  1. What other top picks are you talking about?
  2. I am not sure why you are referring to my team... i actually like Jake, what i am saying is that so many teams get rid of an underperforming high draft pick within the first few years and don't keep them long term. I think the Canucks will be at that point within the next year.
  3. You think he's here for the long term? I think he might be traded just for the fact of media and fans constantly whining about him. Much like other top 5 picks who don't turn out to be much right away, they seem to get shuffled off to other teams.
  4. I would be surprised if Jake is still a Canuck a year from now.
  5. It worked fine until 2010 when the Libs changed the law to allow them to access the ICBC excess. They have been at the cash trough every year since then. What i don't get is why the NDP are so surprised right now at this point... one month before the budget. It's been on the news for the last few years about ICBC shortfalls and rates have been going up steadily. Even news a year ago was big trouble was in the future... What the hell has the Govt been doing up until now?? We go from a bunch of dumb azzes to a new group of dumb azzes!
  6. Claims and personal injury are up 80% holy crap what a free for all system! Bad drivers, rampant payouts lead to this mess.
  7. I have a feeling that Jake will be traded in the next year if nothing changes. Not many top draft picks stay on the same team when things don't go well, not sure if it is just fans and media pressure on a bad pick or other decisions by management.
  8. Quite simply most fans have no idea how good Pederson was. Canucks didn't give up on Neely, that was the asking price. Most people look at the trade now and wonder how Neely was traded. It is funny!
  9. Yeah i laugh when i read stuff like that. I don't think too many people realize just how good Barry Pederson was at the time. Sadly injuries derailed his career quickly. Now at the time i loved Cam Neely for the fights that he had here before he left! lol
  10. Hey you wouldn't be the Rob Zepp who played in Florida would you?

He was a goalie..... so not a really hockey player .....

      Just kidding Rob.... LOL

Total respect for any hockey player that got to play pro.   Awesome....

So hard to get paid to play hockey.   Awesome career.

  11. I think he might be talking about Hutton.
  12. I hear you there and one just never knows how a player will be when he hits the NHL. When Forsberg was drafted all the experts thought Philly was insane! When Sundin was drafted Jason Herter was a can't miss dman too! I don't even recall him playing a game for us. Sundin was taller 6'4 i think and he was a skinny kid too at the time.
  13. Even if he came close that would be amazing. Having said that Forsberg and Sundin are really lofty heights to reach.
  14. Ahh the Sabres...what a disaster the last 10 or so years have been. Hoping Botterill can change that around sooner than later.
  15. Overtime hasn't always been around, when i started watching there was no overtime. Sometime in the 80's it started.
  16. Groin injury... i think that is better then that hip issue again.
  17. Anyone else watch the game tonight and see the injury? Doesn't look good at all, hopefully Lui is not too long out.
  18. So he left because there were no Russians on the team or by having them on the team he might come back... yeah ok.
  19. Bob Seger ZZ Top The Kinks J Geils Rush Eric Clapton The Boss Supertramp Bryan Adams Rolling Stones Rod Stewart Elton John John Fogarty George Thorogood Boston Steve Miller Fleetwood Mac
  20. I'm not sure it's a stealth tank when everybody knows they are a bad team!
  21. Where do you see him on the Canucks? What is this bs about personal grudge... i like the guy and a big fan of the pick at the time. Some picks work out and others don't.
  22. ?? Um i don't think anyone is retarded... wow. Can i not have an opinion? My argument is not irrational, Jake was rated higher on most charts than Ehlers and Nylander...guess why that was. It was because of him having the looks of a power forward who can score goals and take over a game. Yes he is being developed but if you watch any games and see his stats... right now it is not adding up to be a top line player. Next year he could take a huge jump forward... or he could stay the same. No one knows at this point but based upon this last season it is not looking like a future top line player right now.
  23. So you think teams pick in the top 6 to get a third or fourth line player? Drafting is certainly no science and some are wins, some are not. That's the way she goes, no one can predict that. What authority do you have thinking anything other than a top or second line player is a huge win?
  24. Actually i'm not negative at all i am a huge fan of Jake and would love for him to be a top line player. There is still time i realize that but as of right now and this past season he hasn't shown it yet. I'm not sure you understand hockey if you think points in the AHL are not important points of a player's development. He is developing, just not at a first line kind of player that they were hoping for with a 6th overall pick.
