  1. We need a new kesler thread anyways, that last one was getting too long
  2. There were quite a few Ottawa fans there, I wonder if anyone considered that maybe it was the Ottawa fans who boo'd Lack?
  3. He's been trying for a couple years now, but management traded Cory and then begged Lu to stay, stating clearly to him and us that he would be the 'Guy' which he isn't. They lied to him, straight up. You can say 'its his job, suck it up' all you want, but believe it or not we still live in a world where professionalism and class still has some value to some people.
  4. The day Luongo gets traded out of Vancouver will be the happiest day of his life.
  5. Where the hell was Bure? We just retired his number, least he could do was show up.
  6. It will be more. At draft day, 29 teams are looking to win the cup, and 15 teams will be disappointed they lost in the play-offs, GMs will be looking to keep jobs, GMs will be looking to make shake ups, a LOT more will be available, draft picks, prospects, players that were used on the cup run, cap space will become available, everything becomes available draft day, I think it would be more exciting and bidding wars would be more intense that day. Just my opinion at least. Right now all the good teams are handcuffed and teams are buyers or sellers, that's not the case at trade deadline day. On draft day, everyone is looking to get better and with a small UFA pool, Kesler looks better and better. As we see now, the price for trade deadline players is high, but most teams wont pay it, and the ones who do, well you are bound to take whatever they have, not much choice.
  7. Pouliot is the only one I might consider a true blue chip, Despres seems like a good likeable team guy. But these are all dmen, which we have a ton of, the other problem, Pouliot is not on that list.
  8. On the contrary, Kesler commands at least one blue chip prospect. If MG doesn't get a top blue chip coming back, then he is not doing his job. These fringe 3rd line players are easy to get, Kesler isn't.
  9. I still say he should deal Kesler at the draft. Every team is a playoff contender (or trying to be) at the draft. Way more options. Just wait a few more months MG... Kesler is still locked up for 2 years after this year is out,
  10. Kesler commands 2 bona fide blue chips. Not this fringe bullsh*t. This is like us offering Richardson, Corrado, Schroeder and a 28th 1st round pick Also here is source: http://www.nhl.com/i...id=nhl:topheads Penguins interested in Canucks' Kesler: report Saturday, 03.01.2014 / 10:17 PM By NHL.com Staff - / 2014 Trade Deadline blog The Pittsburgh Penguins are aggressively pursuing Vancouver Canucks center Ryan Kesler, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Saturday night. Rob Rossi, citing multiple sources, reported that a proposed trade would send Kesler to the Penguins in exchange for center Brandon Sutter, two 2014 draft picks (likely a first-round and third-round), and the Canucks' choice of defensemen Simon Despres or Brian Dumoulin. Rossi said general manager Ray Shero has been pursuing Kesler since January and would like to make a deal before the NHL Trade Deadline at 3 p.m. Wednesday, though the Penguins would try again during the offseason. Kesler is a solid two-way center who can win faceoffs consistently and has scored as many as 41 goals in a season. He's 29 years old and has two more years remaining on his contract, with a $5 million salary-cap charge. Kesler leads the Canucks this season with 21 goals. Shero has a history of making moves before the deadline; he's done so in six of seven previous seasons. In 2013, he acquired forwards Jarome Iginla, Brenden Morrow and Jussi Jokinen and defenseman Douglas Murray; Jokinen is the only one still with the team.
  11. I can't imagine Kesler with the Hawks after all the past rivalry. Chicago would absolutely decimate us every game from here on out. After getting rid of Kesler we have no second line, and Chris Higgins would be our top goal scorer with 16. Also, what about all these players who took discounts to play on a contending Canucks team? Do they all want to be traded now too?

Kesler demands 2 top blue chip prospects. This is why we need to deal him at the draft, we are just going to get offered this kind of stuff. If MG took this I would never watch a Canucks game ever again, not even lying.
  13. Woooooooooooooooooow........... Snow adds to the whole mystique of the outdoor winter hockey game, so now its just an indoor game with terrible sight lines where the lower bowl cant even see the game and management is giving tickets away for free. Glad I didn't buy tickets for this.
  14. Good, they can eff right off. I'm glad MG is at least playing hardball for Kes. He demands a really good return, regardless of what some people say. Makes it a bit easier to stomach what he is doing to Luongo.
  15. Uh, you mean Mike Gillis didn't sign Luongo to a massive contract? You mean Luongo just took all that money without MG's knowledge? Also Luongo hasn't been outplayed, he is playing great. Lack is going to stumble, he is a rookie, he has been exposed and lit up already this season, as all goalies do. When Lack stumbles, Luongo will get the start, are you going to blame Lack for that when it happens? And trust me its going to happen.
  16. Luongo has been classy and put up with an astonishing amount of BS from this organization and its fans. Luongo has clearly been disgruntled for a very long time and has been good, even humorous about it. There is a difference between being fed up and speaking out about it, and shutting up and doing what your told. Any GM worth his salt would have put an end to this goalie controversy years ago and not let it fester for this long, clearly MG is playing games and doesn't have luongos interests in mind in the least.
  17. Believe it or not, some people have this thing called class and respect for seniorty. Luongo has played awesome this year, he's put up with a LOT of BS from fans and management for many years, he even asked to be traded away, he was denied that and he wanted this game, he should be entitled to play. It is the least they could do. Unless of course they need him to stay healthy for a trade, then he should be thankful. Lack, I love the guy and he is awesome and the future goalie of this team, but his hot streak is going to end believe it or not, he is still a rookie without a single NHL season under his belt.
  18. If this is even true, which it isn't because he started out awesome this year, this would be the game that would get him motivated off the bat. He has been looking forwards to this game for a while and I doubt he would be ill-prepared.
  19. So then once again we run into the problem of having 5.3 million in cap space sitting on the bench game after game. Hey MG, I thought you said you were good at cap management...
  20. More true. Just sad that hes getting turned down so much, he has played steller this year.
  21. He does have a say if they are trading him and need to keep him from getting injured, which still might be the case. I agree he does deserve to be the undisputed starter. He got snubbed for the starter in the Olympics, and is getting snubbed as the starter at home. What a way for a star goalie to be treated.
