  1. Realistically I'll be very happy with any combination of the following players C's Ritchie, Leonard, Moore, Stramel, Danielson, Whitelaw D's Simashev, Reinbacher, Axel Pelikka I mean yeah but like nobody goes 7 for 7 . We got. Brock, McCann, Pete, Hughes, Pod, Great picks in a minefield of Cody Glass, Adam Boqvist Whiffed on Virt, Olli some guys don't work out. The intentions with those picks to add a D and a PWF were good intentions. Just grabbed the wrong D and PWF. If Virtanen hadn't been a worthless human being and Olli turned into a top 4 D like he should have. Then we are looking pretty good today.
  2. I think I spammed Lian pretty hard last year. Thats totally fair. I admit I'm not totally in love with Reinbachers game. I pumped Lian, Sergavhev and Sieder in their draft years because of the edge they played with. Reinbacher is a bit of a shrinking violet for my liking but hey if he turns out to be a right shot Shea Theodore sign me up.
  3. I hope you're right. I'm by no means saying I have him at 5 or even the best D on my board I have him around 9 which puts him in no man's land. If our scouts decide to shoot their shot I'd support it because there are a bunch of great other targets for the 14th pick. I'd rather come away with Rein + Danielsson than Benson + Cristall
  4. No. This is why I wanted Bichsel last year. He played his off side very well. I don't think you take Smash and try to convert him I think you take him for the player he is and hope to develop him as such.
  5. Wouldn't that be as much of a reach as reinbacher though?
  6. It was I. I still prefer Simashev and think he will be the best D in the draft. Highest floor vs higher ceiling with a right shot though. My eyes tell me Simashev is better. But how many more years are we gonna wait to get a RHD in the system?
  7. By that same token it's not like we can just step out to the RHD store. If we never reach for one we will never get one. Couldn't even trade Bo or Miller for one. We have been trying to add one for a decade plus now. If he won't be there at 14 Take him earlier. They took the flashy winger last year instead of the 2 hulking D how's that working out? End of the day I'd rather live with knowing we took our shots on the guys we can't get any other way.
  8. I mean if they (our scouts) want him and don't think he will be there with the NYI pick I'd rather they reached for a guy we actually need. Which centers? Don't see any. @5 I'd rather reach for Rein than Dvorski
  9. OK @J.I.A.H.N @Wolfgang Durst Lets do it Reinbacher at 5 count me in. I don't think this will be an Olli Juolevi situation. The guys there Benson Smith aren't Tkachuk's their good players maybe elite players is a Mitch Marner what we need?? Lets do it. 5oa Rein RHD 14oa Ritchie/Danielson shut down C 37oa Starbuck Shut down RHD Dude Nice'th oa Juraj Pekarcik PWF 4th Carter Sotheran Mammoth RHD 4th Goalie Ian Clark do your thing 6th Oskar Asplund Overager LHD tearing up the allsven.
  10. I think thats what I said. We hung em out to dry and our tank job this year likely costs them any hope of ever getting an nhl gig again. We owe them thanks.
  11. We owe Martin and Delia a debt of gratitude. The success of our tank job this year will be at the cost of their careers. Unlikely either of them gets an NHL gig again after this year.
  12. 6 games is pretty early to panic.
  13. Meh. He's a pretty good player. I'll wait to see how this one plays out. As of right now he is our only top 9 fwd who can play heavy.
  14. I'm probably snoozin. Will happily be proved wrong especially if we take him. I generally like to see from the C position someone who drives the bus. He seldom carries the puck and when he does he often seems to have tunnel vision neglecting to use his linemates carrying it into double triple coverage where it's easily swatted away from him. I find this frustrating as he is capable of making incredible thread the needle passes when relatively stationary. When the puck comes to him and he gets it off quickly like a hot potato he's fantastic. I have been impressed with his stick work on the back check he is quite effective while on the chase however when the player is coming at him 1v1 he is often too easily walked for my liking. I think Devorski is a fantastc weapon on the pp where you can set up and move the puck around quickly and take advantage of soft ice. I think we could do worse with the NYI pick but I also think we could do better. I want a C who drives the middle dishes and gets to the net. That's just my preference the things he does well he does very well in my opinion. It's easy to over analyze these kids and a lot can change over the course of his development.
