  1. Made the mistake of viewing HFBoards.  I'm seriously worried for the mental health of a lot of those guys.

@Sean Monahan That's why we are here and they are there.

I do believe it is a matter of perspective though. Some of their criticisms of CDC are on point as are our gripes about HF. I left HF because the anti-Benning sentiment went overboard where you could not post a single positive move of his without 10 people jumping on you for praising 'Dim Jim'.

Its literally the other way around here. To be honest I don't even feel like discussing the Canucks most days any more, the losing seasons have clearly taken a toll on the fanbase and there is so much infighting and hostility everywhere. Somebody is out there is going to call you an idiot or a loser for having an opinion that they do not agree with.

@Toews The last thing you said is true of every discussion on the internet. It's why I don't bother to have arguments about most things, anymore. You're always an idiot to someone for disagreeing with something and those people generally can't defend their POV without resorting to personal attacks.

I think it's still possible to retain one's own perspective..but perhaps for younger people(growing up in a digital age) that poses more of a challenge?

With human nature & rapid, hyper-tech combined, Orwell warned us(rather bleakly) of the potential pitfalls 70, 80 yrs back.
