  1. Vert da ferk. So Ottawas portion of salary counts against their cap even when he's on LTIR huh????
  2. I think he was a really good pick in the 3rd. I mean you know who I wanted there (Pekarcik). But Hunters got some good translatable abilities I certainly didn't expect him to be available. I'm happy to wait and see how this one plays out. I may have been furious if we'd grabbed another undersized overeager who can't skate. But theres a good chance he could actually be a player.
  3. I'm not quite sure I understand this. Why did we take the big man out of a men's league to play with kids?
  4. I have a fold out couch that weighs as much as McAvoy it folds out pretty fast and has a good frame also spent 2 years in college. People have slept on it like Willander/McAvoy. Willander could be a better skating fold out couch. Which is crazy.
  5. I really like McBain they used our 2nd to get him and I think that was a great trade. Does 1 year walk him to UFA? Would be targeting him next offseason for sure.
  6. Equivalent of 11m for the canucks and Carolina is a contender. Pete will want more.
  7. Why would anyone be intimidated by Marchand?
  8. I would have no issue bringing in Dumba on a 1-2 year deal if it's cheapish. But PA Hasn't been able to move any wingers. Could be a big pump n dump opportunity. He's got a big shot and a touch of nasty to his game. He's not the offensive force he was since he tore his back but he's still a threat. Hughes Dumba Sousy Hronek Cole Myers Sure sign me up just have to make some cap space.
  9. I thought Benson was gonna push Miller to the wing.
  10. I think (pure speculation) Jet Black would have gone with But. The size the speed the shot Benning would have been all over But.
  11. Pesce is great at his current cap hit. Sounds like he wants more than he's worth.
  12. Yep they sure work these kids harder in NCAA than they do in the SHL. Lekkerimaki slacking.
  13. I gotta say I'm less than impressed with the new MGMT. People around here love this narrative that they are sunshine and rainbows. The Benning hate clouds their judgment. I think there are positives. I like that there are more voices now in the front office and the hiring of some more forward-thinking people in specialized roles. I'm really impressed with our pro scouting finding Kuzzmenko, Bains, Hirose, Johansen, Aman, Dakota Guiseppe. Why the hell is Lammiko in Europe that guy was a stud?? I'm pretty disappointed they gave Brock the contract they did instead of moving him when he had value. This is fine I've made my peace and who doesn't love Brock? What I cannot accept is that they have been unable to create a more efficient roster. 30 mill on our top 9 wingers. I understand moving these contracts isn't easy but they need to be able to find a dance partner for a lateral move for players that may not have great contracts but better balance our line up doing nothing but add wingers to an already winger heavy roster is just compounding the issue. Buying out OEL was short-sighted they should have waited a year and shaved 2 off the length of the buyout. The whole operation seems to lack vision. One year they pass on all the behemoth D and shut down C for a teeny winger (Difference maker) who wasn't even BPA it was obviously Kemell all day. The next year they go all in on position?? Then pepper in some obscure overages who as far as I can tell are by definition bunts at best waiver fodder. When there were difference makers still on the board. We've got Cole in the room now who is a known scumbag and was dumped by the Canes for being a steaming pile of human excrement. So thats great. The whole Boudreau thing was yuck. JR for good reason has finally been muzzled. Doing Steamer dirty putting him up there as a figurehead during their period of upheaval doesn't sit well. There's becoming a laundry list of red flags. I'm having a hard time getting excited about the team this year for the first time since the Keenan era. We are going for it this year I mean this is us all in, last gasp before we get drastically worse with big raises coming to Hronek, Pete, Millers just kicked in Kuzz got paid OEL penalty there's not enough coming off the cap for us to ice a better team than we have right now and they havn't set the dominoes up to rebuild when things get drastically worse. Sorry for being a debby downer Ive been through dark ages before and I'll be here through it again. This year's going to be a hell of a ride though I think they will make the playoffs and I suppose anything can happen look at MTL.
  14. Can't we just share the Krakens anthem singer she's great
  15. Let the kids play. Maybe ZAR for depth he at least hits which is something we don't have enough of but I think our rosters pretty much done until some cap space is created. I would like to see a healthy rotation up from the farm so we know what we have and the kids know what they need to work on.
  16. https://moneypuck.com/lines.htm Heres a fun one. Look at every combination of lines where Garland replaces Brock the statistics clearly show an overall improvement in the line as a whole.
  17. https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/g/garlaco01.html https://moneypuck.com/player.htm?p=8478856 Like you said Garland played with a sack of hammers on the PP2 when he did get the opportunity. It's not like he was out there with Miller Pete Kuzz Huggy. I don't understand why you're negatively profiling this player based on 1.5 min per game at all?
  18. calling a guy who is 7th in PP mins averaging 1.5 mins a mainstay seems an exaggeration. It's a moot argument regardless.
  19. Garland does not play the PP therefore he cannot be taken off it. In actual fact in the small sample size of PP time he did get last year he produced at a rate of 5.7 points per 60 which is a much higher rate than Brock has produced since 2017/18. Now I'm not saying Garland is a PP wiz there is a reason he doesn't get PP time. But I don't think we can effectively call him terrible at it. Its probably more correct to say his strengths lie elsewhere. Where it may be more effective to have a guy like Joshua stand in the crease tipping pucks for Pete, Miller, Kuzz, Brock.
