, Cowan the Brabarian, Hansen, Burrows, Carter, the list goes on turned from grinders into goal scorers playing with 2 of the best passers to ever lace em up. I can recall at least 5 goals he had wide open net tap ins and multiple more he missed.
  14. Cap management. He nearly potted 20 the year before inflated by the Sedins/deployment. This season he was brought back to earth with the one of the toughest deployments on the team behind Sutter. If he had potted another 20 we would be looking at paying him nearly 4m and would have likely traded him at the deadline. I think he will be part of the future core. A more cerebral Hansen with better hands without but the tenacity and linear speed. We need that guy who can play on any line in any game situation buuuuut I'd rather not be paying north of 3m for that when we have Loui on the books.
  15. I am so humongous big on Svechnikov. Having Bo Brock and Elias Svechnikov as our 1,2 punch would be incredible.
  16. I remember back when Anton Rodin won the guldhjamen shoulda flipped him for a 2nd.
  17. Filip Bo Flow 2018

Not sure Zadina would slip into an NHL line-up right away, but if he did, I don't think he unseats Pettersson for the first line.

  18. He has done exemplary and kept his head down didn't fuss most importantly bought into the program for him. I sure wish he was feistier and ready to answer the bell when someone on his team gets run right in front of him. Prust taught him how to hug it out at least.
  19. It would be amazing if there was a loophole where we could bring Burr back for the last game of the season.
  20. Size wasn't the biggest factor in Subban not working out here. But I digress I think PP has more in common with Pinball Clemons than Jordan Subban.
