  1. Okay... I remember Management, Torts, all flying over to Lus house when Cory was traded saying Lu was the go to #1 guy, no question. so either A) Luongo is being held off the ice to not be injured before a trade B ) This entire management team is full of pure, absolute bullsh** Luongo is a fantastic goalie and he doesn't deserve this.
  2. Just looked up maatta's stats, what is the hard on for this guy? A career high 8 goals in the OHL. Granted I don't really follow the OHL.
  3. I think at that point he was trying to trade Luongo still. Chances are right now teams are only offering their scraps, pieces they don't need for a play off run. Imagine what we could have traded during our play-off run, not a lot, maybe coho. All I'm saying is during the draft, you can target a certain team in the top 10 (maybe top 5?) and also gank their top blue chip prospect. Imagine adding two top nhl ready prospects (of your choice) to this team?
  4. Yah Burrows has not done well under Torts, blocking shots while taking cheap shots and hits from everyone in front of the net = lots of injuries.
  5. Maybe Lu is being held off on purpose haha.
  6. I keep saying, gotta trade him on draft day, way more options. None of this 'trade us your scraps we don't need in the playoffs' garbage.
  7. Does anyone else think Lack is being showcased? Maybe to Buffalo for Stewart?
  8. also, maybe luongo is getting moved?
  9. Question, if we lose tonight, do we auto become sellers?
  10. Yeah his value is high, but a playoff team won't offer much in the way of 'useful' pieces. The price at this point should be their top prospects as the draft position won't be very good and their useful players will be kept for the run. During the off season GMs will want to be shuffling their teams around, meaning we have choice, at this point we can only take the pieces they have lying around. Think of it this way, during draft day, you can target any player, any draft choice or any prospect of your choosing, why do it now when you have such limited trade options to pick from? Not to mention, after UFA day, people who did'nt get the FA's they wanted may pay even higher for him.
  11. This is why I say we wait until the draft to trade Kesler, teams won't be in a playoff race and they will be more willing to part with key roster players. Why should we simply accept the pieces that have no impact on a playoff contending team? Afterall, lets face it, if they were good, they would be helping that team win instead of being traded away. Wait a few months, wait until a GM gets mad they lost and is prepared to sell the farm for kesler.
  12. Luongo is under contract with us for the rest of his hockey career though, Kesler can walk away for free in 2 years, and the closer that 2 years gets, the smaller the return will be.
  13. Malkin says hello But i know what your saying. The problem arises if Kesler actually did ask for a trade, and MG prolongs it too long, we lose out on value due to the diminishing nice contract and his 30+ age. 29 looks better than 30. I think if MG were to deal Kes, he should do so at the draft, more trading partners, lots more teams swapping players, and we can target a certain draft position/player rather then a random draft number. Plus we can ask for players that might now be available that wern't during the playoff drive. Like you said, no need to rush a trade now, draft day is where I would do it.
  14. I'd just like to point out that if Kesler is traded, our #1 goal scorer becomes Chris Higgins with 16 on the season. NIce eh?
  15. Love the lack, but god damn, someone score a goal, fight, do something!! zzzz
  16. Trading Kesler makes absolutley no sense unless we initiate a full rebuild. Once Kesler is gone, we have literally zero second liners. Burrows Higgins and Kassian don't really count as second liners. Unless we trade Kesler for three second-liners, its not going to work.
  17. if mg could get a first for Hansen, I think he would have done it a loong time ago.
  18. Getting rid of the GM is not done to get immediate improvements, but for long term improvements. Once the owner makes up his mind, he will fire them as soon as possible to give the new GM more time and opportunities and to get results sooner. For examples look at all the GM's getting fired before the draft or before the trade deadline opens after the playoffs almost every year.
